Lancing an Abcess - Gallons of Pus This cow had a festering superficial abcess for the last few months. Working on the advice of the local Veterinary office, I decided today was the time to open it up since the soft spot developed over the last few days. The Hospital area was bedded with dried solids and is cleaned up daily. The knife was sanitized before hand and wasn't dull like it was mentioned in the video. Sometimes the soft spot is like tissue paper and other times they can be a little tough. Several gallons of putrid fluid poured out . The area was then cleaned up and the cow was let back out. Within a few weeks everything will be back to normal. These heal rather quickly. I intend to follow up with more video of this cow to show her progression.

These modular units are constructed onsite, wrapped with layers of geotextile fabric and a impervious liner, and then covered. This system can be stacked up to 5 units tall which is 7.5'. We installed a submersible pump in the storage volume and connected it to a pump start relay controller so the pump will only turn on when the irrigation controller signals the pump start relay. This system is collecting from roughly 10000 square feet of collection surface and has the capacity to collect about 200000 gallons of rainwater per year.

During the project we will choose more items, keep track of the nutritional profile and discuss vacuum sealing, mylar bags and oxygen absorbers. I have four tangs and 16 mixed cromis, one lawnmower blennie, one diamond goby, two clown fish, two cardnals and lots of crabs and snails. Tank hardware is , two Euro-Reef RS-250 skimmers, one Geo 6-18 calcium reactor controlled by a litermeter III dosing pump and Reef-fanatic PH controller. one Geo Kalkwasser Reactor controlled by a litermeter III dosing pump. two Precision Marine media reactors one has GFO in it and one has carbon in it. one JBJ arctica 1/3 HP chiller, my lighting system is a Current fixture with three 250watt Metal Halide HQI double end bulbs, 8 T5 bulbs and 24 leds for night lights. My return pump is a Mag 18. Two powerheads in display tank are Hydor Koralia Magnum 7's controlled by a Red sea wavemaker. Refugium is 50 gallons with 50 pounds of live rock rubble and lots of macro algae, the refugium has a 96watt 65K light fixture above it. I monitor the Display tank and sump PH with two Pinpoint PH monitors. I have two large back-up battery systems for the reef tank there cyber-power 1500AVR's one will run the return pump for 5 to 7 hours and the other one wil run the heaters and powerheads for 8 to 10 hours. 1200 gallon reef at 9000 feet is the source for all your reef aquarium news. This is a video of Stephen Hurlock's 1200 gallon reef aquarium about 2 months after setup. The new tank is 10' long by 5' wide by 3' tall. This is an upgrade of the previous 600 gallon reef which was in it's place. Much of the livestock is from that previous tank as well as harvested from the local Denver CO reef aquarium community. The water is circulated within the aquarium exclusively with 8 Vortech pumps, with only four on at one time working to spin the entire water mass in a gyre-like motion. The vortechs are placed inside a custom designed dry cavity next to the overflow box. There is over 5000 watts of lights, mostly halides with a few VHO actinics.

A bit of background: Before 1965 American quarters (half dollar coins, dollar coins, etc.) were 90% silver. They were a medium of exchange like today's quarters but also had the intrinsic value of the silver they were made of. When you were given a quarter (pre-1965), you were given something of actual value--specifically it had the value of 0.18 oz of silver. The government no longer makes money with intrinsic value (because then they couldn't steal the value of your money via inflation) and today quarters are made mostly of copper. A quarter today is worth only whatever "25 cents" will buy and that continually changes for the worse as the government increases the money supply over time.
