NORFOLK Eagle Nest EASTER EAGLET RESCUED FOR VET CHECK UP May 22 2008 - Easter is the sole eaglet to be born at the Norfolk Botanical Garden eagles nest. After a breeding season of much drama, this little eaglet has a growth on its beak and it was decided to intervene. A rescue for Easter occurred and he will be taken to a rehab center in Virginia to be biopsied by a Vet. It is doubtful Easter will return to the nest as he will need surgery. While the rescue occurred, Mom & Dad Norfolk hovered above. Now all we can do is wait.

New Baby Eaglet for Hornby Island Eagles April 29, 2010: A new baby eaglet was seen early this morning. Here he is, having dinner. It's part of a fish that Dad just delivered. Will Mom's beak connect? She has plenty of patience. The feeding went on for at least 15 minutes, and then baby was tucked away for a nap. Doug Carrick has named the eaglet Phoenix. Mom laid the first egg on March 20 and the second on March 24. Doug and Sheila Carrick Wildearth TV
Chirpy Earth Day ***: Bald Eaglet Hatchlings (AEF) Two Bald Eaglets recently hatched in an incubator at the American Eagle Foundation's United States Eagle Center at Dollywood (). At one day old, the eagle chicks were placed into the nest of non-releasable Bald Eagle pair "Liberty" and "Justice" for adoptive parent rearing. The captive breeding pair's own two eggs were determined to be infertile. At six weeks of age, the eaglets will be placed into an artificial nesting tower over-looking Douglas Lake in Dandridge, TN, where they will be cared for by the Foundation staff with minimum human contact until they are released into the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains at 12 weeks of age (when they reach full size). The young birds will be named at the time of their release. The non-profit conservation group is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year.

Both Delta Eaglets Fall from the Nest! July 22, 2008: First Delta Dan falls, around 8 PM. The fall is seen by people watching the live video, and they contact David Han*** and OWL They search but cannot find the eaglet. The next morning, they resume their search. They find Danny, sitting on a fence post in a field to the west of the nest. According to one observer at the nest site: "When I left the nest site to go over to OWL, the parent eagles were perched together on one of their favorite power poles to the east of the nest." Dan was not returned to the nest. To do so could have scared the other eaglet into jumping from the nest. Danny will be cared for at OWL for a couple of weeks before being released in his nest area. He will be banded before he is set free. July 28, 2008: Dawn slips from the nest when a parent lands, but manages to climb back in, after leaping from branch to branch. The nest has been deteriorating, and the parents have made no attempts to restore it. For information on OWL (Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society), please go to the website: www.owlcanada.ca

A-90 Orlyonok (Eaglet) WIG A-90 Orlyonok (Eaglet) WIG (A.90.150) NATO Code CASP-B The A-90 was designed as a naval assault craft and troop transport. It weighed 110 tonnes, had a top speed of 400km/hr, a payload of 15t and a range of 2000km. Principal dimensions were :- length 58m, span 31.5m and height 16m. Power was provided by two Kuznetsov NK-8-4K turbofans of 10.5 ton thrust mounted in the nose for lift-off and a single Kuznetsov NK-12MK 11000kW turboprop mounted high at the fin for cruise thrust. The whole nose of the A-90 aft of the ***pit could be swung open sideways to allow vehicles to be driven up a built-in ramp onto the cargo deck. Other variants, such as a SAR and ASW were proposed, but only four A-90's were ever built before the collapse of the Soviet Union meant that funds for further development dried up. The current status of the remaining examples is not know, apart from the fact that they are rusting away at the Kaspiisk Naval Air Base.

Requiem for an Eaglet This slideshow is a tribute to Charles A. Lindbergh, Jr. The son of the famous aviator was kidnapped on March 1, 1932 and found dead in the woods near his Hopewell, New Jersey, home on May 12, 1932. I decided to make this video after researching the case a little bit and realizing that the details of the investigation, the murder trial, the hoaxes, and the conspiracy theories clouded the memory of little Charlie as a person and thus, he was forgotten in the whole mess. I wanted to give some honor to his memory by making this; I hope I was successful, and I hope his memory as a person robbed of a normal lifetime is somehow preserved better through this. Disclaimer: I own nothing that is already copyrighted.

Why did an Eaglet Die? COURTENAY - Wildlife experts are investigating why a baby eagle, watched by thousands on the hornby island eagle cam, suddenly died earlier this week. The eaglet was removed from the world famous eagles nest and flown to Abbotsford for a necropsy. But with the loss comes renewed hope and more awareness of the plight of eagles in general.
