  • Arrested for exercising common law rights at unlawful roadblock by Ridge Meadows RCMP After being stopped by an officer obstructing a public road, I immediately handed him a copy of my notice, which was made known to the RCMP over a month previous by signed email, as referenced by BC PPSA Ref # DHJW-101310-PPS, and as handed to the arresting officers immediately preceding this footage. I greeted the officer, "Good evening, peace officer." He said, "I'm a police officer. I smell marijuana". A second officer, at least 6 feet away said, "I know this guy. I smell alcohol." I then turned on my camera and this happened. Notice how I said, "the car is in Drive!" At this time, the officers were frantically reaching into my car, unlocking it, grabbing at my seatbelt and me. There was another car stopped by an officer in front of me. Had I not warned the officers, and had they not heeded my warning and placed the car into Park, someone could have been injured. I mention the Criminal Code not to enter that jurisdiction, but as a courtesy in an attempt to try to find some common ground. The "property" would be the TRUST property and NAME. I firmly believed, and still believe, I had every right to resist with as much force as necessary. Thankfully for everyone, I am non-violent and do not seek conflict, but I do worry about the result of such police actions if taken against someone more aggressively asserting their rights. Immediately following my arrest, without any observation by the officer of my rather rested and alert condition, I was told the car ...

  • Store clerk fights off would be robber holding a shotgun !!!! shottty tug of war Robbery is the crime of seizing property through violence or intimidation. More precisely, at common law, robbery was defined as taking the property of another, with the intent to permanently deprive the person of that property, by means of force or fear;[1] the precise definition of robbery varies between jurisdictions. Common issues in differentiating robbery from simple theft is the degree of force required and when the force is applied. For example, in a purse grab the thief takes a purse off his victim's shoulder. The victim might not have noticed. Whether this is an example of robbery or theft is not clear. What if, in pulling the purse, the victim is pulled to the ground, but still does not have time to offer resistance? Or if the purse strap is cut by the thief with a knife? The answers to these questions will vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. The element of force differentiates robbery from embezzlement, larceny, and other types of theft. Piracy (robbery at sea) is a type of robbery. Armed robbery involves the use of a weapon. Aggravated robbery involves the use of a deadly weapon or something that appears to be a deadly weapon. Highway robbery or "mugging" takes place outside and in a public place such as a sidewalk, street, or parking lot. Carjacking is the act of stealing a car from a victim by force. Criminal slang for robbery includes "blagging" (armed robbery, usually of a bank), and "steaming" (organised robbery on underground ...

  • Keep Off The Grass: Anti-Marijuana Propaganda Film (1969) More films on drugs: The legality of cannabis has been the subject of debate and controversy for decades. Cannabis is illegal to consume, use, possess, cultivate, transfer or trade in most countries. Since the beginning of widespread cannabis prohibition around the turn of the 20th century, most countries have not re-legalized it for personal use, although more than 10 countries tolerate (or have decriminalized) its use and/or its cultivation in limited quantities. Medicinal use of cannabis is also legal in a number of countries, including Belgium, Canada, the Netherlands, Israel and 14 states of the United States. Since the beginning of the twentieth century, most countries have enacted laws affecting the legality of cannabis regarding the cultivation, use, possession, or transfer of cannabis for recreational use. A few jurisdictions have lessened the penalties for possession of small quantities of cannabis, so that it is punished by confiscation and a fine, rather than imprisonment. Punishment focuses more on those who traffic and sell the drug on the black market. Some jurisdictions/drug courts use mandatory treatment programs for young or frequent users, with freedom from "narcotic" drugs as the goal. A few jurisdictions permit cannabis use for medicinal purposes. There are also changes in a more restrictive direction as in Canada or the United Kingdom. Drug tests to detect cannabis are increasingly common in many countries, and have ...

  • Blacks Law, 4th Edition, public sector jurisdiction - defining the word "four" Can you believe these people have defined a word you and i would normally assume to mean "4" as something so odd and so seemingly distant from law itself. I mean... does anyone here actually care to even entertain how the hell a French baker's oven fits into the context of British and the US law and legal systems? Another strange question i could ask here, although of seemingly little apparent connection, is: How the hell did a word meaning "a baker's oven" in French come to be used in English, a language that was originally very similar to French anyway (Angles), to mean the number "4"? Odd!
  • Home is Where the Heart Is? The Question of Jurisdiction (part 2 of 5) Speaker: Douglas Spink Full-quality DVDs of this and every Last HOPE panel are available at store.2600.com A presentation on the subject of corporate legal jurisdictions and related topics. While this sounds boring on the surface, it's actually not - and is more and more relevant every year for those in the tech game. As physical human beings, we do in fact have a "home jurisdiction" in the legal sense, which is wherever we are living at present. However, corporations are also "people" in the legal sense but have a flexibility of where they call home. This ties into areas of international legal issues, corporate governance, privacy of company information, financial systems/banking, personal versus corporate liability, and so on. Basically, for anyone from a coder who wants "a company" to bill his clients through, all the way up to major tech projects that span multiple jurisdictions in a sophisticated way, few of us who play the tech game are not directly impacted by the question of where a company lives, where it calls home.

  • Who Rules America? (Part 8) July 1986 Watch the full interview: Real estate is a legal term (in some jurisdictions, such as the USA, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and The Bahamas) that encompasses land along with anything permanently affixed to the land, such as buildings, specifically property that is fixed in location. Real estate law is the body of regulations and legal codes which pertain to such matters under a particular jurisdiction and include things such as commercial and residential real property transactions. Real estate is often considered synonymous with real property (sometimes called realty), in contrast with personal property (sometimes called chattel or personalty under chattel law or personal property law). However, in some situations the term "real estate" refers to the land and fixtures together, as distinguished from "real property," referring to ownership of land and appurtenances, including anything of a permanent nature such as structures, trees, minerals, and the interest, benefits, and inherent rights thereof. Real property is typically considered to be Immovable property. The terms real estate and real property are used primarily in common law, while civil law jurisdictions refer instead to immovable property. Exercise Mercury 04: Counter-Terrorism Exercise 26 March 2004 The National Counter-Terrorism Committee's multi-jurisdictional counter-terrorism exercise (MJEX) Exercise Mercury 04 has been designed to exercise Australian, state and territory government agencies' ability to prevent, respond and recover from terrorist threats and acts of terrorism simultaneously in multiple jurisdictions. The exercise, which ran from 22 - 26 March 2004, was Australia's largest and most ambitious counter-terrorism exercise ever undertaken. It encompassed four jurisdictions simultaneously - the primary jurisdictions being the Northern Territory and Tasmania, with the secondary being Victoria and South Australia. As part of the Northern Territory jurisdiction, Exercise Mercury was held in the East Timor Gap where a Tactical Assault Group (TAG), an element of A Squadron 5 Aviation Regiment, a RAAF AP3C and HMAS Kanimbla were involved in training to resolve an incident recently. The aim was to test Australia's well-planned and coordinated approach to national security and highlight the strong relationship between the states and territories and the Australian Government. Exercises such as Mercury 04 enhance capability, understanding and interoperability and will contribute to the effectiveness of any response to a real terrorist event.

  • Reporter gets beat up by a man and his wife!!! Reporter gets snuffed Assault is a crime of violence against another person. In some jurisdictions, including Australia and New Zealand, assault refers to an act that causes another to apprehend immediate and personal violence, while in other jurisdictions, such as the United States, assault may refer only to the threat of violence caused by an immediate show of force.[1][2] On the other hand, in Canada, assault can be simply just touching another without their consent. Simple assaults that do not involve any aggravation such as use of a deadly weapon are distinguished from aggravated assaults in some jurisdictions. Assault is often defined to include not only violence, but any physical contact with another person without their consent. In common law jurisdictions, including England and Wales and the United States, battery is the crime that represents the unlawful physical contact, though this distinction does not exist in all jurisdictions. Exceptions exist to cover unsolicited physical contact which amount to normal social behavior known as de minimis harm. In most jurisdictions, the intention to cause grievous bodily harm (or its equivalent) may amount to the mental requirement to prefer a charge of murder in circumstances where the harm inflicted upon the victim proves fatal
