J-rock disbandments & hiatuses of february 2012 ...Damn, I really need to post this thing earlier in the month ._. A COUPLE OF THINGS! First off, February was a pretty good month all things considered. Of course, it's the shortest month of the year, but we only had 9 disbandments, and since there were EIGHT-FREAKING-*** last month, I'll just count my blessings here. And again, if I can't find at least 2 sites that confirm that a rumored band is breaking up along with a profile photo, they won't be in here. But if you find that I'm missing a band, let me know please! Secondly, I realized that when good J-rock bands aren't disbanding, they're going on hiatus... yep. So, I decided to add hiatuses to this list because both decisions of these bands mean that they won't be making music for a long period of time, so I figured it could be categorized as the same thing. And let me tell you, even though I only had time to talk about two hiatuses- Virgil and Chemical Pictures- they're pretty shocking =0 And finally, I've decided to add a new segment to this because... well, this is just a depressing topic T_T While there are tons of bands who break up, there are others that defy the odds and come back from bad things that made them stop in the first place, such as hiatuses, member loss, or member sickness. Deluhi Tribute (デルヒ/ Deluhi disbanding in 2011) + letter from Deluhi On April 1st Deluhi announced that they're disbanding after their farewell tour in the summer. Here's the translated message from their OHP: "Since the 1st December last year DELUHI have been on hiatus but today we have lifted the ban on announcements for a summer tour: "DELUHI LAST TOUR -VANDALISM-" after which DELUHI will disband. After the Autumn tour ended, DELUHI took a break in order to decide "so where do we go from here" however while in this state, because there was a member who had come to the decision to withdraw, Juri, Leda, Aggy, Sujk have confronted the idea that DELUHI cannot continue in these circumstances. After much sincere discussion about this matter, according to the four members of DELUHI, the band couldn't continue and moreover they decided that there would be no meaning in the DELUHI they continued with, so disbandment was the option they chose. To those fans who wished and waited for DELUHI's activity to restart, and those who continued supporting the band, we are very sorry to be making this kind of an announcement. It is a painful decision for all the members and staff to take. In July a final nationwide tour will start and with all built up over the past 3 years, they will show their full power with a live showing their full devotion, so with all the fans they can share an amazing moment. J-rock disbandments & hiatuses of january 2012 It's become very apparent just how many J-rock groups are breaking up, and I've done videos in the past about how many groups/what groups/ what shocking big-name groups have disbanded, but in order to really get a grasp on this whole "J-rockapocalypse", I decided to make a new series- "is your J-rock group safe/next? J-rock 2012 disbandments". Sad, very sad, but necessary at this point. I mean, who can keep track anymore??? I couldn't, so use this as a reference, and I hope that you breathe in a sigh of releif if you find that your most loved groups are still together this month... or become very very sad (as I did) if your group is on this list this month of January.
