Hambone_Color.mov Rare footage of Sandy Becker's Hambone in COLOR!! HAMBONE HAMBONE HAVE YOU HEARD? In 1973, CBS wanted Sandy Becker's crazy DJ character HAMBONE to spin off into his own Saturday morning cartoon wrap-around series. Sandy didn't have much faith in the concept, thinking rightly that Hambone was cool because he was a "non-sequitor." And he was right. BUT! Sandy gave us the footage, and it's an ultra-rare opportunity to see Hambone's costume in blue, instead of the usual black and white (which in reality was really Red!) You can see a shot of the RED costume here: We have more color clips - - let us know if you'd like to see them.

Hambone Kneeslap This amazing Hambone performance by Samuel Hicks starts out at a normal pace and then increases in tempo to a blazing finish. Shot in North Carolina back in early 1990's while visiting my brother. Enjoy!

"21st Century Hambone" by Sean Frenette Exploring the microcosmos of tiny sounds amplified in my super-quiet studio apartment, I discovered a new potential for traditional hambone by manipulating the sounds of scratching my shirt, tapping on the cavity of my chest, and tapping my foot on the floor. Using only an equalizer to bring out certain frequencies, all the sounds you hear are from my body, no over-dubbing was done. Sounds best on a stereo with decent bass amplification or headphones; no laptop speakers. Enjoy and look for more microcosmos music to come.
