How to Control Crabgrass Post Emergently Learn how to control crabgrass after it has germinated in a lawn. This is a more environmentally friendly technique because the weed control is only applied to where the crabgrass has germinated. Compare this to a pre-emergent crabgrass control which is applied everywhere even if the lawn doesn't need to have crabgrass controlled.

Kate Mcrae • Only Hope Kate Mcrae is a 5 year old little girl battling brain cancer. This site is dedicated to our beautiful and courageous daughter Kate who is currently battling against brain cancer. June 29, 2009 has forever changed our family. The day continues to bring a torrent of emotions as we recall it, and yet we pray that one day we will recall it knowing it changed us but did not defeat us. It was a Monday where I, Kate's mom, was going to take our 3 kids Olivia 7, Kate 5 1/2, and Will 4 to the water park. A day of celebrating summer. Plans changed quickly as I noticed that a slight tremor in Kate's right hand over the past three days had notably worsened. We made an appointment to her Pediatrician. Early evening we were headed to Phoenix Children's Hospital for a stat CT of Kate's head. I patiently filled our Kate's kindergarten application as we waited to be released after the CT. We however would not be released. Rather 3 people came out to tell me that our little Kate had a large mass on her brain. Our world stopped. You can never prepare fully for a moment where one sentence changes everything. We were emergently admitted to PICU and began the battle for Kate's life. There are no words possible to describe how difficult this journey has been. Our hearts saddened to a point we didn't know existed. And yet, we are fully prepared to walk this and fight with Kate every step of the way. We believe strongly in the power of prayer. We know none of this has caught our God off guard ...
Office Awake Airway Dilation 1 This 34 year old female complaining of worsening dyspnea on exertion to the point of being short of breath at rest over the preceding 2 years was found by her ENT to have subglottic and tracheal stenosis. She had never been intubated. She did have a history of mild GERD that began with pregnancy. She came in to my office with a critically ill airway that in the past would have been the basis of admitting the patient and taking her to the operating room emergently. A few years ago, I would have performed an awake tracheostomy and then reconstructed her airway with open techniques including a laryngofissure or a tracheal resection (or both). Instead I offered her a fast track to a safe and comfortable airway with an awake topical anesthesia based procedure that is documented in this video. She gave her consent to allowing me to publish this video on the web to get the word out to other sufferers of this disease to learn of the options they have to a tracheostomy. This was THE reason she did nothing about her problem for over a year after learning of her diagnosis. She is early in her treatment with me and may still need extensive open surgery depending on how durable her airway enlargement proves to be. BUT having undergone this procedure in my office procedure suite, she is VERY unlikely to ever need a tracheostomy.
Florida Hospital DeLand to Offer Advanced Cardiac Procedures After investing 18 months in planning and preparation, Florida Hospital DeLand will begin performing interventional cardiac procedures tomorrow, July 5, 2011. For the past 10 years, Florida Hospital DeLand has been able to diagnose heart problems in their cardiac catheterization lab, but has been unable to perform the necessary procedures to fix the problem. Patients with a cardiac condition had to be emergently transferred to Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in Daytona Beach or airlifted to Orlando As of July 5, 2011, Florida Hospital DeLand will be licensed by the state of Florida to provide Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI), such as stents and angioplasties, to restore blood flow of a blocked vessel that brings vital blood and oxygen to the heart muscle. Patients will no longer need to leave the area to receive this life-saving treatment. Here is a video clip from Channel 9, explaining this new capability at Florida Hospital DeLand. It ran four times: Monday, July 4 at 10:27 pm Monday, July 4 at 11:34 pm Tuesday, July 5 at 5:54 am Tuesday, July 5 at 6:54 am
