Nano Lagoon (11a): Keep it Clean We show how to use a small aquarium dipnet to remove floating debris from the surface of the water. The dipnet cost about a dollar at Wal-Mart. Next we use a $4.00 aquarium brush to clean the inside of the glass walls of the tank. The task is easy because when building the reef structure we left ample space between the rockwork and the tank walls. A major advantage of glass tanks is that, unlike acrylic tanks, they resist scratching. The inside walls are cleaned with the aquarium brush a minimum of twice a week, or as needed. The outside of the glass can be cleaned with Windex and a paper towel. Please use only captive-bred organisms in your reef aquarium. Kenai River Dipnetting 07/17/2009 14:00 Yes, this is old... I took them, edited them... But never did upload. WELL, here we go. This is at the mouth of the Kenai River, where red salmon dipnetting is a BIG deal this time of year. The season just opened last Friday, and since then there's been about ten thousand people down on the beach trying to get some Red Salmon, and the occasional King Salmon. Today, there was no catching going on... Just standing there and standing there. Apparently, the set-netters were out in a frenzy today or something.. Which basically for me means I won't have to be one of them standing out in the river with a massive net trying to catch fish for hours on end LOL. Lots and lots of people...... Just for a little bit of fish.
