Is the Universe an App? Exploring Neural Trickery and the Illusion of Certainty Is this universe of ours an app similar to a game like Spore, where creatures confronting competing species evolve over time, which can be downloaded for free on an iPhone or an iPad? Before we dismiss such conjectures as silly science fiction speculations, the more viable question we should ask first is how difficult will it be in the future to computationally recreate the world we now experience, given the exponential growth of computing power and the law of accelerating returns? In addition, how difficult will it be to trick us into believing in the certainty of any given state created by artificial intelligence? The answers may surprise us. It is probably much easier than we at first would suspect, especially in light of how manipulatable human consciousness can be.

Instant auto-generated automatic databases Instant, auto-generated, automatic databases Sometimes, I just wonder if the day will come when we can see auto-generated, visible-for-all and manipulatable-by-anyone databases, in such a way that the people can take the place of , , , , , ,...

UCO CeCE Labs Kinect Mario at CeCE we provide our faculty and staff with he ability to do green screen videos. Its a great to tool that allows our professors to get their personalities out there to online students. We would like to take that concept a little bit further. With the kinect will be able to provide manipulatable objects on screen. Hopefully we will be able to create more engaging and interactive videos to help explain hard to understand concepts. Using Mario graphics we set out to build a prototype for this concept.

Let's Riddle Pid this Part 8: Trial and Error, Batman! AKA, THE way to figure out these puzzles. Because messing around is a great way to design a game. I mean, who likes the game to be obvious and logical!? Or maybe I'm just being harsh. In which case, I'm sorry. But only if people can point out WHY I'm being stupid and HOW it should be done. A very strange section of game. You're not given much of a hint how to 'input' your answer to the riddle, other than the random vibration from jumping on the door. So, finding ourselves in the Workshop, we have to get some batteries, a Wii-remote, some pizza... I mean, just those first two. And any remote will do. *** the Wii and it's revolutionary design, amazing innovation and high intrinsic fun factor. Nah. You're alright, Mister Wii. At least you're backwards compatible, unlike a certain Playstation. Consoles aside, we have an annoying, smeared out fetch quest, a riddle and some fun upgrades. We also get a fancy new weapon to boot! Sweet! The game isn't too innovative here, especially compared to the Factory; mostly repeating existing ideas and mechanics, but it works. It's annoying, but alas. The turning platforms are pretty interesting, though. The conveyors... eh. I like the new enemy, though. Who sucks up beams and is hard to jump over. Puts a lot of thought into your regular methods of getting around. It beats the hell out of that balloon boss. Still, annoying 'riddle'. And then we enter a dark, gloomy maze filled with saxophone music. But after that maze is another, more ...

LIVE Outside Reflects Inside — Difficulty as Gift — Learn Self Via Teacher — Lose "Because" 2011-05-23 1st journal, Mayan day 11 Wind ♥ Text Companion - Well, I'm going to ask your forgiveness, here, while I basically don't do a text file to go with this video. Thus, let this act as a message that there's a new video available. I'm in the midst of trying to get to the bottom of my feelings around text files and videos. Sorry, if that's boring for you. It probably would be for me, as the reader. Still, all I can do is be real with you guys, here. What else would you want? I'm sure you don't me faking it for anything. I might run by the seat of my pants, at times, but fake it I generally don't. Not since I've discovered how important joy is to our lifetimes 'Down here,' that is. Are you aware of that? Heck, looks like I might write something after all. Just don't expect it to be connected to the video. Right now, I couldn't care less about that. It is what it is, and stands on its own. So, what about joy, then? Well, when you get the idea, then the deeper understanding, or inner confirmation, that joy is really the point of life down here (3D) - well, that changes things, doesn't it? Then you start paying attention to what gives you joy and what doesn't - what turns the joy flow off. Life starts looking a good bit different, just on that one discovery. Now, if you add to this the self-realized fact that you're divinity walking the earth - well, then nothing, but nothing, will ever be the same for you, again. You won't be able to be forced and ...

Vocaloid Song Downloads [Part Twenty-Eight] IMPORTANT!!! My Mediafire has been SUSPENDED. All the MP3 links are dead. Please check my newest video out for how to find the MP3s now easily. EDIT: Apparently I had a brain fart and forgot the edit the first slide, seeing as it still says "Part Twenty-Seven". Sorry. D: Also, I've changed the Gumo link so now, although the sample in the video isn't great, the song quality is now excellent. I'm going to be pumping out the next three videos hopefully before the end of the week, because on Saturday my family leave for a week of vacation, and I really want to get to the next Nico Chorus special since I actually have requests for it for once. It's official -- that Pokémon song creeps me out. I hope who requested t is happy, because I'm personally not going to listen to it again (It was a cute PV, though). Other than that song , I can officially say that this video is awesome with how many of my favorite songs it has. I mean, Binary Dancer is by one of my favorite producers (He's a god with FL Studio and techno music), Dancer in the Dark is just epic, Shouted Stars is unique and awesome...they're all just excellent songs that have, for the most part, scored high in the Vocaloid community. Finally, getting pictures for those three huge group songs was a *** (Excuse my language, but it was). I complained about that Gumi, Len, and Gakupo picture before -- no. I swear I spent half an hour searching before I gave up and just found a manipulatable picture for the ...

Ghouls 'n Ghosts (Genesis): Level 1 speed run practice Don't worry, I won't be speed running this for awhile. I just wanted to play it today, and in the process I made a few discoveries I wanted to somehow keep track of. A video is the best way! The RNG in this game is very strange. For several attempts in a row, I was getting the same exact boss pattern and same exact enemy spawns/drops in level 2, assuming I had the same score getting to the boss each time. Then for some reason it started changing. I'm not sure if it is based off of my actions through the level, or my weapon, or the score, but it is definitely manipulatable....unless I was just getting extremely lucky in those attempts. Anyways, the pattern of enemies in level 2 seems to be dependent on weapon/score (maybe not weapon), so I like to finish level 1 with 6200 points. It is somewhat tricky to make it to the boss with 1200 points, but I found a good way to do it, depending on what score I get when crossing the bridge to 1b. The birds following me are worth 200 pts each, and I can very easily kill one or more of them without losing any time. The goal is to have 1000 or 1100 points by the time the wind stops blowing. If I have 1100, I don't kill the final plant guy (just jump over him); if I have 1000, I kill the plant guy at the top. Regardless of score I always kill the plant guy at the foot of the ladder, otherwise I'll be hit. This can be improved by a bit. I could have jumped 1-2 more times in the wind section, but I was a little tentative here. My damage ...

Poetry: Hopscotch I live with little children in my head. Don't feed them. They'll turn to their vampiric nature. And they're always thirsty, always urging me to listen. What fun characters to have in my mind. Me and them; we all reside inside the castle our parents built. Stone and brick, the grey colors dull but pierce my thoughts and concentration with memories of past. Paint my heart black and let my nerves ice over as the little children whisper. My flag eager to drift in the wind as my boots sink to the bottom of the page as it melts; the more blood I spill to craft my last wish in ink is turning the paper to liquid. Ice cold lemonade in hand; my head lightens, a minute could be my life as I trade my stress for a cigarettes death. The little children are never impressed by my antics. Pencil led and writing pad burn slow under the moon, candles light the path, my little children sleep. The boogeyman is all that makes them relent with their blissful torture. "Courtship thoughts," speaks the werewolf in my way, "always makes for holy crosses melting on judgement day. Watch for the sign in a sky, your little children will allow you a warning." Fawning over false prophets, not to follow, but to devour as though they were pharaohs and each of my little children were Gods, the little children cough and show their breaths desire. Course of memorable fire, the men and women of the traveling circus conform to natural faces. Manipulatable facial contortions, unware of their broken values ...

Lore For Noobs - The Horde (Part 1) The Horde began on the peaceful planet of Draenor when the Shaman Ner'zhul was contacted by what he thought was a peaceful spirit. This "spirit" went by the name Kil'jaeden. Kil'jaeden told him lies about the power of warlock magics and convinced him to abandon shamanism. Word quickly spread about this new form of magic Ner'zhul could wield and others soon followed in his footsteps and also became warlocks. Ner'zhul began to form all the tribes into one single tribe known as the Horde. The Horde then began to wage war against the peaceful and elusive Draenei while under the guidance of Kil'jaeden. Ner'zhul, disgusted at what was happening to his people and he turned his back on the archdemon. But it was far to late to reverse the damage he had done and his apprentice, Gul'dan, eagerly filled in the place that his mentor had left behind. Gul'dan soon realized that when it came to public relations, he was useless. To make up for this, Gul'dan chose a puppet to run the Horde. Someone who was well respected but easily manipulatable. This man was Blackhand, chieftain of the Blackrock tribe. Gul'dan manipulated the orcs to make Blackhand their warchief. The Horde quickly destroyed the Draenei and were left on Draenor with nothing to wage war on. The tribes began to fight amongst themselves and Gul'dan thought all his work would be put to waste and the Horde would be destroyed. This was until he was contacted by Medivh.

LittleBigPlanet Trailer High Quality LittleBigPlanet Trailer High Quality LittleBigPlanet (sometimes abbreviated to LBP; and developed under the working title The Next Big Thing) is an upcoming puzzle platformer and world creation video game for the PlayStation 3, first announced on 7 March 2007, by Phil Harrison at the 2007 Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, California.[5][6][7] It is being developed by Media Molecule, a British company founded in part by Rag Doll Kung Fu creator Mark Healey, will be published by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and is due for release in October 2008. A public beta version of the game was previously scheduled for the summer of 2008,[8] but it was later confirmed that only private beta testing would take place, with the possibility of a publicly available demo before the full game is released.[9] Gameplay In LittleBigPlanet, players control small characters (nicknamed either "Sackboy" or "Sackgirl", owing to their material and appearance), each of which can jump, move, and grab objects. Players can use their abilities to shape and develop the highly manipulatable environment to build custom spaces either individually, collaboratively, and/or competitively. Levels focus on co-operative, physics-based gameplay, and players can use mechanisms such as cogs and blocks to build anything from small level parts to large, complex worlds. The game will also allow opportunities for players to acquire new skills and tools. A major focus of LittleBigPlanet will be on the ...

First Ever Pixar Short Movie - The Adventures of André and Wally B. [1984 HD] The Adventures of André and Wally B. is an animated short made in 1984 by the Lucasfilm Computer Graphics Project, which was later spun out as a startup company called Pixar. Although it is technically not a Pixar short, the animation was by John Lasseter (who had originally made it for his son), who was working on his first computer animated project and would move on to be a pivotal player at Pixar. Although the film terrified Lasseter's son, the animation was groundbreaking at the time, and helped spark the film industry's interest in computer animation. Plot: The short involves a character named André (their names are only known by the title, they are never mentioned in the film) being awakened in a forest by a pesky bee named Wally B. André distracts the bee so that he can run away. Wally B. chases André and eventually catches up with him then stings him off screen. Wally B. later reappears with a bent stinger. Soon though, Wally B. gets hit by André's tossed hat as a last laugh. Production: The credits for the piece are concept/direction Alvy Ray Smith, animation John Lasseter, technical lead Bill Reeves, technical contributions by Tom Duff (who designed the animation program called md, short for "motion doctor"), Eben Ostby, Rob Cook, Loren Carpenter, Ed Catmull, David Salesin, Tom Porter, and Sam Leffler, filming by David DiFrancesco, Tom Noggle, and Don Conway, and computer logistics by Craig Good. The title is a tribute to the film My Dinner with André, starring ...

How to Control Society: Education and "National Security" CONTINUE WATCHING: ur1.ca TRANSCRIPT AND SOURCES: While the oppressive environment of today's schools do provide a window onto the increasingly militarized police state that America is becoming, the idea that the school system could be used as a tool for inculcating a national identity and taming a traditionally independent population is by no means a new one. In fact, as any careful study of the books and quotations of the western school systems progenitors will show, the modern idea of schooling was formulated specifically to create a nation of intellectually crippled, docile workers, who would be more dependent on authoritarian systems of control and more easily manipulatable by the ruling class. The Ozone Hoax - Pt 2 of 2 ► William Cooper ► 01.22.1993 Dated May 1979, "Quiet Weapons for Silent Wars" (Technical Manual SW7905.1) was found in 1986 in an IBM copier that had been purchased at a surplus sale. It is the product of a discipline called "Operations Research" developed during WWII to attack enemy populations using social engineering and psychological warfare. According to the document, in 1954 the "international elite" decided to wage a "quiet war" against the American people with the goal of shifting wealth from "the irresponsible many" into the hands of the "responsible and worthy few." "In view of the law of natural selection it was agreed that a nation or world of people who will not use their intelligence are no better than animals that do not have intelligence. Such people are beasts of burden and steaks on the table [sic] by choice and consent." The goal is to establish an economy, which is "totally predictable and manipulatable." The masses will have to be "trained and assigned a yoke...from a very early age..." ======================================================= It is my current belief that "they" knew there was a coming Apocalypse (revealing/awakening) . . "they" had to take the real truth away, and only give those who awakened "controlled" information . . . the disinfo is going into hyper-speed now - but the truth is still available for those who can find it . . .we have to build our intuition & discernment to sort it out. Keep in mind, people like Alex Jones & Mark Dice claim that Wm Cooper was a ...

Developing New Models for Forecasting Mortgages in Mathematica Fannie Mae financial economist Bernard Gress is taking an innovative approach to predicting the stability of mortgages. He's using Mathematica to create a genetic algorithm system that simultaneously finds the optimal model structure and the optimal dataset to use to make a final prediction. He says Mathematica is the superior platform for developing this project. "Mathematica, because it uses expressions for the fundamental structure of all of its operations, and those expressions are directly manipulatable, that allows instantly, right off the bat, saves years of work right there," says Gress. "You visualize your data and parts of the function you're generating much easier. You can focus on where the issues are much quicker, so I think those are the advantages of Mathematica for me." The Mathematica Edge • Represents everything—mathematical formulas, data, lists, graphics, documents, and more—as expressions • Provides a single, unified framework for developing and prototyping new ideas and models • Contains integrated symbolic computation for error-free workflow For more videos from Wolfram Research, please visit:

Stork/Piper: Stork's Star of the County Down Piper--An adventerous, smart, opinionated individual who serves as the perfect complementive factor to Stork's subdued, passive nature. In his eyes ever-twitching; she's indifferent, she's special...she's his stable little star. Yes, Stork/Piper...Because, for no reason that I can identify nor justify...I just got really annoyed with the Piper/Aerrow...and I REALLY don't know why ^^; I don't! I mean; there's nothin' wrong with these pairings, each to your own like--it's all what you interpret into it afterall, I just...really don't like Piper/Aerrow...so I had to do something to passively get over it ^^; I mean personally I don't think there WAS any romance in the show ^^; I think it was all just circumstantial and neutral to be honest: Like Aerrow--he'd have given his helmet to anybody, 'cos let's face it, if anyone out of his little family dies, no matter who it is...It's on his head basically ^^; So why suffer the angst? Anyway! Back onto the subject of this pairing and vid! Sorry ^^; At first I'd tried to illustrate Piper's indifference through her intelligence (as symbolised through the nature of the crystals) However...after a while; ya run out of manipulatable clips ^^; So, had to improvise, rendering the latter half of the video to be a transition towards the more 'personalized identification' of Stork's attraction to Piper rather than a generalized one. But I did take into consideration of Aerrow/Piper...he hails her...but She likes to be the one in control of ...

FFIX - Freya SCC+ - Part 5: The Outer Continent In this video, we journey to the Outer Continent in search of Kuja, and are attacked by: Lani 0:00 - 6:15 Hilgigars 6:16 - 16:04 Soulcage 16:05 - 17:28 Scarlet Hair 17:29 - 22:22 (battle starts at 18:15) Lani is a problem. While her attack can be blocked with tents or Garnet's Blind spell, and Zidane reflects Fira/Blizzara/Thundara, she doesn't cast those spells on Zidane often. Instead, she 1HKOs Garnet with them. (Garnet doesn't have enough Magic Stones to Auto-Reflect these spells). This means Garnet is unneeded. What's more, Aera can't be reflected and Water 1HKOs the whole party save Zidane, who reflects it back for a cool 300 damage. But Aera is a 1HKO to anyone. This means Zidane and either Quina or Vivi (preferably Quina, since Vivi is a target priority, while Lani will usually ignore Quina) must be alive at all times to take Aera and revive Zidane. We can't waste time reviving Garnet, though; Zidane is needed to attack, since his attacks are the only ones that deal damage. (I forgot to put him in the front row, too. DX) Towards the end, I get frustrated with Zidane getting Aeraed to death and not being able to keep Vivi and Quina alive because of Waterspam. So I just held down the attack button. Had Lani cast Aera once during that time, I didn't get a game over. But for over a minute she just keep casting Fira/Blizzara/Thundara and so I won. Hilgigars, the happy green giant of doom, follows a simple pattern: Attack, Earthquake, 2x Attack, go back to Earthquake ...

There was a lunar eclipse that occured later in the night/earlier the next morning. I got to check it out, but no shots of it here. The full moon looked so huge when it first got over the mountains. A Mathematica-Based Research Workflow at Work From the beginning, the founders of the biotechnology startup Emerald Therapeutics wanted to develop an ideal research platform that would allow for lab and process automation during experiments as well as easy communication of their findings. Mathematica provides all the tools the Emerald founders needed to carry out their vision. About the decision to use Mathematica, Co-founder and Co-CEO Brian Frezza says, "It struck the perfect balance of being powerful enough and versatile enough to allow our engineering team to develop sophisticated software within, yet the language is easy enough to learn that it's accessible to our chemists and biologists to use as a primary means of keeping a daily lab notebook." Emerald's team of scientists and engineers have a shared code base in Mathematica, which allows them to use one platform for carrying out all the tasks in their antiviral research workflow--from developing functions to processing and storing data, designing and managing experiments, presenting findings, and even controlling lab instruments. Having Mathematica as the core platform means the Emerald team can trust the repeatability and accuracy of their results and rapidly grow their experiment base. "We can keep handling larger experiments and we can do more complicated things each day because we're building on a base that is incredibly reliable and precise.... You need that level of reproducibility in biology. You need something that can handle all the quantitative ...

ALAN MOORE (summary) Author of the V for Vendetta graphic novel series explains things like how the Occult word "grimoire" or book of spells means "grammer" which also tells you that "spells" has to do with putting letters together for "spelling" words or forming conceptual ideas for the purpose of raising another person's conscious awareness which is similar to that of being a shaman or someone with the power to transform consciousness by means of manipulating language, symbols, and images. Alan Moore offers you an immersion into a magical worldview where science, spirituality, and society are part of the same Universe. In Magick these are seen as indistinguishable. Media and especially advertising companies are an example of "dark Magick" because they cast spells in order to manipulate the masses to their will. Rather than try to wake people up to actual reality they use their Magick as an opiate to tranquilize people to make them more manipulatable. With their Magick words or jingles they can cause everybody in the country to be thinking the same words and have the same b*** (useless) thoughts all at exactly the same moment. The TV shows House, The Mentalist, Lie To Me, etc. perhaps being examples to the contrary. "Beware of the satire!" In recent times, artists and writers have allowed themselves to be sold down the river. They have accepted the prevailing belief that art and writing are merely forms of entertainment. They're not seen as transformative forces that can change a human ...

The Ozone Hoax - Pt 1 of 2 ► William Cooper ► 01.14.1993 Dated May 1979, "Quiet Weapons for Silent Wars" (Technical Manual SW7905.1) was found in 1986 in an IBM copier that had been purchased at a surplus sale.

Gauntlet NES - SPEED RUN in 16:49 by Feasel (Elf) download the run - game page - Link to SDA - ---------------------------------------------- Author's comments: In preparation for AGDQ 2012 I recorded many runs through this game. I was picking it up again after several years of having not played the game at all. Re-watching my old run, i was fairly happy with the room order. The only things that needed improvement were slight changes in keys and bomb usage. Here's a quick primer on Gauntlet speedrunning: Health - The elf/archer is the fastest character, as well as the weakest. You might think that his weakness puts him at a disadvantage because he takes so much damage from enemies. Yet the mechanics of the game are such that the safest strategy is often simply to plow through all the enemies and get out of the room as fast as possible. The slower you go the more your health will decrease (as it runs down constantly on its own), the more enemies will spawn, and the more damage you'll take as you pass by enemies. You get your health refilled every half dozen stages (give or take) so it's mostly a matter of choosing strategies that budget the amount of health lost so that you'll squeak by to the next refill point. It's rarely worth it to go out of your way to pick up the oatmeal and cider health refills that aren't directly on your path. Keys - You need them to go through doors, obviously. However you can get a temporary upgrade to your weapon that allows you ...
