Scholastic Books - The Royal Diaries - Eleanor, Crown Jewel of Aquitaine Four***-year-old Eleanor of Aquitaine lives in a castle in Poitier, France, with her father Count William of Aquitaine (son of William the Conqueror), and her 12-year-old sister Petronilla. Their mother died several years earlier, so their grandmother and ladies-in-waiting raise the girls. Eleanor is extremely intelligent and literate, having been carefully educated by royal tutors. Spinning bores her, as does weaving, sewing, and other housewifery skills expected of her. She would rather be a knight and ride off to war. In fact, in 1136, when her father is invited to help invade Normandy. "sm"
Artificial Housewife An explorational document investigating conflicted expectations of a twenty-six year old woman in northeastern United States. In a culture of ***ual modesty, I sought clarity of understanding in my age's influence on my personal relationships. I was left with a deeper understanding of the burden and satisfaction of servitude. And perhaps, that Housewifery is not in my trajectory.

Kate Pendry - "The Atomic Housewife 1955" From the installation "Charlie Pendry's Talking Heads', (c)1999) featuring ten 'dead' characters - one from each decade of the 20th century. Pendry wrote and performed all the 'heads'. The Atomic Housewife is simply a verbatim performance of a Guide To Good Housewifery (circa1956), plus a darker Pendry subtext - naturally.

Westminster Wife Show Conflict erupts in a sleepy Middle American town when a ***y young entrepreneur inherits the community's beloved annual pageant and attempts to transform it into a bawdy nationally televised spectacle. The Westminster Wife Show has been a tradition in Colorado for more than fifty years and the definitive showcase for the very best in suburban housewifery. This year, instead of the more traditional pageantry of years past, the new Westminster Wife Show has been jam packed with drama, skin and cut-throat competition, transforming this sacred American ritual into a bankable commodity that would make PT Barnum proud. Follow a film crew as they capture the trials and tribulations of six ordinary couples as they train and scheme their way to the coveted title "Mrs. Westminster." Witness the blood, sweat and tears as one man turns his small town dreams into big-time reality TV.

Mickey Mouse Monopoly 2/5 A documentary about Disney. At about 7:01 they make a dig at housewifery which I think is unfair, ignorant, and just plain stupid. There are many women who love being housewives and think it is ridiculous that women vie with men in the workplace. Disney is twisted, and so are some of these "experts" in the documentary. Don't be fooled.

Aural Elixir Piano Ninja Ep 4 "housewife" at Super Joe's Cafe Housewife is a song inspired by both Virginia Woolf's, "A Room Of One's Own" & the John Waters' movie, "Polyester." This video is a virtual taste of the sonic environment at Super Joe's! haha, i was a little grumpy for this one because someone (and many of us know who!) couldn't be bothered to get off his computer to press the on/off button for me. i should hire an intern...a la George Costanza! I'm so George sometimes, it's a little embarrassing, but oh well. Hello intern interviews, goodbye housewifery! lyrics: It's too late for coffee & I'm too tired for tea. If I eat any more chocolate, I might be sick. I've been watching tv for 30 hours, haven't thought of it yet, what was it I was s'posed ta forget? guess i've got case of 'em. These layers I'm wearing, they might keep me warm. But I wanna rip off skin & bone. So I could be air walking, everywhere, I'm aware of everything, I don't even have to breathe. But I'm trapped in Polyester & something smells like cat piss I'm constantly hungry, nothing feeds my needs. I've made my own chains I could break them again & make out with life or stay safe as a wife. Maybe I should change my housecoat or the color of my hair Paint my nails, shave my legs, maybe get me a new pair of shoes and a purse to match. all this and still keepin' time to get dinner ready for my man when he gets home, when's he comin', when's he comin' home? And isn't it great to be owned? I don't have a room of my own He doesn't boss me too much. I only bruise ...

Sorta Healthy Pasta This is me making my alternative pasta sauce of grilled zukes and garlic (and other stuffez) pureed in the food processor. This isn't a how to. It's spliced in quick 1-2 second spurts. And my daughter Raquel has a cameo at the end doing a taste test. I usually use baby spinach, too, for added color and nutrients but Hubby forgot to pick it up (even tho I gave him a shopping list!). I have lost 40 lbs by getting creative in the kitchen. Woohoo!
