Make poverty history The Group of Eight (G8, and formerly the (G6) or Group of Six) is a forum for governments of eight nations of the northern hemisphere: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States; in addition, the EU is represented within the G8, but cannot host or chair. The G8 can refer to the member states or to the annual summit meeting of the G8 heads of government. The former term G6 is now frequently applied to the six most populous countries within the European Union (see G6 (EU)). G8 ministers also meet throughout the year, such as the G7/8 finance ministers (who meet four times a year), G8 foreign ministers or G8 environment ministers. The Make Poverty History campaign (which is branded as MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY) is a British and Irish coalition of charities, religious groups, trade unions, campaigning groups and celebrities who mobilise around the UK's prominence in world politics, as of 2005, to increase awareness and pressure governments into taking actions towards relieving absolute poverty. The symbol of the campaign is a white "awareness bracelet" made of cotton or silicone. Usually on the band the words would be written in black, with the 'Poverty' word a lighter shade. A 'virtual' white band was also available to be displayed on websites. This video was done as a Geography project and updated for Lexica. The song is called How to be Dead by Snow Patrol Lyrics (Thanks to AZ Lyrics): Please don't go crazy, if I tell you the truth No ...

Pi Pi Mathematical Pi Song (Extended Version) This Is The Extended Version Of The Pi Pi Mathematical Pi Song! Written by Antoni Chan and Ken Ferrier. Note, this is not mine. Here are the lyrics to the song! A long, long time ago, Long before the Super Bowl and things like lemonade, The Hellenic Republic was full of smarts, And a question resting on the Grecian hearts was; What is the circumference of a circle?", But they were set on rational numbers, And it ranks among their biggest blunders, They worked on it for years, And confirmed one of their biggest fears, I can't be certain if they cried when irrationality was realised, But something deep within them died, The day, they discovered, Pi. They were thinking; Pi, pi, mathematical pi, 3.14 15 92, 65 35 89 7, 932384 62, 6433832 7 (not rounded). Well this kind of Pi is different than most, It hasn't got berries, ain't spread on toast, And that's how it's always been, We keep extending its decimal places, Pushing our computers through their paces, But we'll never reach the end, So why the fascination with, A number whose end is just a myth? Whence the adulation, For mental masturbation, It might have something to do with the stars, To calculate distances from afar, But that's just a guess 'bout the way things are, Regarding the precision of Pi, I am pondering; Pi, pi, mathematical pi 3.14 15 92 65 35 89 7 932384 62 6433832 7 Now I feel that I should mention, Pi is applicable in any dimension, At least as far as I know, If there were no Pi we'd be missing things, Like ...

LexicaTWO - HD - Ident *NEW* Well, we did it, we did another pointless rebrand.. AGAIN! You know, perhaps one day we should just pick a logo and stick to it. Hopefully this will happen with this rebrand. We decided to keep the same ident (but just replace the logo and the music) rather than doing a full on rebrand because we really do need to start drawing the line at how many times we do this, and starting to make the rebrands less and less of a change each time will ultimately end us on not choosing to rebrand at all. The reason we rebranded is basically a personal reason; I always felt crap and not original for basically completely stealing the Sky2 logo. It doesn't show any talent, it's just theft. So, I made it my own mission to create an original logo. Granted, this new logo still uses the same font, but Sky doesn't own the font, and generally this logo is the most original logo we have ever used here on the channel. This also marks a change in LexicaTwos focus. We used to focus mainly on producing variety content. But now, that honour has been given to LexicaOne. So what happens to LexicaTwo? Well, it will now become a very secondary channel. It will only air specials which will always be related I nsome way to LexicaOne broadcasts. Basically, we will be doing behind the scenes of LexicaOne videos, commentaries, etc. I wonder if anyone actually read all of this description? If you did, please comment lol as I don't think anyone really wants to waste their time reading me babbling on. Still, I ...
Mauricio Kagel: Anagrama (1957/1958) Mauricio Kagel (1931-2008): Anagrama, for four soloists, speaking chorus, and chamber ensemble (1957/1958). Ensemble vocale e strumentale diretto da Mauricio Kagel. Cover image: painting by Gerhard Richter. The composition "Anagrama" for four solo voices, speaking chorus, and instruments, written between February 1957 and November 1958, after preparatory work in Argentina, was given its first performance at the ICMS Festival in Cologne on nth June 1960. Nearly all the speech elements and sounds are derived from the palindrome on gnats and moths (wrongly attributed to Dante): In girum imus nocte et consumimur igni (we circle in the night and are consumed by fire), whose completely symmetrical structure is the equivalent of Webern's late twelve-tone rows. This is not a superficial comparison, for this piece, constructed in five sections and in three levels, represents no less than an attempt to match in vocal music the standard of synthetic sound differentiation based on Webern's work achieved in electronic music of that period. Of course, "Anagrama" at the same time also has its sources in completely different worlds, above all in Romanic- Manneristic Surrealism, but also in the Romantic-Universalistic spirit, which was obsessed with the idea that everything was connected with everything else. Kagel uses German, French, Italian, and Spanish; Latin is reserved for the palindrome, whose vocabulary of sounds (i, n, g, r, u, m, s, o, c, t, e) is extended by transposing the ...

So I want to shift more towards variety content. 15 seconds with Pirate: "Time to take her home..." Saturday's picnic with Lexica was at Dimond Park. Turkey sammiches, thermos of coffee... and Eric Draven? Seriously, I love crows. Think they're beautiful. And I saw a murder of them a few weeks ago kick a lone hawk's ass. Beat it up, treed it, then chased it off and took a feather out it's tail in the process. Organize against bullies, baby!

VAWT great chinese windmill asembling.AVI The Great chinese windmill has been used in China to water the ricefields with a wooden chain weel sqare pallet pump. Such windmills with vertical axle have been very popular since the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644) in the Southeastern Country of China.Today it is not known if any of this windmills are still in use, but up to the eighties of our past century there still might have been working a couple of them in these chinese farmlands. As well as the technique is properbly going to be extinct soon, there has been some effort since 1980 from the Institute of Natural Science in Beijing, China in Collaboration with the Southern Taiwan University to preserve this part of history and craftmanship of China for the coming generations. Among others Tsung-Yi Lin, Deng-Maw Lu, Baichunn Zhang, Li Sun and Zhizong Zhang signed responsible for this important recovery of ancient tecnics. A very few old men from China still able to render skills to build up a new sample was found to build a original size model of this ancient windmill and it is supposed, that this sample is still preserved in good working order, because by now this extraordinary and fully functional giant Chinese great windmill is standing on the campus of the South Courean University since 2006. The first fieldtest took place in Haihe, northern Jiangsu Province. From this and from some very old fotos in the Deutsches Museum and a drawing in Königs lexica of windcraft it was possible to build this copy of a miniature great ...
