Bianca Jagger's 2008 Commencement Address At Simmons College International human rights advocate Bianca Jagger told 1100 newly minted Simmons College graduates that the smallest act of courage can save lives, and "perhaps, even change the course of history," at the college's 103rd commencement at the Bayside Exposition Center in Boston. Jagger, currently chair of the World Future Council, the Council of Europe Goodwill Ambassador, and chair of the Bianca Jagger Human Rights Foundation, has a long record of speaking out against inhumanities to human populations, and destruction of the environment. Over the years, she has worked to denounce human rights violations in El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala. As part of a campaign on behalf of indigenous populations in Latin America, she declared a commitment to help save the tropical rain forests and to protect indigenous peoples' historical habitats in the Western Hemisphere. At the May 17 commencement, Jagger told graduates, "you have worked hard to get here. But I must tell you that it is now that the real hard work begins," she said. "Because we are at a crossroads in human history. We face unprecedented threats, both to human security and to the environment. We have witnessed numerous assaults on the rule of law, human rights and civil liberties. And we have entered a dangerous period in world politics, where our politicians are not being held accountable for their deceptions and failures. "We are at a number of 'tipping points' that threaten to foreclose on our common future." She ...

Yossi & Jagger (2002) - Movie Trailer Yossi (Ohad Knoller) is the stoic company commander of an Israeli Defense Forces unit on the Lebanese border. Jagger (Yehuda Levi), who got his nickname thanks to his fun-loving rock star appeal, is the platoon leader. They have a secret. When they walk off in the snow together, it isn't because they're on patrol--it's because they're lovers. Jagger is more gregarious. He tells Yossi that he loves him, and longs to hear Yossi say it back to him. He makes plans for their future together, urging Yossi to leave the army with him when Jagger's mandatory service is done. Yossi can't bring himself to make any promises. "This isn't some. . .American movie," he tells Jagger. The colonel (Sharon Reginiano) arrives with two female soldiers, the irrepressible ***pot Goldie (Hani Furstenberg) and her more introspective friend Yaeli (Aya Koren of Late Marriage), who harbors a serious crush on Jagger, and is herself pursued by Jagger's nosy roommate, Ofir (Assi Cohen). As the unit's perfectionist chef, Yaniv (Erez Kahana) struggles to make a sumptuous meal for the commanding officer with meager supplies, the colonel tells Yossi that Hezbollah forces are expected to cross the border, and the already exhausted unit needs to set up an ambush that night. Yossi & Jagger, directed by Eytan Fox, was a critical and commercial hit in Israel. It was shown at the 2003 Berlin International Film Festival and had its US premiere at the 2003 Tribeca Film Festival. Cast: Ohad Knoller, Yehuda Levi ...

Of those involved were Pete Townshend, Jeff Beck, Carlos Alomar and Herbie Han***, while Jagger would share production duties with Bill Laswell and Nile Rodgers. Mick Jagger - Hard Woman (Subtitled) Like this song? Get the best of Mick Jagger and support the artist here: From the album "She's The Boss", which is the solo album debut by The Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger released in 1985. When The Rolling Stones signed with CBS Records in 1983, one of the options available to them was for individual projects, and Jagger—ready to spread his wings after recording exclusively with his famous band for twenty years—eagerly began working on She's the Boss. Following the release of Undercover, Jagger began composing material for his first solo project, sanctioning the help of various musician friends in the studio when recording began in May 1984. Of those involved were Pete Townshend, Jeff Beck, Carlos Alomar and Herbie Han***, while Jagger would share production duties with Bill Laswell and Nile Rodgers. Keith Richards, Jagger's longtime musical partner in The Rolling Stones, was not pleased that Jagger was pursuing solo work, feeling that their band should be each others' first priority. The growing friction between both musicians would erupt publicly in 1986, before they resolved their differences a couple of years later. She's the Boss was released in February 1985 - preceded by its lead song "Just Another Night". Both the album and its first single became worldwide hits, with "Just Another Night" reaching #1 on the US Mainstream Rock chart and #12 on the US pop chart, and She's the Boss going to #6 in the UK and #13 in the US, where it went platinum ...
