Entry: "In case you thought we'd dissipated into oblivion, or perhaps had taken up residence in the fabled lost city of Atlantis, we have in fact just not been on the net long enough to write anything. Sounds like a bad excuse but actually getting a decent net connection whilst in the UK was a bit of an epic, not to much all our jollying around only really left time for a quick facebook status update. Anyway - we are alive and well! We have a few days off in Norway! We do have more stories to share! And thanks for everybody who has been checking this page regularly, only to find that we haven't uttered a word since our fateful meeting with Mr. Wood almost one month ago... There's plenty to recap here, so I'm gonna try my best and write backwards blogs with backwards dates. Perhaps even with backwards text. THE STONEHENGE SAGA First stop since meeting ol' Ronnie was actually the saga of leaving London for pastures new. We moved out of our plush overpriced apartment on central London and made our way over to the West of England and to the great City of Bath! Bath is a City that we know well, having been there plenty times before to visit my friends who live over there. But the one thing we'd never managed to do - and this includes ...

Entry from: Kumily, India Entry Title: "Kumily" Entry: "Friday 24th February 2006 Kottayam and Kumily Back to the train station and heading inland (for a change) and north to a place called Kottayam. The train journey took 4 and a half hours. We passed the time talking to some young male law students. One of them was hoping to follow his brother to Newcastle, England to study. We could only think of the culture shock his brother would have had when he arrived in England for the first time, then getting used to the weather and then there is the Gordie language to contend with! Nothing much happened is Kottayam in our only night there only to say that we had checked into a hotel on arrival in the afternoon where we dumped the bags and went out to explore town. After doing Internet and MSN with the mummies we went and had a lovely meal in a rather swanky hotel restaurant. On leaving and noticing how hot it was still at 10.30pm, we enquired how much it was to stay one night. A/C double was a snip at 13 pounds. We duly returned to our original hotel room to find that it had turned into a sauna. It was boiling! We immediately donned our backpacks and left for the swanky A/C hotel. We didn't bother with a refund for we only paid about 4 fine English pounds and it was worth it for the laugh we had as we walked ...

Read the full blog here: This blog preview was made by TravelPod using the TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow creator. Entry from: Halong Bay, Vietnam Entry Title: "The junk wasn't completely rubbish" Entry: "Heading to Hao Long Bay with the Hanoi Backpacker crowd, we were hoping for a good tour with plenty of background to the islands in the bay area. We were to be disappointed (Ha wrong can you be? Sorry, we couldn't resist!). Although we had a good time, learned new drinking games and wore daft Mexican hats, we came away knowing nothing more about the place and the significance the islands had during previous wars. We were told by others that they had learned about secret hospitals for injured Viet Cong, hidden in the caves of the bay and had seen floating villages, where some inhabitants had never been to dry land. We did ask if we could go and see the villages, but the 19 year old in charge of our trip (who, we should add, was very competent at organising the crowd of revelers) stared at us blankly and told us they weren't ''all that''. If such villages are not ''all that'' we struggle to fathom what might be. Do not be discouraged though, Ha Long Bay is amazing. Many limestone islands shoot out of the sea in a vast area. As sunset crept in we were treated to a wonderful view of the sun dropping into the sea surrounded by hundreds of picturesque islands. The canoeing which took us into a cave which used be ...
