The Gems - I'll Be There This is another performance filmed for my now legendary documentary, "The Strange World Of Northern Soul". The Gems were a New York girl group in the 1960s, led by original lead singer Louise Bethune. She did a fabulous job getting the group back together with two originals and one replacement girl. This song, "I'll Be There", on Riverside Records, was a huge record at Blackpool Mecca. Contrary to what Kev Roberts said in his book, Northern Soul's Top 500", the Gems on Chess records, led by Minnie Ripperton, were a totally separate group, and these girls never recorded outside of New York. I filmed and interviewed over three hundred people and 131 artists performing their Northern Soul classic songs, for a six disc DVD box set extravaganza, called "The Strange World Of Northern Soul", with twenty four hours of footage, including some rare footage of the Motorcity reunion. The project started in 1997, was released on VHS tape and premiered to 1300 people at the King George's Hall in Blackburn in July 1999, then took four more years to refine and re-edit into its DVD release in 2003. It can be a very dangerous procedure but the effect are really smooth finishing that looks authentic and 'store-bought' =) I've been toying with the idea of doing something amazing with hot glue since first discovering the glue 10 over years ago as a kid. I never thought cosplay would one day allow me to XD. As I just couldn't find an Alastor necklace of the right size online and didn't have time to order from Cospa. My last resort was to handmade it. PS2 Underrated Gem: Ico This is a series of gameplay vids I'm doing highlighting overlooked games for the PS2. OK, here it is the most overrated underrated gem of all time. I'm not saying it's a bad game. in fact its a damn great game, but I am saying that it's kinda iffy to put on as a lesser known game after every gaming magazine and website under the sun has given this their top spot for most underrated game of all time. Ico is an awesome game, and should be experienced by everyone, but as far as it being lesser know, or overlooked, I don't think it falls into that category anymore. When it first hit it was definitely overlooked, but now that people have been tooting their horns for years about this game, I think that most gamers have heard of this game. Ico is a great game, a short one, but great nonetheless, and I don't want people to think I'm criticizing the game for not being as good as it's said to be, because it is an awesome game. I'm just saying that it's not exactly unknown by any stretch of the imagination. Ico is only available on the PS2. Also look into Shadow of the Colossus it's semi-sequel. Shadow sold well enough to be a greatest hit, so I won't be putting it on my underrated gems list, but it's also a great game.

Finding Gold XVI - Oregon's Golden Gem - Sunstone Mining for locations and more. How to find Oregon's official state gemstone, the sunstone, in the desert area of Plush. These gemstones are the same as seen on the Travel Channel's Cash and Treasures TV show, cut, and subsequently valued by Bonhams at $9000+ Gold and platinum are 15-19 times heavier than other streambed materials and concentrate in low pressure areas and cracks that run across rivers and streams. You look for a crack on the bank, and follow it out until you meet the "gold line" and there you suck it out with your dredge. Gold will be on the outside edge of a river gravel bar, at the head of the bar (large gold but usually beneath big boulders), and at the tail end of a bar (vast concentrations due to river bars forming in the shape of an airfoil and sucking fine gold to the tail end) but be small to microscopic at the tail end. Gold will travel down a river or stream in a line, usually off center of the high pressure water. Gold will settle behind a boulder. A good place to fish, can also be an excellent place to find gold. "Black sand" is iron ore that can be readilly identified in gravel bars and is a ready indicator that gold is probably present. The most effective and economical way for the average person to find paying concentrations of gold in a river or stream is with a simple ($80) sluice that you shovel into and the riffles retain gold, platinum, gems and anything heavy for you. Gold can be found up high on the old river channels ...

In 1965, when the group was still together, he embarked on a solo career that didn't parallel the chart success of the Browns. Surprisingly, Jim Ed never achieved a solo No. 1 single. Brown and his older sister, Maxine, began performing while he was still in high school. In 1954, the duo signed a contract with Fabor, releasing five singles on the label. Later that year, their sister Bonnie joined the duo and they became the Browns. From 1956 until 1967, the Browns were signed to RCA Records, where they had a number of moderately successful hit singles, highlighted by the 1959 number one "The Three Bells." The Browns disbanded two years after Jim Ed began his solo career. Initially, Jim Ed didn't have much chart success and just scraped the bottom of the top 40. After the Browns disbanded, Jim Ed began to have more substantial hits, beginning with "You Can Have Her" (No. 18, 1967). At that time, he was recoerding under the name of Jim Edward Brown.
