Fishing Knot STRENGTH TEST - Braid Fishing Line to Monofilament and Fluorocarbon Leader Fishing Knot STRENGTH TEST on the knot I use for attaching my braided fishing line to monofilament and fluorocarbon leaders. This knot has worked very well for me and has counted for many large striped bass and bluefish without ever letting me down. This video speaks about comments I have recieved on my "HOW TO Tie BRAIDED Fishing Line to MONOFILAMENT or Fluorocarbon Leader" video I posted this past winter. Although that video has recieved a fairly positive response there have been some comments regarding the knots strength while others commenters have mentioned the knot does not hold at all when using with fluorocarbon leader material. This video tests the strength of the knot connecting to Power Pro braided fishing line and SeaGuar fluorocarbon leader material as well as monofilament. Both finished lengths are then put on my Boga Grip scale to check the breaking points of the knot or line. I'm happy with the way the knot help up although it didn't really get stressed as the 30lb test Power Pro braid broke at approximately 20lbs each time. HOW TO Tie BRAIDED Fishing Line to MONOFILAMENT or Fluorocarbon Leader- Easy and Strong Fishing Knot Video demonstrates a very easy and strong fishing knot for connecting braided line to your monofilament leader. This fishing knot is very strong and is easy to tie. The knot is very similar to the Albright, technically the Reverse Albright but with the addition of the Surgeons Loop to close off the braid instead of having the open loop In the past I had used barrel swivels for my monofilament leaders and ran into problems with the barrel getting hung up in the rods tip and breaking the guide's ring. This knot when finished has a very low profile and goes through the guides on my fishing rods very cleanly. The striped bass and bluefish I target fishing the Fire Island Inlet in New York have put this knot to the test over the past several years and I have not had the knot fail at all.
