What are Dimensions? The 4th dimension and beyond! A discussion of both the physical and metaphysical dimensions and seperation of real and imaginary terms. The Laws of Physics themselves were not decided by anyone, they were discovered through experiment and calculation. These mathematical formulae describe the relations between various elements of our physical universe. How space is related to time, how mass is related to energy, how force is related to mass and acceleration. and the laws of physics aren't like some laws that a judge decides in a court room (created by the rich to govern the poor) People break those laws all the time, the stupid ones get caught and go to jail. The LAWS of physics cannot be broken, assuming we have a correct theory. When we do find a law violation it means we need a new theory. But there are certain laws that have been tested over and over for hundreds of years and have never broken. These are called Universal Laws. These laws derive directly from the mathematics of the universe itself, down to the fundamental creation of mathematics itself. This is the Holy Grail of Physics, a Grand Unified Theory. A Theory of EVERYTHING. So far we have string theory (which is totally incomplete), and the Big Bang Theory... We still don't know what these strings are actually made of, and we don't know what created the Big Bang. All we know is that at the beginning of time there was nothing and somehow everything was created from nothing. Then we have mathematics which tell ...

Hunting the hidden dimension - pt 1 This film is about looking at the world around us in a completely different way. If you pay attention, you can see that fractals appear throughout nature. But until Benoit Mandelbrot came along, no one really understood what was there all along. You may not know it, but fractals, like the air you breathe, are all around you. Their irregular, repeating shapes are found in cloud formations and tree limbs, in stalks of broccoli and craggy mountain ranges, even in the rhythm of the human heart. In this film, the film makers take viewers on a fascinating quest with a group of maverick mathematicians determined to decipher the rules that govern fractal geometry. For centuries, fractal-like irregular shapes were considered beyond the boundaries of mathematical understanding. Now, mathematicians have finally begun mapping this uncharted territory. Their remarkable findings are deepening our understanding of nature and stimulating a new wave of scientific, medical, and artistic innovation stretching from the ecology of the rain forest to fashion design. The documentary highlights a host of filmmakers, fashion designers, physicians, and researchers who are using fractal geometry to innovate and inspire. Produced and directed by Emmy- and Peabody Award-winning filmmakers Michael Schwarz and Bill Jersey, the documentary weaves cutting-edge research from the front lines of science into a compelling mathematical detective story. The film introduces a number of distinguished individuals ...

Gravity, Branes And Hidden Dimensions Science & Reason on Facebook: Physics (Chapter 3): Gravity, Branes And Hidden Dimensions (The Fourth Dimension / 4D Tesseract) --- Subscribe to Science & Reason: • • • • --- Why is gravity so weak? Why can a small magnet pull or push something away from the entire earth? There is an idea that may explain it, but before we go there, lets explore some preliminary ideas. The most popular quantum gravity theory of today describes all fundamental particles as vibrating strings of energy. And the theory is constructed in a whopping nine or ten spatial dimensions instead of the three that we experience in our everyday lives. But what is a dimension? A line is a familiar geometric figure. It can be completely described by giving its length. It is a one-dimensional object. It can be imagined that the dimensionality of an object can be created by taking an object of one less dimensions and moving it at a right angle to that dimension. You can create a line in your imagination by thinking of taking a point and moving it. Next consider a surface: A surface is also quite familiar. A surface has both length and width and requires two measurements to define it and therefore is a two-dimensional object. Similar to the generation of a line from a point, we can generate a two-dimensional surface by taking a line and moving it in a direction other than the direction of its length. And a solid figure is the stuff of ...

It never fails how playing this level makes me feel like i'm having an acid trip, because that's about what it is. Psycadelic (spelling?) background, paper airplanes, and creepy music don't help either. I couldn't believe my luck this time around with the boss, lucky 7's in three shots. The Dimensions Explained Video Creator's Channel: There are many explanations of the dimensions out there, and this is the one I subscribe to 100%. It was discovered by Rob Bryanton, who will answer your questions individually if you contact him on his channel. Alot of you will wonder why I don't subscribe to Einstein and most String Theorist's theory of 11 dimensions, and it is because Rob makes more sense. Physicists claimed there were 11 dimensions because they said there were 10 spacial dimensions, plus one of time. What they didn't realize, (and I have no idea how Einstein missed this) was that space and time are of the same fabric. Meaning, time is a direction just as much as length is a direction. So what they had considered as the 4th spacial dimension, was actually time all along, and they did not need to add the "plus one of time", because it was already accounted for by the fourth spacial dimension. Here's the ***ogy I came up with to help myself picture it: Just like the "flatlanders" would only be able to see 2D cross sections of a 3D object passing through their 2D reality... so do we experience time. We are living on a 3D plain, that is moving through the fourth dimension at the speed of light, and what we see are 3D cross sections of this movement. The only way to stand still, is to move at the speed of light, which would in essence stop time. Like walking up a escalator that is moving down at the exact same speed would cause you to not move anywhere. It is also ...
The Fifth Dimension "Aquarius /Let The Sunshine In" (1969) "Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In", sometimes incorrectly known as "The Age of Aquarius" or "Let the Sunshine In", is a medley of two songs from the musical Hair ("Aquarius" and "The Flesh Failures (Let The Sunshine In)") written by James Rado, Gerome Ragni and Galt MacDermot, and released as a single in 1969 by The Fifth Dimension. The single held the number one position on the US Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks and was certified Platinum.[ The Fifth Dimension, also known as The 5th Dimension, is an American popular music vocal group, whose repertoire also includes pop, R&B, soul, and jazz. The Fifth Dimension were best-known during the late 1960s and early 1970s for popularizing the hits "Up, Up and Away" and "Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In." The recording won the Grammy Award for Record of the Year and Best Contemporary Vocal Performance by a Group at the Grammy Awards of 1970, after it was released on the album The Age of Aquarius. The song was based on the astrological belief that the world would be entering the Age of Aquarius, an age of love, light and humanity, unlike the then current Age of Pisces. This change was presumed to occur at the end of the 20th century. "Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In" was ranked thirty-third on the 2004 AFI's 100 Years... 100 Songs. The five original members were Billy Davis, Jr., Florence LaRue, Marilyn McCoo, Lamonte McLemore, and Ron Townson. They have recorded for several different labels over their long careers. Their first work appeared ...

Fourth Spatial Dimension 101 Mathematical concept of the fourth spatial dimension (this is not about time as the fourth dimension, aka spacetime). Notes: #1: (1:10) Obviously your room would only exist in a single 3d space. Technically, the room described here is actually 4-dimensional. #2: (2:30) This is a 2d object (ie, unlike a piece of paper), which means there is no no "front" or "back" - so you can see all the points at once. #3: (4:31) For this ***ogy, we are comparing the act of drawing on an ordinary canvas, on both the 3d and 4d worlds. Carving, sculpting and creating 3d models on the computer don't change the fact that humans can not "draw" a real 3d shape by hand on a "flat" surface. #4: (5:49) The 3d objects and the light source are on different 3d spaces. Italian captions by persuadersonic.

Slow Bob In The Lower Dimensions Written and directed by Henry Selick, this is the pilot episode of what should have been a series. It uses live action, stop motion and cut-out animation. Bob is a strange guy: kind of a loser in the ordinary (?) world, a slow loser, he becomes a hero in the lower dimensions. The following episodes were scripted but never went into production. Tim Burton brought back to life The Nightmare Before Christmas project, and Selick was asked to direct it. And you should know what he did... The short runs five minutes, but it is introduced (and followed) by some brief commentary by the director providing the informations I wrote in this post. UPDATE: I've posted an MPEG-4 version with no commentaries to play it inline. Soundtrack by The Residents. You might be aware of it by now, but Henry Selick is working at Laika Studio on a feature lenght movie based on Neil Gaiman's Coraline.
