Supt. Froilan Bonifacio, Makati chief of police, said the five have been charged for violating the Anti-Hazing Law. The suspects, who surrendered voluntarily, were identified as John Marin and Michael Pagulayan, both 19 years old; Rosel Wenceslao, 18, all students of UMak; and Rico Mansalapus, 31, an alumnus of the school. The name of the fifth suspect was withheld because he is a minor. But Bonifacio said he faces the same charges and will be turned over to the city social welfare office. The police official added that the suspects admitted they were present when EJ Karl Intia, 19, was allegedly subjected to hazing. There were other names in the charge sheet, but Bonifacio refused to divulge their identities pending their arrest. "We have been receiving surrender feelers from the other suspects. But we will wait for the court to issue warrants for their arrest since we already filed charges against them," he told Inquirer. The Manila Police District homicide division said they received reports that Tau Gamma Phi (Triskelion) fraternity severely beat up 15-year-old Noel Borja Jr. during initiation rites upon learning that his parents are supporters of the rival Alpha Kappa Rho (Akrho) fraternity. Borja's body was stuffed inside a steel drum filled with cement, which was then set afloat near the Parola, Tondo area of Manila Bay. Police said Ferdinand Palacio, chapter head of Tau Gamma Phi, will face charges of violating the anti-hazing law for Borja's death. Palacio, who surrendered to MPD authorities, has admitted that Borja was not able to handle the hazing and died Sunday night. Police said the owner of the house where the initiation rite was conducted will also face charges. Authorities are also on the lookout for 12 Tau Gamma members who participated in the rite
