Digital Photocopiers Loaded With Secrets CBS - Digital Photocopiers Loaded With Secrets At a warehouse in New Jersey, 6000 used copy machines sit ready to be sold. CBS News chief investigative correspondent Armen Keteyian reports almost every one of them holds a secret. Nearly every digital copier built since 2002 contains a hard drive - like the one on your personal computer - storing an image of every document copied, scanned, or emailed by the machine. In the process, it's turned an office staple into a digital time-bomb packed with highly-personal or sensitive data. If you're in the identity theft business it seems this would be a pot of gold. "The type of information we see on these machines with the social security numbers, birth certificates, bank records, income tax forms," John Juntunen said, "that information would be very valuable."

Digital Underground is an alternative rap group hailing from Oakland, California, who played a big part in giving West Coast rap the spotlight. Their leader was Greg "Shock G" Jacobs, who spent most of his youth in New York City and southern Florida. Heavily influenced by the various funk bands of the 1970s, Digital Underground sampled their music frequently, which quickly became a defining element of west-coast rap. Their 'alternative' status owes much to their unabashedly spaced-out image, which lay in contrast to the gangster rap that most west coast acts focused on. The group's original image was set up to be a tribute to social activists The Black Panthers, but when Public Enemy became a prominent band, Jacobs chose to take the group's image in a more whimsical direction, that of an updated Parliament-Funkadelic for the hip-hop audience. Jacobs designed detailed album covers and cartoon-laced liner notes, a homage to Parliament-Funkadelic album designs. They are also notable for catapulting member Tupac Shakur into the spotlight.

This instrument is not limited to one type of effect. I personally like the sound, but it is subjective like all music is.

What is Digital Culture? - I may not look it, but I am 35 years old. This means I grew up with things like Merlin, Speak n' Spell, and Atari! I surround myself with toys even to this day, including on the Internet. There are people my age, however, who don't use mobile devices or even the Internet. In this day and age, that's unheard of! - http

RZA aka Bobby Digital "La Rhumba" uncensored Enjoy the completely UNCENSORED cut of the hot track "LA RHUMBA" from RZA aka BOBBY DIGITAL. Digital Bullet is RZA's second album under his alias, Bobby Digital. It's no shock that he brought Bobby back; the first Digital outing, Bobby Digital in Stereo, was a high mark in the Wu Tang Clan producer's prolific career. What is a bit surprising is the sound of this effort, which frequently stretches all the way back to the mystical murk of the Clan's first album, Enter the Wu-Tang. The muffled beats and disorienting, late-night soundscapes of that hip-hop classic have been imitated countless times since its 1993 release, but nobody does 'em like the Rizza, and uneasy tracks like "Must Be Bobby" and "Domestic Violence Pt. 2" seem to bring him full circle — as does the presence of several Clan members, including the legendary ODB. Even the nods to the mainstream — "Glocko Pop" and the swaying single "La Rhumba" — seem, like RZA's best work, to have arrived from a slightly different dimension. Meanwhile, there is a storyline to this installment of the Digital story, but as on In Stereo, listeners have to use some imagination to fill it out; RZA's rhymes are often as evocative and opaque as the kung-fu flicks he loves. But as always, he creates tracks that are more about atmosphere than message — and when he's on his game, as he is here, it's hard to argue with that approach. NOGOOD TV (NGTV) stars Carrie Keagan and Shark Firestone and showcases over a dozen ...
Steve Jobs introduces the "Digital Hub" strategy at Macworld 2001 On January 9, 2001, Steve Jobs gave one of his greatest Macworld keynote presentations. The main topics included the original version of Mac OS X, the original SuperDrive and the original widescreen PowerBook G4. But perhaps the most profound was the introduction of the "Digital Hub" concept in which the Mac would evolve into becoming the center of the digital lifestyle of the 21st century. It has been the subject of much discussion by Steve and his substitutes when talking about the Mac ever since. This definitely the beginning of something huge. iMovie had already been around since 1999 and Steve introduced the original versions of iTunes and iDVD at this keynote. Interesting to note that in the second part of this video Steve refers to iTunes as "iMusic" - perhaps a code name during production? It's amazing that as soon as Steve started on this topic everyone was spellbound and there was no applause from the audience for a good 11-12 minutes, quite possibly the longest gap between applauses in Stevenote history.
