Batheo - Garden of Hesperides (God of War status) Transcript of my audio (sorry about the awful audio settings): Hi there youtube! No Pirates of the Caribbean today - this is Batheo. It's a turn based game, browser based, fairly light-weight. Fair. For anyone that's been in SvS (POTCO's ship vs. ship) knows there are tricks (MASSIVE EXPLOITS) in pirates online that just don't wash well. Especially if you have some expectation that there's not much cheating (in POTCO) when in fact, it's ALL cheating. So anyway, I've been spending a couple months (part time, of course) here on Batheo. And today, I'm going to show a GARDEN BATTLE. The Garden of Hesperides. The Garden of Hesperides is all the way through these different zones. The main reason for doing it, is that EQUIPMENT is pretty darn expensive to upgrade. I don't have enought to do one upgrade, now. The BUFFS here in this game are pretty ridiculous. It started out as an "Art Of War" (Sun Tsu) battle scenario. If you stay at level 1 or level 2 equipment, then that ***ogy still works. But you can buff things up, 80 times that, so it's not a real good way to depict the "Art Of War" but anyway, So here's a garden battle. It seems to be giving some people a bit of trouble, running through and getting "God of War" (award status.) Or maybe that's just something everyone has to just learn. So, here's how I do it. Starting out...didn't have to refresh (the web browser page) for once... Start moving my troops, as soon as I can. Taking first battle. Now, one ...

GREEK POEM PREVEZA BY KARYOTAKIS READ BY GP SAVVIDIS PREVEZA by Kostas Karyotakis Death is the crows clattering on dark walls and roof-tiles; death - those women who make love as if they were peeling onions. Death these grimy, insignificant streets with their great, illustrious names, the olive grove, in all directions the sea, and even the sun - death amid deaths. Death - that cop who wraps up an "Insufficient" serving and weighs it; death - these hyacinths on the balcony and that teacher with the newspaper. Base, Garrison, Platoon of Preveza. On Sunday we'll hear the band. I got a savings book from the bank, first deposit - thirty drachmas. Walking slowly on the wharf you say, "Do I exist" and then, "You do not exist!" The ship arrives, Raised flag. Perhaps His Honor the Governor is coming. If, among these people, just one would die from disgust . . . Silent, sad, decorous, we'd all have fun at the funeral. Kostas Karyotakis is a Greek poet influenced by the 19th-century French Symbolist poets. He born in Tripolis at 1896 and died in Preveza at 1928. Kariotakis spent most of his lonely childhood in Crete. He read law at Athens and won a prize for poetry in 1920. After obtaining his degree he worked as a government clerk in Athens, where he developed a friendship with the young poet Maria Polidouri. Later he was transferred to Patrai and thence to Preveza, where he shot himself (July 20, 1928). Karyotakis' two volumes of poetry show the influence of the New School of Poetry of Athens, founded in about 1880 by Kostis ...

Acts 19 (with text - press on more info.) Acts 19 (New International Version) Acts 19 Paul in Ephesus 1 While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples 2 and asked them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when[a] you believed?" They answered, "No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit." 3 So Paul asked, "Then what baptism did you receive?" "John's baptism," they replied. 4 Paul said, "John's baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus." 5 On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues[b] and prophesied. 7 There were about twelve men in all. 8 Paul entered the synagogue and spoke boldly there for three months, arguing persuasively about the kingdom of God. 9 But some of them became obstinate; they refused to believe and publicly maligned the Way. So Paul left them. He took the disciples with him and had discussions daily in the lecture hall of Tyrannus. 10 This went on for two years, so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord. 11 God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them. 13 Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name ...

PALEOKHORA & The DOUBLE-SEATER two poems Both flashbacks. 'The Double Seater' harks from my early ***s memory-wise and 'Paleokhora' is a kind of gestalt package that just lunged suddenly into the present from a coupe of decades back. THE DOUBLE-SEATER My Mum and Dad, in former camping days, would pack their tent and drive away to pitch in country fields both near and far me squatting in the back of Dad´s side-car or catching pillion-flies at a lively canter astride the ´Royal Enfield´ then the `Panther´. The gear was stowed in a trailer towed behind. out of site perhaps but never out of mind. There was a Norfolk farm I vividly recall, where the land was flat and elms grew tall, where Dad obtained permission from the pair who worked the farm to settle there. And if you think a farm a weird place to stay then let me add, it overlooked a sheltered bay. The man was willing for a modest rent to let us use his water, pitch our tent. We had some lovely eggs from him as well when Mum went off to ring the bell. The strongest memory I still have is of their extraordinary `lav´! A double-seater for the farmer and his wife side by side cheek by cheek for life! Some kind of East Anglian outhouse made of brick constructed over an echoing, gaping pit. But I´ve never seen the woodwork neater or more loving than on that Norfolk double-seater! PALEOKHORA And now comes that moment in Paleokhora; the fisherman's village in Southernmost Crete. Behind me the mountains - undoubtedly orange - the menfolk around me are starting to eat ...

Prevailing Power of the Gospel ACTS 19:11-20 11 God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them. 13 Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, "In the name of the Jesus whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out." 14 Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. 15 One day the evil spirit answered them, "Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?" 16 Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house *** and bleeding. 17 When this became known to the Jews and Greeks living in Ephesus, they were all seized with fear, and the name of the Lord Jesus was held in high honor. 18 Many of those who believed now came and openly confessed what they had done. 19 A number who had practiced sorcery brought their scrolls together and burned them publicly. When they calculated the value of the scrolls, the total came to fifty thousand drachmas.[a] 20 In this way the word of the Lord spread widely and grew in power.

Power of the Word of God ACTS 19:8-20 8 Paul entered the synagogue and spoke boldly there for three months, arguing persuasively about the kingdom of God. 9 But some of them became obstinate; they refused to believe and publicly maligned the Way. Join the 9/11 'Burn the Qu'ran day'? In Acts 18:24-19:1-22; 20:31, Luke provides a brief account of Paul's time in Ephesus during his third missionary journey. It is probably during this period of time that he writes 1 Corinthians, since this is the only time that Paul is in Ephesus long enough to write a series of letters to the Corinthians. According to Acts 19:1, on his third missionary journey, Paul comes to Ephesus, where he remains for three years (Acts 20:31). Before Paul arrives in the city, however, Apollos comes to Ephesus, where Aquila and Priscilla explain to him "the way of God" more fully, which he willingly accepts (Acts 18:24-28). Apollos then goes to Corinth (Acts 18:27; 19:1). Luke describes several events that occur during Paul's time in Ephesus. Upon his arrival, he encounters twelve disciples who have not yet received the Holy Spirit, but had only undergone John's baptism; Paul lays his hands on them and the Holy Spirit comes upon them, with the result that they speak in tongues and prophesy (19:1-7). Paul speaks for three months "concerning the Kingdom of God" in the synagogue in Ephesus, but, on account of Jewish resistance, is then forced to relocate with his disciples (from the synagogue) to the lecture hall called Tyrannus, where he daily holds discussions for two years (Acts 19:8-10). Paul is known to have done miracles in the city (healings and exorcisms) (19:11-12). During his time in Ephesus some Jewish exorcists, seven sons of a man named Sceva, invoke "the name of Jesus whom ...

THE IONIAN ISLANDS HISTORY - THE EARTHQUAKES OF 1953 Kefalonia & Ithaca is just to the east of a major tectonic fault, where the European plate meets the Aegean plate at a slip boundary. This is similar to the more famous San Andreas Fault. There are regular earthquakes along this fault. A series of four earthquakes hit the islands in August 1953, and caused major destruction, with virtually every house on the islands destroyed. The third and most destructive of the, quakes took place on August 12, 1953 at 09:24 UTC (11:24 local time), with a magnitude of 8,5 on the Richter scale. Its epicentre was directly below the southern tip of Kefalonia, and caused the entire islands to be raised 60 cm higher, where it remains, with evidence in water marks on rocks around the coastline. This 1953 disaster caused huge destruction, with only regions in the north escaping the heaviest tremors and houses there remaining intact. Damage was estimated to run into tens of millions of dollars, equivalent to billions of drachmas, but the real damage to the economy occurred when residents left the islands. An estimated 100000 of the population of 125000 left the islands soon after, seeking a new life elsewhere.

Nehemiah 7 (with text - press on more info.) Nehemiah 7 (New International Version) Nehemiah 7 1 After the wall had been rebuilt and I had set the doors in place, the gatekeepers and the singers and the Levites were appointed. 2 I put in charge of Jerusalem my brother Hanani, along with [a] Hananiah the commander of the citadel, because he was a man of integrity and feared God more than most men do. 3 I said to them, "The gates of Jerusalem are not to be opened until the sun is hot. While the gatekeepers are still on duty, have them shut the doors and bar them. Also appoint residents of Jerusalem as guards, some at their posts and some near their own houses." The List of the Exiles Who Returned 4 Now the city was large and spacious, but there were few people in it, and the houses had not yet been rebuilt. 5 So my God put it into my heart to assemble the nobles, the officials and the common people for registration by families. I found the genealogical record of those who had been the first to return. This is what I found written there: 6 These are the people of the province who came up from the captivity of the exiles whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had taken captive (they returned to Jerusalem and Judah, each to his own town, 7 in company with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum and Baanah): The list of the men of Israel: 8 the descendants of Parosh 2172 9 of Shephatiah 372 10 of Arah 652 11 of Pahath-Moab (through the line of Jeshua and Joab ...

ONE OF THE BEST GOAL IN SUPER LEAGUE ''Sergio Conceicao '' PAOK OLYMPIAKOS 1-0 CONSEISAO ONE OF THE BEST GOAL IN SUPER LEAGUE---====History PAOK is the historical continuation of the Hermes Athletic and Cultural Association from Constantinople established by Greek residents of the city in 1875 in the very heart of the city in the Pera area. The need of Constantinople's Greek residents to express and support their Hellenism within Turkey was what led to the creation of this club. In 1923 following the failed Greek invasion of Asia Minor and the agreed population swap between Greece and the newly established Turkish republic, the Greeks of Constantinople renamed their club Peraclub in line with the new constitution adopted by Kemal Atatürk. Despite this blow to Hellenic culture in Turkey, which was forced to take the path of the refugee and to abandon its traditional home, Peraclub continued its sporting struggle, promising to continue to do so as long as there were Greeks left in Constantinople. The club won cup after cup proving that although the Greeks were a minority they continued to have a strong presence in the sporting sector. However, that situation did not last long and most players were forced to flee, leaving behind a team consisting of residents of Constantinople renamed Politakia. Those who fled settled in Thessaloniki and in 1926 established PAOK, retaining the symbols of their Greekness, the twin-headed eagle of the Byzantine Empire combined with mourning black to symbolize the tragic history of the Greeks in Turkey ...

Allos gia to ekatommyrio Allos gia to ekatommyrio 1964. Fotopoulos finally falls victim to his wife, Beata Asimakopoulou's "illness". Beata was Laskos' wife in real life. He hands the 100000 drachmas to Gionakis who thinks he is got Onasis' business sense. A scary thing. Vasilis Avlonitis is his brother from Boston. Nikos Tsiforos co-wrote the scenario with Polyvios Vasiliadis and Orestis Laskos directed. Laskos at the end of the movie, jumps in front of the camera to tell us that he would not have returned the money. Fotopoulos' story may well be improbable, but is worth telling.

Greece Paid Journalists $130 Million to promote fake "Greekness of Macedonia" 16.12.2009 During 1989 to 1993 from secret funds of the Greek Foreign Ministry headed by Andonis Samaras, Greek journalists received $130 million dollars (US) to promote the "Greekness of Macedonia"! Although these funds were originally intended for external promotion (read disinformation) , they, according to the testimony of former Prime Minister Constantinos Mitsotakis, ended up in pockets of Greek journalists. - All of the funds were in black plastic bags, like those black trash bags you see, filled only with 5000 bank notes. There were never checks, it was always cash. The money was mainly for propaganda over Macedonia's name, but instead going abroad, this propaganda was directed towards the inside, our country - says Mitsotakis in front of a commission tried to clarify the case. The payment of huge lump sums coincided with the independence of Macedonia and the strengthening of internal propaganda and the macedoniazation in Greece. This scandal, which was first actualized by Athens based Eleftherotypia was burried in 1994 though it re-emerged once again after Andonis Samaras was elected as leader of New Democracy, which suffered a defeat by PASOK in the fall elections. Samaras had been dismissed in 1992 as a Foreign Minister by then-Prime Minister Mitsotakis, who, like Papandreou has now himself assumed the foreign ministry. The investigation was completed without conclusions. These secret payments were investigated by Mitsotakis successor, the Greek Foreign ...

Μίμης Παπαιωάννου (Αφιερωμα) Μιμης Παπαιωαννου ο μεγαλυτερος Ελληνας ποδοσφαιριστης ολων των εποχων. Was one of the star football players of AEK Athens FC. He was born in 1942 and began his career at Nea Genea in the town of Nea Nikomedia (now a part of Veria), Imathia Prefecture. He joined AEK in time for the 1963 season for the paltry sum of 140000 drachmas. Papaioannou proved an instant success helping AEK win their first post-World War II title, scoring twice in the final playoff game of the season against Panathinaikos FC. The following year he was crowned top scorer of Greece replacing teammate Kostas Nestoridis who had, up until that year, won the title five consecutive times. Mimis Papaioannou would help AEK win championships again in 1968, 1971, 1978 and 1979. In 1980, Papaioannou stopped playing in Greece and continued his career at NY Pancyprian-Freedoms as a player-coach. He led that club to win both the Cosmopolitan Soccer League and the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup and attracted the attention of NASL scouts (when he was almost 40 years old!) When his playing career was finally over, Papaioannou tried his hand at coaching (Kerkyra FC, etc.) without much success. He scored a record 234 goals in 481 games in the Greek A League which was to be surpassed by his teammate Thomas Mavros. He was given the award of statistically the Best Greek Football Player ever to play the game. Papaioannou was capped 61 times by the Greek National Football Team scoring 21 goals. During his career many teams sought ...

The temple of Zeus (Αθήνα/Athens) The Temple of Zeus at Olympia, built in 470-456 BC, was the ancient Greek temple in Olympia, Greece, dedicated to the chief of the gods, Zeus. It was the very model of the fully-developed classical Greek temple of the Doric order. The temple stood in the most famous sanctuary of Greece, which had been dedicated to local and Pan-Hellenic deities and had probably been established towards the end of the Mycenaean period. The Altis, the enclosure with its sacred grove, open-air altars and the tumulus of Pelops, was first formed during the tenth and ninth centuries BCE, when the cult of Zeus joined the established cult of Hera. Main article: Statue of Zeus at Olympia It housed the cult statue of Zeus which was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The Chryselephantine statue was approximately 13 m (43 ft) high and was made by the sculptor Phidias in his workshop on the site at Olympia. He took about twelve years to complete it. On his head was a sculpted wreath of olive sprays. In his right hand he held a figure of Nike, the goddess of victory, also made from ivory and gold, and in his left hand, a scepter made with many kinds of metal, with an eagle perched on the top. His sandals were made of gold and so was his robe. His garments were carved with animals and with lilies. The throne was decorated with gold, precious stones, ebony, and ivory. The statue was the most famous artistic work in Greece. The temple was constructed by the architect Libon, with carved metopes ...

The forgotten (not in use) Greek coins - Drachmas! I have a habit of collecting currency (a couple of coins mostly) from different countries. Today I just stumbled upon a few hundred or so (in coins, as the value was much lower than the US Dollar) Greek drachmas, which as the new currency is the Euro, is no longer in use, and I'm guessing it's hard to find? MACEDONIA MACEDONIA..MAKEDONIA..a state of ancient HELLAS/GREECE..just like all other states of Greece..Athens..Sparta..Korinthos..Crete..Ionian cities..etc..they were speaking & writing ONLY Greek..they believed in the 12 gods of Olympus (just like ALL Greeks..)..they had the same customs with all Greeks..they were participating to the Olympic games (ONLY Greek people were allowed to do so..)..their coins were called "DRACHMAS"..(even us today..we had drachmas before the euro age..)..but suddenly some people out of NOWHERE (from the country WARDARSKA..which is a cousin to BULGARIA but was born from the ashes of Yugoslavia..) started a WORLD PROPAGANDA (for POLITICAL REASONS..to claim our land in the future..) claiming ALEXANDROS and all Macedonians were not Greek..their "proves" the..civil Greek wars ..so if this is right..since SPARTA was ALWAYS in war with Athens..maybe SPARTANS weren't Greek..who knows...the funny story behind is they have statues of ALEXANDROS and PHILIPPOS (his father) in their cities/buildings but unfortunatelly for them ALL of them have epigraphs written in Greek letters/words...don't expect to get an answer...we're living in the "new age" so everything is possible..everything must change..religions,customs and history MUST change (according to some people) and we MUST MIX...

It was named after Ioannis Metaxas, the then dictatorial ruler of Greece, and chiefly consists of tunnels that led to observatories, emplacements and machine-gun nests. The constructions are so sturdy that they survive to this day, some of which are still in active service. Some of them are open to the public. The Metaxas Line fortifications consist of 22 independent clusters, the largest of which is Fort Roupel as it covers 6.1 out of the 155 km of the full line and had been constructed at a height of 322 m. Illumination was initially mostly provided by oil-lamps, although generators were also installed. (Currently, the fortifications are supplied with public electricity, but they are also equipped with generators). Ventilation was achieved both naturally and artificially. Water was supplied via water-mains. The fortification works lasted four years and their cost at the time reached 100400000 drachmas. Before the outbreak of World War II, the additions made to the Roupel Fortress were considered to be too weak. Thus, it was decided that further fortifications should be constructed, not only in that particular region, but also along the entire northern Greek borderline. The plans were drawn up in 1935 and work ...
