The Density of a Black Hole Consider that a black hole has the same density as the earth if it was squashed down to the size of a golf ball. It's a difficult fact to comprehend and for a long time black holes formed the stuff of science fiction but now they are a scientific fact. Catch the series - Mondays at 9PM on Discovery UK

7 Layer Density - Cool Science Experiment Check out this and other cool science experiments at Everyone knows that vegetable oil and water dont mix. Thats because the two liquids have different densities. Density is basically how much stuff is smashed into a particular area or a comparison between an objects mass and volume. So, the exact same volume of two liquids may actually have different masses, so they would have different densities. Thats why vegetable oil floats on top of water. About Steve Spangler Science... Steve Spangler is a celebrity teacher, science toy designer, speaker, author and an Emmy award-winning television personality. Spangler is probably best known for his Mentos and Diet Coke geyser experiment that went viral in 2005 and prompted more than 1000 related YouTube videos. Spangler is the founder of , a Denver-based company specializing in the creation of science toys, classroom science demonstrations, teacher resources and home for Spangler's popular science experiment archive and video collection. !!FLOAT AN EGG IN THE MIDDLE OF WATER!! (DENSITY COLUME) SCIENCE EXPERIMENT !!FLOAT AN EGG IN THE MIDDLE OF WATER!! (DENSITY COLUME) SCIENCE EXPERIMENT Crazy Chris shows you how to float an egg in the middle of water, not just on top, but in the middle of water, WHOA! Objective: To understand how density works and how you can change the density of a liquid. Materials Needed: - Cups - Eggs - Salt Step 1) Fill 3 glasses with 250ml of water and place a fresh egg in one of the glasses, watch as it sinks. Step 2) Put 4 tsp of salt into one of the glasses stir it up and place an egg in the water. Watch as it floats. StStep 3) Put 4 tsp of salt into the final glass stir it up and pour out some of the salt water. Now place an egg in the water. Slowly and carefully pour fresh water into the glass of salt water and watch as the egg sinks down till the middle. HOW IT WORKS: Denisty is the amount of space something takes up per volume and when you add more mass to the same amount of space being taken up you can change the density of a liquid. When you drop a raw egg into fresh water the egg doesnt displace enough water making the egg more dence then the water around it. Creating an unbalanced force which sends the egg to the bottom of its container. When you add 4 tsp of salt to 250 ml of water and stir, the salt crystals break down into molecules and and fill in the holes inbetween the water molecules. The solution now has more mass in the same space or volume, which changes the density of the water. When you add the egg to the salt water you displace the ...

Determining the Density of a Gummi Bear Joanne creates a density gradient column inspired by the one in Steve Spangler's new book *** Eggs and Flying Potatoes to demonstrate the process of determining the density of irregular objects. First she calculates the density (or specific gravity) of a gummi bear from the known weight in grams divided by the volume in milliliters (or centimeters cubed), and then checks to see where in the column the gummi bear comes to rest. Joanne also describes how scientists use density columns to separate out objects of different densities such as organelles and blood cells. A special thanks is due to photographer Jenice Johnson for her gummi bear photo. You can see more at http

The DENSITY Song - Mr. Edmonds - Tune sounds like "Popular" from "Wicked" This is the song my students have continued to like a lot because of its tune (sounds like "Popular" from the musical, "Wicked"). If you teach from the STC/MS series "Properties of Matter" this sums up some concepts from lessons 2-4. Enjoy and learn about mass, volume, and density. Words and Chords are in the DOCS section of TeacherTube for "dsecms".

Neutral Density (ND) Glass Filters Tutorial (HD) This video is a short tutorial, covering the basics and additional information about using a ND (or Neutral Density) glass filters for digital and film SLR cameras. Enjoy! Oh, by the way, there are funny typos all over the place, "Ultraviolent", it is actually "ultraviolet" (or UV). Update: We forgot about Bower, Canon, Hitech, Kenko, and Marumi. Unfortunately, they fall under not-recommended brands category. Thisvideo is available in High Definition (HD), hover the mouse above "360p" to extend out different video quality options, for HD (High Definition), click on 720p or 1080p. If you are having trouble watching the video smoothly, add this code, &fmt=22 to the end of this video's URL address then press Enter / Return to reload the video, it will play nicely in HD.
