Bucky, our border collie, 6 days after right forelimb amputation. Bucky is adapting to his amputation and is getting along slowly as a Tripawd. It has only been 6 days since amputation and we have only had him home one day. Amputation was a result of myxosarcoma in his right shoulder. CT scan was done to rule out spread of cancer prior to amputation.

Forelimb Amputee in K-9 Cart Dog Wheelchair Plays Catch Becky lost her front limb. But now with her K-9 dog wheelchair, she can play catch again. Normal walking tired her until she got her dog wheelchair. Now her owners have to limit her time in the dog wheelchair lest she is too active. She can now run on "walk"s with the other two dogs in the household. Watch how obsessed she is with the ball. The video was taken after she has tired a lot so that they could actually catch her on film. She is so crazy with a frisbee that it has been banished to the loft! Becky is one amazing dog with wonderful owners.

Dissecting the forelimb of a horse As part of my Equine Science degree at Hartpury college we are looking at the functional anatomy of equine locomotion. To further understand the way in which the tendons, ligaments and bones allow for movement we dissected the forelimb to see the different layers. This video shows the whole process and if you are squeamish it may be better not to watch this! Hope you enjoy and learn something :) Thanks to my lovely tutor for guiding us through the process and continuing to teach us in-depth about the horse. Also to my lab partner for filming the process and letting me do my first ever dissection on my own!

Forelimb Amputee "Becky" in Dog Wheelchair on the News Becky had arthritis that was so severe that she lost her front limb. In order to prevent further damage to her remaining limbs, she spends some of her time in a custom K-9 dog wheelchair. Like most dogs, she gets around quite well on three legs, but her dog wheelchair will prevent her from putting too much stress on her remaining legs. Gidget, a forelimb amputee, in a K9 Cart wheelchair Gidget is a forelimb amputee that is shown in the first day after receiving her K9 Cart. With her dog wheelchair, she quickly learns to walk (and run) with a more normal gait. Thus, she is no longer redistributing extra stress to her other three limbs. We are sure this will be of benefit as Gidget ages. To see more videos of K9 carts, pet wheelchairs, and our senior and handicapped accessories, go to www.k-9

Calculated Segmental Forces in a Walking Horse This is an animation from my PhD. It shows the forces exerted by various tendons and joints in a 2D model of an equine distal forelimb. The data is a single stride of walking.

Equine Distal Forelimb; Tendons and Ligaments A computer-generated movie that accompanied my PhD thesis. The movie shows many of the major tendons and ligaments in the equine distal forelimb. The models of the bones were created from real equine limb bones using in-house photogrammetric software that I wrote. The bones were imported into Blender, and the ligaments and tendons were modeled by hand. Finally, a custom RenderMan exporter script was used to export the models and camera animations to the Aqsis renderer.
