Mozart Requiem K.626. I: Introitus (Klindworth transcription for piano) A first video born in serendipity! Me attempting to play the Introitus of Mozart's Requiem KV 626, in K. Klindworth's transcription for piano solo, on a C. Bechstein upright 1929 piano. Recorded with a Samsung ES70 camera (low resolution, sorry). I am aware the piano needs tuning (and my fingers need more practice and a higher temperature :-) ), but I hope you will enjoy it anyway! Comments, questions, and suggestions welcome! Thanks for watching!

Mozart's Requiem Mass in D Minor I - Introitus and Kyrie John Eliot Gardiner conducts the English Baroque Soloists and the Monteverdi Choir. This performance was filmed at the Palau de la Musica Catalana, Barcelona in Dec. 1991. A Requiem Mass in the Roman Catholic tradition is a service designed to pray for the souls of the departed. The parts of the liturgy that are meant to be sung are what constitute all Requiem Mass compositions, including Mozart's. The structure is as follows: 1. Introit 2. Kyrie 3. Sequence: a. Dies irae b. Tuba mirum c. Rex tremendae d. Recordare e. Confutatis f. Lacrimosa 4. Offertory: a. Domine Jesu Christe b. Hostias 5. Sanctus 6. Benedictus 7. Agnus Dei 8. Lux Aeterna Mozart died before finishing the Requiem Mass, and his wife Constanze gave the task of finishing the work to a pupil of Mozart's named Süssmayr. From the Sanctus onward, the Requiem is the creation of Süssmayr, though he did use portions of the Introit and Kyrie for the Lux Aeterna. Despite, or maybe partially because of, the controversy surrounding this Requiem Mass, it is widely regarded as Mozart's greatest masterpiece. Below is the Latin and the English translation for the Introit and Kyrie. Introit Requiem æternam dona eis, Domine Eternal rest grant unto them, Lord Requiem æternam dona eis Eternal rest grant unto them et lux perpetua and perpetual light et lux perpetua luceat and perpetual light shine luceat eis. shine on them. Te decet hymnus Deus A hymn comes to you in Sion in Zion et tibi reddetur votum in Ierusalem. and to you ...

Mozart - Requiem - Introitus+Kyrie - with virtual instruments and choirs - first HD prelistening. Before I continue, I should say that I have spend about 100 hours on creating this music track. And, I work very effective and fast, creating virtual symphonic music tracks. Mozart's Requiem (KV 626) is my absolute favorite classical music - since more than 30 years! I am not very satisfied with the result yet, and I will work further on this track. However, I believe that most of you have not heard such a quality of virtual instruments and choirs arrangements before. Yes, surely, a real orchestra and choir is better than a 'stupid' virtual instruments mixdown, but it allows me to create some own interpretations of this classical music masterpiece. The tempi of this arrangement are significantly slower than the ones you might have heard on popular classical 'Requiem' CDs before. For me, my tempi reflect a bit more appropriate mourning and sadness. Anyway, I hope you like my first published interpretation of Mozart's Requiem. And of course, it was not possible for me to create the Solo Voice parts. I added them as a choir, sorry. Finally, I have not published this track in the best sound quality. I have added some loudness (multiband-compressor) effects as some kind of my copyright protection and for better mobile and low quality speakers playback. Of course, the original is almost crystal clear and has much better sound dynamics ;) I also did not use any word-builder programs for the choirs, or expression maps for the instruments - this was all manually adjusted by me ...

Mozart Requiem - No. 1 Introitus REQUIEM, K. 626 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) No. 1 Introitus (Requiem aeternam / Kyrie eleison) Mozart's "Requiem" was the first major work of the final program for the 2010-2011 Music & Arts at Providence Concert Series, on June 12, 2011, entitled "From Darkness Into Light." The performance also included "The 142nd Psalm" by Julius Chajes, Rutter's "Requiem," and Russian liturgical anthem "O Gladsome Light" by Alexandre Gretchaninoff, exploring the progression from spiritual darkness and despair through the grieving process of death toward the hope and joy of heaven in God's light and presence. Terry Stoneberg, conductor Linda Kiemel, soprano Linda Maguire, mezzo-soprano Aurelio Domínguez, tenor Gene Kaye, bass Jane Moore Kaye, organist Music & Arts Chorus & Orchestra Providence Presbyterian Church "Where Life and Faith Connect" 9019 Little River Turnpike Fairfax, Virginia 22031 PROGRAM NOTES: Mozart set the traditional Requiem Mass text with great grandeur. It is one of the most powerful examples of minimal forces producing maximum result. There are no woodwinds except basset horns (alto clarinet) and bassoons -- no flutes, oboes or horns -- with only a pair of trumpets and trio of trombones for brass, timpani the only percussion, organ, and the traditional complement of strings completing the orchestration. Mozart begins with a somber setting of "requiem dona eis" (rest eternal grant to them), followed by a traditional fugue setting ...

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Requiem: Introitus: Requiem Aeternam "Requiem Aeternam" from Mozart's Requiem. Solists are: Margaret Price, Trudeliese Schmidt, Francisco Araiza and Theo Adam. Painting by: Peter Paul Rubens ("Franz Xavier")
Mozart - Requiem: I. Introitus: Requiem Aeternam Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Requiem Mass in D minor KV 626 (completed by Franz Xaver Süssmayer, revised edition by Franz Beyer) Nikolaus Harnoncourt (conductor) Concentus Musicus Wien (orchestra) Arnold Schönberg Chor (choir) Gerald Finley (bass) Kurt Streit (tenor) Bernarda Fink (alto) Christine Schäfer (soprano) I didn't like Harnoncourt's previous Requiems all that much, but this one is amazing: From the lush, full SACD sound of the (perfectly played) live recording to the stunning balance between the harsh, dramatic and the quiet, mourning parts. He's using the newest critical edition of the Süssmayer Requiem completion, which makes for a sleeker, cleaner and at times harsher orchestration, closer to that of the Introitus - but it leaves the Süssmayer parts intact otherwise, there is no Amen fugue after the Lacrimosa. But it's not just the revised score that makes this one stand out, the playing of the Concentus Musicus is precise when it needs to be, soften when the score calls for it - I've never heard trombones this piercing in the Dies Irae before, truly apocalyptic, the strings in the Confutatis and Rex Tremendae are crushing, raw - no trace of the saccharine, overly romanticized Requiems of the past (Karajan is spinning in his grave, goofy tracksuit and all), here all the mourning is laced with sheer terror. The Arnold Schönberg Choir is excellent as usual and the recording captures its color perfectly. As for the soloist, Gerald Finley and Christine Schäfer stand ...
Requiem for Fossil Fuels Part One Introitus Bruce Odland and Sam Auinger (O+A) performed their composition Requiem for Fossil Fuels, an "8 channel orchestra of cities" at the Ear to the Earth 2007 festival in New York City. Performance featured singers Mezzo-Soprano Hai-Ting Chinn, New York Soprano Martha Cluver, Bass Baritone Joshua Smith, and Tenor John Young; and was presented by the Electronic Music Foundation (EMF). "There come times in life when the passing of great events requires formal acknowledgment to assist in their comprehension. As we face the passing of our fossil fuel dependent way of life, we hope to gain insight by examining the sounds of our culture through the lens of the Requiem Mass." — O+A Description of the Requiem for Fossil Fuels concert from artists O+A website: Materials for Requiem for Fossil Fuels come from O+A's "alphabet of sounds". This collection of recordings is the result of an ongoing search for a "Hearing Perspective" of the sounds we make as a culture. Each section of Requiem for Fossil Fuels uses a location recording and its real-time flow as a cantus firmus. Over this cantus firmus, or baseline song, come soloistic voices of helicopters, jets, traffic, busses, horns, train wheels, footsteps of commuters, sirens: the found "Voices" of a fossil fueled culture organized as music. O+A have constructed this playable digital orchestra of extraordinary sonic voices extracted from cities around the world. Requiem for Fossil Fuels is the culmination of twenty years of ...

Visions from the 41st Millennium: Introitus A hundred thousand worlds, ten hundred thousand wars. There is no respite, there is nowhere to hide. Across the galaxy there is only war. This is a collage in the style of Litany of Fury that serves as an introduction ("introitus") to the "album" Visions from the 41st Millennium that I am making. However, I am not as concerned as picking out the best quotes as I was during the making of Litany of Fury, but rather those that would best portray the waking nightmare universe of the 41st Millennium. It is primarily from the human point of view, as those are the eyes through which we often glimpse that universe - and, as humans, we can relate the most to. In short, this track is meant to embody the perpetual state in which the W40K universe exists: War within, war without, war unchanging.
