Robotic Bottling Line (decanting lids) - Food & Beverage industry Contact: .au canting boxes full of jar lids for a condiment bottling line. Boxes of jar lids arrive by the pallet load. The MOTOMAN robot uses a vision system to "see" which way around the taped seam on each box is positioned, then the robot can take the box and cut correctly along the seam to decant the jar lids which are then fed into a singulation unit that feeds into the bottling line. After decanting the lids, the robot takes the empty box and uses a simple system of poles to break open the other seam and flatten the box into a palletised stack of empties for recycling. Liner tips for Hooded/Heavy Lids Many of you have been asking how to deal with issues of liner smudging or transferring caused by hooded lids. So here is how I deal with this problem, as it is a problem I personally have. EnJoy! NOTE: putting Shelaq on Kohl helps, but it causes the kohl to smudge at first, once set, it helps. I recommend using Styli-STyle THEN sealing with Shelaq - thats the best. Shelaq can be used as sealer in more ways than one. Lid removal to make your own pots In this vid I show how I remove the lids from beer and soda cans to make pots for my alcohol stoves. I've also included some pictures that Dennis from NJ4X4FEVER2 sent to me. To me it looks like he uses a side cutter can opener that cuts into the can beneath the lid. That's a very interesting cover he makes with the top from another Heineken can. Sadly I don't have 24 oz Heinekens around here so I have to make the pot and the lid from the same can. In this vid I also show how I use the lid from a Lifesaver tart can as a secure lid for my pot. Another good video on this topic is from Jason (xsplosive1975).
