  • Spineless Prickly Pear and a Night Blooming Cereus This is a Spineless Prickly Pear (Opuntia cochenillifera) but despite the name it has tiny glochids which are needle-like hairs like slivers of glass. There are glochid-free varieties of this which are hard to find. The pads of this prickly pear are edible and there are several ways they can be prepared.
