The third dandelion shown in the video has two kinds of mutations in one plant: a single stem branches into two stems; one is a "normal" looking flower, while the other is fasciated and double-headed. • Mutated dandelions - Grand Rapids, MI 4/29/12 Four days in a row, I have found fasciated dandelions in Grand Rapids, in three separate locations. On 4/26/12 and 4/27/12, I found a total of three fasciated dandelions in a vacant lot near my house. (Video of the 4/27 find: ) On 4/28, as I was loading my musical equipment into the bar where I was playing a show, I checked out a small strip of weeds next to the bar's parking lot and immediately found the fasciated dandelion featured in the first part of this video. After watching two of Christina Consolo's videos documenting numerous fasciated dandelions she had recently found in 3 locations in the Detroit area, on April 26 I decided to check out a large dandelion patch I had noticed in a mall parking lot near my house. Consolo's videos: "More Michigan Mutations from Fallout 4.21.2012" - "Mutated Dandelions in Schoolyard Dearborn MI 4.23.2012" - When I searched the dandelion patch, I found two fasciated ones. The next day, I returned to the patch and found another one; this time, I filmed it and uploaded the video to YouTube. The day after that, while loading my musical equipment into a bar for a gig, I noticed another fasciated dandelion next to the parking lot. • Birding Ecuador Part V; The South & Southeast Covers Feb 19-24, places visited are Utuana, Cerro Toledo, Tapichalaca, Copalinga Lodge, Bombuscaro NP and Old Zamora-Loja Rd. Except for some really nice Hummingbird- and Antpitta-footage I'm ashamed to admit it's almost a slideshow. I simply didn't get time for both photography AND video. The sound seldom fits with the birds, so don't think I've put correct birdcalls together with the photos. Mostly I've used the soundtracks from "social" footage, roughly from the same place as the photos were taken. That said I can tell you about some of the featured birds. You'll se Chestnut-collared Swallow, Speckled Hummingbird, Rainbow Starfrontlet, Purple-throated Sunangel, White-throated Quail-Dove, Chestnut-naped Antpitta and Jocotoco Antpitta and a Barred Fruiteater in very bad light. Mammals are, of course The Boys; Jonas Nilsson, first class birdguide, and Håkan my travel companion. And a VERY distant Spectacled Bear... Photos show Golden-crowned Tanager, Gray-chested Montain-Toucan, Black-throated Tody-Tyrant, Fasciated Tiger-Heron, Spangled Coquette, Lanceolated Monklet, Coppery-chested Jacamar, Ornate Flycatcher, Paradise Tanager, White-tipped Sicklebill, Semi-collared Hawk and Oilbird.

On 8/24/12, Christina Consolo began finding mutated flowers for sale in grocery stores in the Detroit area: This inspired me to look for mutated flowers at grocery stores in my area. As of 10/7/12, I have documented mutated gerbera daisies for sale at seven grocery stores in the Grand Rapids area. I have been documenting mutated plants in the Grand Rapids area since 4/26/12, ever since I read the following article featuring Consolo's videos documenting the 2012 plant mutation trend: Link to my photo album of the mutated black eyed susans I have documented in 20 different locations in Grand Rapids since 6/30/12: s175 Link to my main photo album of mutated plants I have documented in the Grand Rapids area in 2012: s175 Link to my collaborative documentary-playlist of mutated plants found in the Northern Hemisphere since April 2012: (Hit "Play all" to view the complete documentary.) • 3 5-Leaf Clovers & 8 4-Leaf Clovers - Grand Rapids, MI 5/31/12 This video documents some of the 5-leaf clovers and 4-leaf clovers found by Gregory Mann on 5/12/12 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. On 5/24/12, a mutual friend - who was was aware of my recent series of videos documenting mutated dandelions and clovers around the Grand Rapids area - introduced us, since Mann had told him about the clovers he had found. Mann then told me about the clovers he had found, and on 5/31/12 I visited the yard where he had found the clovers and documented them in this video. (Note: Since it was lightly raining during my visit, Mann held up an umbrella over both of us as I filmed the clovers.) Apparently, fasciated dandelions and mutated clovers are extremely easy to find this year: Other photos of 2012 mutations are compiled on Christina Consolo's Mutation Watch page on Facebook: Link to my collaborative documentary of fasciated dandelions and mutated clovers found in the Northern Hemisphere since April 2012: (Hit "Play all" to view the complete documentary.) - Jim Prange 5/31/12
