  • Leopard geckos not eating? Make The Slurry, by Golden Gate Geckos This should only be used if your gecko has not eaten for a long period of time. In a blender, combine: *1 small can Hill's A/D pet food (available at most vets) ¼ cup Ensure (not chocolate) 1 jar baby food squash or pumpkin ¼ cup Pedialite *2 tabs or contents of 2 capsules milk thistle (herbal supplement, liver purifier, found at most drug stores). *2 tabs or contents of 2 capsules of Acidophilus (GI system probiotic, found at most drug stores). 1 tsp. calcium powder w/Vitamin D3 1/2 tsp. herp vitamin powder 2-4 X-large handful of mealworms, added slowly while mixture is blending until it is about the consistency of a milkshake. *optional ingredients Puree all ingredients until completely smooth. Pour into ice cube tray(s) and freeze. Store cubes in zip-lock bag in the freezer until ready to use, then thaw out 1 cube at a time and store in fridge for 2-3 days. You can use the empty baby food jar for this purpose, washing it thoroughly after each use. Using this mixture, draw a full 1ml dropper (eye dropper type) or a syringe and place a drop on the gecko's nose, being careful not to plug the nostrils. Be patient and do not force-feed! The gecko will lick it of its nose, and as it does, slowly squeeze out a little at a time. Most geckos love this food, and will lap it up.

  • Vicious TOKAY GECKO Biting My Underwear Before you let your imagination run amuck... I drop the undies into the tank to get his attention so he attacks them and then I can grab him. I am not wearing my undies when this tokay gecko attacks me. This is a vicious tokay gecko that seems like it could rip a mouse-head off. Watch him attack my blue towel - twice. I can't believe he jumped up and attacked it. When Tokays bite they don't let go. Sometimes not for 30 minutes. My friend Tom held one underwater to get it to let go - guess what. DIDNT LET GO! They're sick these things. This is footage from some months back. I just realized I never made a video of this tokay attacking stuff. It is brutal and not suited for all members of the family. Don't let your kids see my white undies, that's just not right. Tokays are plentiful in Thailand at the moment, but there is a big problem because some idiots in Malaysia believe that eating the tokay's tongue is a cure for AIDS. There are thousands of Tokays being taken out of Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia, Indonesia, etc... to sell to people as an AIDS cure. Are people that damn dumb? Or that damn desperate?

Each of these hairs is attracted to the wall by an intermolecular force called the van der Waals force, and this allows the gecko's feet to adhere. Stickybot, developed by Mark Cutkosky and his team at Stanford University in California, has feet with synthetic setae made of an elastomer. These tiny polymer pads ensure a large area of contact between the feet and the wall, maximising the van der Waals stickiness.
