Headland High / Paul D.West Middle East Point Ga. Final Visit. Hello Healdand Highlanders and Paul D. West Panthers. On June 8, 2002, there was a sale at the original Headland High School / Paul D. West Middle School buildings in East Point, Georgia, USA. You could buy whatever wasn't fastened down. I bought a National Geographic volume that included a story about 4 cyclists who were trying to bike the western hemisphere. They went on to start Bikecentennial, now known as Adventure Cycling Association. I also got a power strip, a really long Ethernet cable, and a few other small, useful things. Paul Chambers, whose mom, aunts and uncles all attended Headland, joined me for this adventure. Also, you can see HHS graduate Barry Young near the beginning. Thanks for being in my video, Barry! Same to you, Paul! The new buildings on that site look sharp, but you have to admit, there was something cool about having a round cafeteria, hanging out on the open breezeways (in the days before it became Paul D. West) and enjoying the swimming pool under the gym (yeah, right!). After the campus became Paul D. West, the breezeways were enclosed and an elevator was installed between the north and south wings, not too far from the cafeteria. HHS students, can you imagine having an elevator? PDW students, can you imagine being in those buildings in the early and late parts of the school year with no air conditioning like most HHS students had to tolerate? We used a lot of box fans. The Trial (of Ramush Haradinaj) by Headland Pictures In September 1998, at the end of the Balkan wars, the Serbian military discovered 37 dead bodies in a concrete c*** in western Kosovo. Sever years later, the Prime Minister of Kosovo would be falsely accused of their murder.
