Operating Room Footage - Tip Cartilage Contouring for Rhinoplasty Grafts augment each third of the tip lobule and anterior columella (corresponding to each of the alar cartilage crura) depending on the aesthetic objective; multiple grafts are always placed. Selective augmentation limits the overall increase in lobular size. Every year, half a million people who are interested in improving the appearance of their nose seek a consultation with a Facial Plastic Surgeon. Some are unhappy with the nose they were born with, and some with the way aging has changed their nose. For others, breathing may be a problem, or an injury may have distorted the nose. A slight alteration of the nose can greatly improve ones appearance. Rhinoplasty (reshaping the nose), could improve ones looks, self-confidence or health. As with all facial plastic surgery, good health and realistic expectations are prerequisites. The goal of rhinoplasty is to improve the nose aesthetically (without creating a surgical look) in order to create harmony with other facial features. Additionally, many patients have a chin augmentation in conjunction with rhinoplasty to create a better balance of features. Rhinoplasty is usually performed with local injections of anesthesia with intravenous sedation, or in some cases, under general anesthesia. In rhinoplasty, the majority of incisions are made inside the nose, where they are invisible. In some cases, an incision is made in the area of skin separating the nostrils. Certain amounts of bone and ...

Infratip Lobule Graft - Closed Rhinoplasty Procedure Information Video Luisa had a closed rhinoplasty procedure to correct her narrow internal nasal valve, deviated septum and remove the hump on her nose. This is the footage from her surgery. Enter the operating room as Rhinoplasty Specialist Dr. Paul Nassif adds an Infratip Lobule Graft. Luisa's before and after photos reveal a softer nasal appearance. She has also experienced improvement in breathing. Closed rhinoplasty involves incisions which are confined to the inside of the nose. Though this results in no visible scarring, the procedure offers less visibility of the inside of the nose and is typically not possible for more complex cases. Hump reduction, on the other hand, can be performed with closed rhinoplasty. Dr. Paul S. Nassif is a world renowned facial plastic surgeon in the Beverly Hills - Los Angeles area whose work has been featured on numerous international and national television and print media. He has been featured on such programs as ABC World News Tonight, CBS Morning News, CNN, MSNBC, NBC Evening News, EXTRA!, VH1 and Discovery Health. Dr. Nassif has also been quoted in such publications as the New York Times, Associated Press (world-wide), USA Today, and Los Angeles Times, among others. Spalding Drive Cosmetic Surgery http 120 S. Rhinoplasty Blog, I'm Happy, 100 Days After Surgery, Recovery For the most part I'm doing fine. Some days I'll wake up and my nose will be sore. Other than that I am really happy about my appearance. I'm still hoping that the nostril area will get a little more narrow like the way it was. It's a healing process so it takes time for everything to settle and the swelling to go down. I haven't had any problems with the surgery. I'm Happy. Everything inside seems OK. I am so happy I got to experience this with a staff full of people and a doctor that is so great and I'm glad that I have been a part of everyone that is there. This is my Final Post. The goal of rhinoplasty is to improve the nose aesthetically (without creating a surgical look) in order to create harmony with other facial features. Watch the documentary of my procedure at. http

In the Operating Room - Infratip Lobular Graft during Revision Rhinoplasty Infratip Lobular Grafts are used to create grater lobule definition, projection, counter-rotation, lengthening and camouflage any remaining asymmetries. In most cases one or two lobular grafts with achieve the desired projection of the tip. In revision rhinoplasty the use of multiple grafts is common. Beverly Hills Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon Dr. Paul Nassif, often seen on Dr. 90210, invite's you into the operating room to demonstrate and explain how and why Infratip Lobular Grafts are used. His patient is a young female undergoing a tertiary (her 3rd) revision rhinoplasty procedure. In primary rhinoplasty surgery, the key to preventing complications is the pre-diagnosis of potential anatomical and functional abnormalities. For example, you desire a hump reduction and I identify short nasal bones and a narrow middle vault. My thorough evaluation will warn me that you are at risk for upper lateral cartilage subluxation from the nasal bones (inverted V deformity) and internal valve collapse. http Spalding Drive Cosmetic Surgery and Dermatology 120 S. How the Body Works : The Architecture of the Liver The Architecture of the Liver The liver is the largest organ in the body. Liver tissue is composed of a compact mass of multisided units, known as the hepatic lobules. Each lobule consists of a central vein, which acts as a tributary of the hepatic vein and conducts processed blood away from the lobule, surrounded by plates of liver cells. The liver receives blood from two sources, 80 percent, which carries digested food materials, arrives from the intestine via the portal vein and venules; the remaining twenty percent is oxygenated blood from the heart, which enters through the hepatic artery and arterioles. An exchange of materials takes place between the liver cells and the blood, which then passes into the central veins and returns to the general body circulation via the hepatic vein. Sinusoids, spaces between plates of liver cells composed of tributaries of the hepatic artery and portal vein, conduct the blood flow to the central vein. The bile c***iculus carries bile juice from the liver to branches of the bile duct which convey bile from the lobules to the gall bladder. When an adult is at rest, about two and a half pints of blood flow through the liver each minute.
