Spinal Decompression, Ambulatory Spinal Traction, Vertetrac, Dr. Steve Horwitz ring relief to people suffering from lumbar spine related injuries and disorders, including herniated discs, lower back, and Sciatica. The device is a patented ambulatory traction system offering an ambulatory treatment method as an alternative to surgery, body braces, or traction bed treatments. What really sets Vertetrac apart from other lumbar spine treatments is its ability to enable traction in three dimensions (see diagram below). In effect, Vertetrac combines conservative traction with a horizontal force. This unique combination is what enables simultaneous 3D treatment with asymmetrical traction options. Vertetrac has many other important advantages. First, treatment sessions are significantly shorter and can be completed with minimal interruption of the patient's daily routine (sessions last less than 30 minutes per day). Secondly, patients wearing the device have the freedom to move and perform light activities during treatment, including walking, standing, or sitting. Another advantage is Vertetrac's compact size. Since it is a small and portable unit, the Vertetrac does not take up valuable clinic space. Some users with chronic back problems even carry a unit with them while traveling to avoid missing treatment sessions. Finally, the Vertetrac is so easy to use, patients enduring long-term care can easily be taught to administer self-treatment from the comfort of their own home. Treatment and recovery, as a result, become more convenient and patients feel that ...

Explosive Decompression [part 1/2] Mythbusters test to see if a bullet fired on an airplane will result in explosive decompression.

Effects Of Explosive Cabin Decompression On Crew This shows a passenger can be ejected by explosive decompression, that is why the B-29 had a cage to keep crew from being shot out is explosive decompression occurs. It is pretty much a myth that a small handgun can cause explosive decompression. Under normal conditions most commercial and military aircraft have enough margin of error (extra strength), that in most cases a small caliber gun is just going to make a small hole and make no noticeable cabin pressure lose. The occupant is not sucked out. The higher relative pressure inside the cabin pushes the passenger out. Suck is not a real technical term in physics. You can't really pull on air; you can push on air and do push it. If you keep your seatbelts fastened, then even if there were to be an explosive decompression, you would still remain inside. Most passenger aircraft the windows are too small to have an adult to be easily be blown out. Depressurization lift you up? Not normally. Gravity is still a factor. Assuming the plane is upright and pulling 1 positive G in a normal attitude. If you were in a stairwell and an overhead window blew out, then it is possible you could be blown directly upward. But I can't think off hand of any aircraft that is configure in a way that is likely. The closest I can think of is a case like is a cabin failure like. . Flight 243 I doubt the depressurization blast itself would normally be powerful enough to lift you up enough to blow you out. But the ...

He recently launched http for patients, physicians, colleagues and other spine surgeons to use as a 2nd resource when seeking out information on conditions and surgical options relating to the spine. Dr. Corenman recently created this live spine surgery video (on anterior cervical decompression and fusion (ACDF) to provide an explanation of this particular spine surgery. The ACDF procedure is performed for cervical instability, painful degenerative disc disease, bone spur compressing the nerve root or spinal cord, herniated disc or even fracture. The purpose of this surgery is to restore the collapsed disc to the original height before degenerative changes occurred, remove herniation or bone spur to free the nerves or spinal cord and stabilize the segment to prevent further detrimental motion. The spine surgeon will perform this surgery with anterior surgery (from the front of the neck). During this live spine surgery video, an anterior cervical decompression and ...

Chiari Decompression - Surgery for Chiari Malformation Chiari malformation is a condition in which the cerebellum (a structure in the back and bottom of the brain) protrudes into the spinal c***. Chiari type I malformation usually causes symptoms in young adults and is often associated with syringomyelia, in which a tubular fluid cavity develops within the spinal cord. Symptoms of Chiari type I malformation typically begin with headaches occuring when straining and may progress to numbness and weakness in the arms and legs, difficulty walking, and bowel and bladder problems. Surgical treatment of Chiari type I malformation is usually required to prevent progression of symptoms. Surgery typically consists of removal of bone at the base of the skull and the first cervical spine segment, followed by placement of a graft to expand the dura (the covering over the brain and spinal cord) to create more room for the descended cerebellum and take pressure off the spinal cord. Chiari type II malformation is typically diagnosed shortly after birth. It is frequently associated with a myelomeningocele (a developmental defect of the spine) and hydrocephalus (abnormal accumulation of spinal fluid in the brain). Chiari type II malformation and its associated conditions are usually treated by pediatric neurosurgeons soon after birth. For more information please visit:

The Physics of Starship Battles- Explosive Decompression Here is an explanation of the concept of atmospheric pressure, demonstrated via the phenomenon of explosive decompression. Using many recognizable science fiction movie clips, I explain the force of the atmosphere itself, and all the various (destructive) effects it produces on individuals on Earth and in space. After producing several of my MathMan videos, I came down with severe writers block for over 6 months where I started -and stopped- work on a 5th math movie twice. I only finally broke out of my rut after power-reading the entirety of David Weber's Honor Harrington novels, where exploding starships, and explosive decompression, happen quite frequently. If you need good military sci fi then seek them out. Meanwhile, check back frequently for more physics movies.

3 Phases of Spinal Decompression Therapy using the DTS System Oviedo Family Chiropractic is proud to be one of the few offices to offer Spinal Decompression Therapy to our community and patients. Spinal Decompression therapy is designed to help patients who suffer from disc problems including bulging, herniated, or degenerated discs in the neck and low back. Symptoms include neck, back, arm, wrist, or leg pain, numbness, and even sciatica. This exciting therapy offers a high success rate, especially when combined with corrective chiropractic care and spinal rehabilitation. We utilize the DTS Triton system, one of the most sophisticated computerized traction systems available. This system provides comfortable positioning and versatility in targeting each patients individual needs. While not all patients qualify for this type of care, Spinal Decompression Therapy is ideal for patients who have disc problems that are prohibiting them from achieving their maximum health potential and keeping them from participating in activities they enjoy. This therapy can take them to the next level in healing and help avoid potentially dangerous spinal injections or surgery.

Explosive Decompression - U-2 High Altitude Chamber Training - Life in a ziploc bag Hypoxia, decompression sickness, gas expanding, body fluids boiling from the inside out are just a few of the things that can go wrong when you go to the edge of space and dance with death. But this doesn't keep the U-2 Dragon Lady pilots from flying into the unknown. But prior to ascending to the stars, each Dragon tamer has to go through the Chamber and deal with life in a Ziploc Bag. From overcoming psychological dangers, claustrophobia, learning to eat and drink from a tube, going to the bathroom, to dealing with emergencies such as an explosive decompression, pilots need to know how to handle anything because you are all alone up there. This video is a brief overview of the Full Pressure Suit (FPS) High Altitude Chamber training needed to be a passenger in the U-2 Dragon Lady. From an in-depth class room session outlining operational use of the FPS and human physiology, to the intricacies of getting suited up in the FPS. The video then shows the rigors of testing the suit to ensure nothing goes wrong as the applicant is taken to 75000 feet. Once inside the chamber, half a dozen Airmen from the 9th Physiological Support Squadron at Beale AFB, make sure that Sagar Pathak successfully demonstrates the proper techniques and emergency procedures needed to survive a flight in the U-2. At the 3 minute mark in the video, as the altitude passes "Armstrong's Line" and exposed fluid boils. If Sagar was not in a pressure suit, he would die within moments. At the 3 minute 35 ...
