  • Albert Roussel - Æneas - Final Hymn: The Roman People Albert Roussel (1869-1937) Æneas, ballet in one act, Op. 54 Final Hymn: The Roman People (unknown performers) Æneas, Roussel's last major work for the stage as well as for orchestra, was composed in March-April 1935 at the request of conductor Herman Scherchen, for a World Exposition that same year in Belgium. Unlike Roussel's two previous ballets, The Spider's Banquet (1912) and Bacchus et Ariane (1930), he wrote Æneas to a libretto by the Belgian poet Joseph Weterings that included texts for chorus, and ended with a "Final Hymn: The Roman People." By 1935, however, Rome was the capital of Mussolini's Fascist dictatorship. Typically of the French (Berlioz and Saint-Saëns had suffered a similar fate), Paris didn't produce Æneas until 1938 — three years after the Brussels premiere, one year after the composer's death, and one year before the outbreak of World War II. Hymns to the Roman People (even the poet Virgil's) were insufferable until the late 1940s, by which time Pierre Boulez and André Hodeir had begun their campaign in France to discredit tonal music, and Neo-Classicism in particular. Æneas languished despite its manifold musical strengths, unrecorded until 1969, and then only once, by Jean Martinon and the RTF National Orchestra and chorus, on Erato. Just as Bacchus et Ariane followed on the heels of Roussel's Third Symphony in the same exultantly athletic style, Æneas followed the Fourth (and final) Symphony of 1934. Continuing in the Neo-Classic mold that ...
  • Heer Warris Shah Part 1 ( inayat hussain bhatti ) by Feeka Jatt Heer Waris Shah Part 1 ( inayat hussain bhatti ) In this Part..... Ranjha quarrels with his brothers and their wives and leaves his home in Takht Hazara Takht Hazara is a pleasant place on the banks of the river Chenab. It is the abode of the Ranjhas who live there in proud luxury. Mauju Chaudhri was chief land owner in the village. He had eight sons and two daughters.Of all his sons Ranjha was the most beloved of his father; and as his father loved him, so his brethen hated him. Now it came to pass on the Night of Nights that the leaves of the Tree of Life were shaken and by the decree of God, Mauju died. After Mauju's death, the good land was given to the brothers and the land barren and inhospitable land was given to Ranjha: and Ranjha's enemies flapped their arms exultantly and said, 'Now Ranjha's brethren have entangled him in a net'. And they jeered at the Jatt, saying, ' How can a man plough who wears long hair and anointshis head with curds'? His brothers jeered saying, 'He wears a looking glass on his thumb like a woman. He plays on the flute all day and sings all night. So Ranjha, with his flute under his arm, left his father's country declaring that he would no longer eat or drink in Takht Hazara. Ranjha quarrelled with his brethren and left Takht Hazara.

Vitas Oficial Youtube Channel http Video by Alice On Facebook; VItas Europe-Norway http Text: Thanks to Anna Russia for translating !! C'est la Vie I don't know what I hoped for, But I wished my hope to come true. But I'm losing you, like the first love, For the hundredth time. And every time all is the same: The clock exultantly hurries, And you and I behave like it, Once you will understand this. I'll throw the time of my love to your feet. Snow will cover everything, but please call me. I'll throw the time of my love to your feet, Everything is in your hands... Let the tired day give way to the night, As occurs for ages. Love needs so little, Just the window shining in the night. Let the music pour like rain, And I'll hear in silence How my heart is again beating 'Cause you haven't forgotten me. I'll throw the time of my love to your feet. Snow will cover everything, but please call me. I'll throw the time of my love to your feet, Everything is in your hands... • TOP 10 SOPRANOS (LIVE) 5 - Astrid Varnay Ibolyka Astrid Maria Varnay (25 April 1918 -- 4 September 2006) was an American dramatic soprano of Hungarian heritage and Swedish birth, who did most of her work in the United States and Germany. She was one of the five best-known Wagnerian heroic sopranos of her generation (the other four were Kirsten Flagstad, Gertrude Grob-Prandl, Birgit Nilsson, and Martha Mödl). Her voice on record is readily recognizable by its seemingly-limitless upper register... Wagner: Götterdämmerung -- 'Immolation Scene'. Astrid Varnay Lyrics & English Translation: (She signs to the vassals to lift Siegfried's body on to the funeral pyre; at the same time she removes the ring from Siegfried's finger and gazes thoughtfully at it.) BRÜNNHILDE Now I take up my inheritance. Accursed ring, terrible ring, I take your gold and now I give it away. Wise sisters of the water's depths, you swimming daughters of the Rhine, I thank you for your good counsel. I give you what you crave: from my ashes take it for your own! The fire that consumes me shall cleanse the ring from the curse! You in the water, wash it away and keep pure the gleaming gold that was disastrously stolen from you. (She has put on the ring and now turns to the funeral pyre on which Siegfried's body lies stretched. She snatches from one of the vassals a huge torch, swings it and points towards the background.) BRÜNNHILDE Fly home, you ravens! Recount to your master what you have heard here by the Rhine! Pass by ...
  • Dread The Beautiful ; Six*** According to Demi, Mrs. Lovato had to be sent off to errands just so she wouldn't come inside and see whose house this was. We work for an hour and half before slipping into relaxation mode. "Do I look like I've lost ten pounds?" Demi jokes. Her words come out in a wheeze. "More than that." I roll my eyes frivolously. "I know," Demi sighed. "I hope this pays off." "It will," I reassured her. "Come on, let's start walking home. It'll take a while," She says. "Let me take a shower first," I respond. She sneers. "Sweetie, it isn't exactly a very short way. You're going to sweat again. What's the point?" I consider the possibility and we leave after saying bye to Dad. Mom is gone somewhere shopping while Dad seems to be preparing dinner. "Uh Dad, I think I'll be eating with Demi so see you," I tell him. He nods and waves with a smile. We walk silently at first and then warming up to the sun and cool breeze. She is poking my nose playfully when my arm cages her waist and I pull her oh so close to me. She fails to recall she needs to breathe for the following sixty seconds. "Breathe," I say, my lips lingering on her forehead. Her breaths are rapid and constant before she finally settles on a rhythm. "You know," I say coyly, twirling a strand of her hair as we start walking again. "I thought my charm wouldn't work on you but gosh you're easy." "Thanks, Joe; it means so much to me." Sarcasm. Ouch! "Hey, you love me, you're just in denial," I say teasingly. It is abrupt and knocks ...

  • RINGO - THE GI DOGFACE "RINGO - THE GI DOGFACE" By: JOHN ROBERT MALLERNEE On a moonless night, with a bayonet clenched between his drooling fangs, Ringo, the GI dogface, wearing his GI dogtags, crept on his belly through the slimey mud, squirming through the concertina razor wire, as machine gun tracers cracked overhead, and artillery exploded nearby. Ringo had camouflaged himself by covering his white fur with black shoe polish, and he was determined to make it to his objective, the enemy kennel, where there was kibble and beef bones for the successful war dog. Barking orders, Ringo led the small team of elite border collies in Dog Company, 1st Battalion, 501st Airborne Infantry, 101st Airborne Division, as they carefully flanked the enemy positions. Ringo was slightly wounded when an enemy sniper shot away part of one ear, but he just growled and ignored the pain, pressing onward. Ringo and the other border collie GI dogfaces had spent many, many months living like dogs, training for this moment. They were highly disciplined, and disdained showy hot dog tactics. Savagely, they rushed forward, shocking and overwhelming their enemy, and exultantly howled with the success of victory! Alas, due to the effects of the cruelty of war, Ringo and the elite border collies had degenerated into mere beasts, acting like animals, and indulging in cannibalism as they ate hush puppies and hot dogs with relish.
