Original Crossroads - Bone Thugs n Harmony The better version IMO. Was first originally on the album "E. 1999 Eternal" when it was released, but when Eazy E passed on due to AIDS in March of 1995, the group and their producer, DJ U-Neek, decided to remake the song. The song "Crossroad" was originally dedicated to Bone's deceased friends, but after the death of Eazy-E they remade it as "Tha Crossroads". It was then replaced over the original version on the album, and ended up becoming the hit single/video that it was.

Crossroads movie blues guitar clip 1 This is opening guitar part is a depiction of Robert Johnson who is perhaps the most notorious Bluesman in history. The song is "The Crossroads", one of 29 compositions, and one of 42 known recordings (figures from Wikipedia) I love the timing and feel between the guitar and vocals. I think his guitar work is underrated, sing along guitar playing tends to be simplistic/economical, but I think it is strong and evocative, a truely inspiring work of art.

1968 Cream Farewell : Cross Roads Robert Johnson is the undisputed king of the Mississippi Delta blues singers and one of the most original and influential voices in American music. He was a virtuoso player whose spiritual descendants include Eric Clapton, Keith Richards and Jack White. Johnson's recorded legacy — a mere twenty-nine songs cut in 1936 and '37 — is the foundation of all modern blues and rock. He either wrote or adapted from traditional sources many of the most popular blues songs of all time, including "Cross Road Blues," "Sweet Home Chicago" and "I Believe I'll Dust My Broom." Johnson, the illegitimate son of a Mississippi sharecropper, poured every ounce of his own poverty, wandering and womanizing into his work — documenting black life in the Deep South beneath the long shadow of slavery with haunted intensity. "It was almost as if he felt things so acutely he found it almost unbearable," Clapton said of Johnson's music. Legend has it that Johnson made a deal with the devil to acquire his guitar gifts. There was certainly a lot of daredevilry in his flouting of standard tempos and harmonics; his records are breathtaking displays of melodic development and acute brawn. Johnson died in 1938 at twenty-seven. { so did Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison! } Fifty-eight years later, a box set of his recordings was certified platinum. Asher Roth and the Racial Crossroads A commentary that was supposed to be about Asher Roth but turned into an extended tangent about race in America. I had a million other things I wanted to say so I'll try and follow up soon, cuz even though I know the Asher story is old I think the underlying issues run deep. I recorded conversations with Dan Charnas and Amanda Diva that were a big part of my thought process for this one but couldn't work them into this vid.. will definitely get some of that footage up later.

Roots of Blues -- Robert Johnson „Cross Road Blues" Recorded: Place ?, November 27, 1936Robert Johnson (g) (vcl) Robert Leroy Johnson (May 8, 1911 -- August 16, 1938) is among the most famous of Delta blues musicians. His landmark recordings from 1936--1937 display a remarkable combination of singing, guitar skills, and songwriting talent that have influenced generations of musicians. Johnson's shadowy, poorly documented life and death at age 27 have given rise to much legend. Considered by some to be the "Grandfather of Rock 'n' Roll", his vocal phrasing, original songs, and guitar style have influenced a broad range of musicians, including Muddy Waters, John Fogerty, Bob Dylan, Johnny Winter, Jimi Hendrix, The Yardbirds, Cream, Led Zeppelin, The Allman Brothers Band, The Rolling Stones, Paul Butterfield, The Band, Neil Young, Warren Zevon, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Robert Palmer, Jack White and Eric Clapton, who called Johnson "the most important blues musician who ever lived". He was also ranked fifth in Rolling Stone's list of 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. He is an inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Robert Johnson was born in Hazlehurst, Mississippi probably on May 8, 1911, to Julia Major Dodds and Noah Johnson. Julia was married to Charles Dodds, a relatively prosperous landowner and furniture maker to whom she had borne 10 children. Dodds had been forced by a lynch mob to leave Hazlehurst following a dispute with white landowners. Julia herself left Hazlehurst with baby Robert, but after some two years ...

Cyndi Lauper & Jonny Lang - Crossroads - Howard Stern Show - 6/22/10 "Howard said that Cyndi has put together this band and she's got the genius Jonny Lang in it with her. Fred said the guy has made Blues his own. He said he's a great guitar player. Howard said they have Steve on drums and William on bass. Howard talked to those guys for a minute. Howard asked Cyndi if she was ready to go. She said she was so Howard told her to go right ahead and play. They performed a cover of ''Crossroads.'' They did a cover of the slower blues version of the song and not like the version that Cream did. That's the one Howard really liked. "
