Detectives: Foyle Well, not a Private Eye, but a Police Officer: Detective Chief Superintendent Christopher Foyle, played by Michael Kitchen, in ITV's series Foyle's War. He's solving crimes of all sorts in Hastings during the Second World War, assisted by one-legged Detective Sergeant Paul Milner (Anthony Howell) and his driver Samantha Stewart (Honeysuckle Weeks). Foyle's a very quiet, very modest character, a widower and father of a RAF pilot. I love the details Kitchen put into his part, but when doing this video found it hard to show such a rather quiet and modest character instead of an outgoing, vain fellow like Poirot or an eccentric like Holmes ... The series was created by Anthony Horowitz, who once was one of the writers of Robin of Sherwood.

Elvis Costello - Watching the Detectives (song & lyrics) Music:ELVIS COSTELLO & THE ATTRACTIONS Permissions: UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP () "Watching the Detectives" is a 1977 single by English singer-songwriter Elvis Costello. It was his first single that credited his backing band, the Attractions, and gave him his first UK hit single. The song featured on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time at #354. The single, produced by Nick Lowe, was the first to be credited to 'Elvis Costello & the Attractions', reflecting the new backing band that he was using, previous releases being credited solely to the singer. The lead track was, in fact, recorded in May 1977, before the Attractions existed - the backing band on the song were Steve Goulding on drums and Andrew Bodnar on bass guitar, both from Graham Parker's band, The Rumour. Keyboard overdubs were added later by Steve Nason (later better-known as Steve Nieve). It was also the first top 40 hit in the UK Singles Chart for Costello, reaching #15 and spending a total of eleven weeks in the chart. --------- Art & Video by: Tony Tuthill () "Baron of Tee-Shirts" & character designer for The Venetian Princess. Also known as: "The Red Shirt Who Lived" & Kinneas.

History Detectives | Moon Museum | PBS Become a History Detective, help PBS solve the mystery of John F. Did this elusive NASA engineer help put Andy Warhol art on the moon? In 1969, six major artists, including Andy Warhol, conspired to put their artwork on the moon. They shrank their artwork to fit on a tiny ceramic wafer, with a plan to smuggle the chip on board Apollo 12. A Florida art curator has a clone of the chip. He wants to know if the original made it to the moon. HISTORY DETECTIVES Gwen Wright takes the case from there. She narrows the investigation to a man who calls himself John F. He sent a telegram to the artists confirming that he attached the chip to the leg of the lunar landing module that NASA left on the surface of the moon. Did he? Only John F. knows for sure. PBS HISTORY DETECTIVES asks fans across the nation to come forward with any information they know about John F. and whatever else might be on the moon. The Internet Detective - Switzerland December 2009 There is a new breed of super-sleuth emerging in the virtual world of the web. For both petty criminals and major terrorist groups, internet detectives are fast becoming a force to be reckoned with. Making it his business to track down criminal activity through the web, Guido Rudolphi, the Sherlock Holmes of the cyber world, considers himself a legal hacker. "So much more information can be accessed, quite legally, than the individual user would ever imagine." Rudolphi has taken advantage of this new free-flow of online information to catch paedophiles, fraudsters, and even unearth international cells of Al-Quaeda. He demonstrates how it takes less than twenty minutes to establish a persons credentials, locate them and hand them over to the police. "People seem to think theyre anonymous online, that nothing can happen to them there thats very naive."

Watching The Detectives - Elvis Costello (acoustic) An up-tempo cover of Elvis Costello's "Watching The Detectives" live. Check out the video of Kevin's song "I Wish I Could Cry" at Lyrics: Nice girls not one with a defect cellophane shrink-wrapped so correct Red dogs under illegal legs She looks so good that he gets down and begs She is watching the detectives Oh, he's so cute She is watching the detectives When they shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot. They beat him up until the teardrops start But he can't be wounded 'cause he's got no heart Long shot of that jumping sign Visible shivers running down my spine Cut the baby taking off her clothes Close-up of the sign that says,"we never close" You snatch a chew and you a match a cigarette She pulls the eyes out with a face like a magnet I don't know how much more of this I can take She's filing her nails while they drag in the lake You think you're alone until you realize you're in it Now fear is here to stay. Love is here for a visit They call it instant justice when it's past the legal limit Someone's scratching at the window. I wonder who is it The detectives come to check if you belong to the parents Who are ready to hear the worst about their daughter's disappearance Though it nearly took a miracle to get you to stay It only took my little fingers to blow you away Just like watching the detectives. Don't get cute It's just like watching the detectives

Detective Murders Rival! Police Cover Up Crime 23 Years Ago! Police Brutality: LAPD detective Stephanie Lazarus has been charged with the murder of Sherri Rasmussen. The case was cold for 23 years, although the victims father, Nels Rasmussen, always suspected that Lazarus killed his daughter. At the time, Sherri Rasmussen was newly married to Lazarus ex-boyfriend, and authorities suspect it may have been a crime of passion. According to the LA Times, Nels claimed Lazarus threatened his daughter in the months before her murder, telling her If I cant have John, nobody can. On Feb. 24, 1986, Sherris husband returned to their condominium and found his wifes body on the living room floor. She was beaten badly, had several bite marks, and had been shot multiple times. The couples marriage license had also been stolen from the condo. Two men who had robbed a woman in the area at gunpoint were the lead suspects. Sherris parents offered a $10000 reward for the mens capture, but a search for the men led nowhere, and the case went cold. Back then, the LAPD were dismissive of the requests of Sherris parents to have Lazarus investigated. Fast forward to 2009 when DNA evidence can narrow down the suspects. After testing Sherris bite marks for DNA, it came back female, which then prompted detectives to obtain a DNA sample from Lazarus. Stephanie Lazarus was arrested Friday at police headquarters, and is being held without bail. Her arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday and if convicted, she could face the death penalty.
