City Of Cranes - UK August 2009 Taking the viewer on a journey high up into the sky, this HD film is a stunning portrait of the lives of crane drivers. Divided into four chapters, it allows you to experience what it feels like to work hundreds of feet above the ground only surrounded by a small metal cage. 'You see all kinds of strange things', says the crane driver. His work is a time to reflect on life:'People have got set patterns. You make a little story up about their life in your head'. Guilelessly eloquent musings offset gorgeous aerial shots. 'Weve got the 360 degree perspective of how Londons changing' the driver observes. A fascinating, awe-inspiring ride.

Einaudi - The Crane Dance Cranes are large, long-legged and long-necked birds of the order Gruiformes, and family Gruidae. There are fif*** species. Unlike the similar-looking but unrelated herons, cranes fly with necks outstretched, not pulled back. Cranes live on all continents except Antarctica and South America. Most species of cranes are at least threatened, if not critically endangered, within their range. The plight of the Whooping Cranes of North America inspired some of the first US legislation to protect endangered species.

Cranes - Jewel Cranes has to be my all-time favorite band (please don't call them "The" Cranes). They Hail from Portsmouth, England and take their name from the huge dock cranes which dominate the horizon. Although originally formed in the 80's they met with their greatest successes in the 90's. The band did have a reputation for tech/equipment problems at their shows, and I've witnessed it as well, but they never failed to hold the crowd in awe. A GREAT band to see live! The best show for me was their performance at the 9:30 club in Washington DC (what a great venue!) during their tour in 1993 to promote the "Forever" CD, Jim, Alison and the boys were at their peak (no equipment failures either!). Hope you enjoy these posts (re-posts), and keep buying their CD's (residuals are a wonderful thing!) They gave their best, I'd love to see them get a little back for their efforts!

Paper Cranes - Joseph Birdsong (original) Paper Cranes - Joseph Birdsong is now available to download online at iTunes and other places on the Phase 3 EP! xoxo. yes the breaks don't match up with the music. there were what i like to call "severe audio problems" meaning i screwed it up and it's my own fault. also if i look sweaty it's because i am. we don't have a/c. anyway, twitter me at: my music myspace: (it'll have more soon.) or visit my site: disneykid1.com oh, this song isn't about anything in particular. i like imagining things and making songs about them. did you know if you make 1000 paper cranes you get to make a wish? lyrics i made a thousand paper cranes, i thought that you would stay but you left me anyway, maybe i will be okay. out the door, there's nothing more that i can say to make you stay what was it for, i'm not that sure, as i watched you fly away just like the thousand paper cranes, i thought would make you stay but you left me anyway, things really aren't okay. now i'm alone and i'm unsure just where to go, but this i know tomorrow came it's still the same, and for a while i will be making paper cranes today, honestly i thought you'd stay but it's funny in that way, i guess i'm gonna be okay. i'll keep making paper cranes, it's all i have to keep me sane making paper cranes today, making paper cranes today, making paper cranes today., and maybe soon i'll be okay.

Vitas-crane's crying It is the Performance of 2006 New year's eve in channel 1. Crane's Crying ( translator / Natalie ) I meet your look, We did not speak about love with you for a long time... I'll tell about love by a night rain You speak by a noise of leaves. I'll shout by crane's cry: I love you! And I'll answer with a cross-wind I love you! There are many words, Also the spring has many flowers. Only I cannot tell by words. Only the Moon is worthy you from all heavenly bodies. I'll shout by crane's cry: I love you! And I'll answer with a cross-wind I love you! Let a wind, rains And shouts of the bird's flocks far off Will be by our conversation about love. And I'll answer with a cross-wind I love you!

Летят журавли / The Cranes Are Flying - 1/10 * 1956 was the 20th Congress of the Communist Party and the Soviet Premier Krushchev made a speech denouncing Stalin and the Stalinist purges and the gulag labor systems, revealing information that was previously forbidden, publicly revealing horrible new truths, which opened the door for a new Soviet Cinema led by Mikhail Kalatozov, once Stalin's head of film production. This film features a Red Army that is NOT victorious, in fact they are encircled, in a retreat mode, with many people dying, including the hero, in a film set after 06-02-41, the German invasion of Russia when Germany introduced the Barbarossa Plan, a blitzkrieg invasion intended to bring about a quick victory and the ultimate enslavement of the Slavs, and very nearly succeeded, actually getting within 20 miles of Moscow in what was a Red Army wipe out, a devastation of human losses, 15 to 20 million Russians died, or 20% of the entire population. Historically, this was a moment of great trauma and suffering, a psychological shock to the Russian people, but the Red Army held and prolonged the war 4 more years until they were ultimately victorious. During the war, Stalin used the war genre in films for obvious morale boosting, introducing female heroines who were ultra-patriotic and strong and idealistic, suggesting that if females could be so successful and patriotic, then Russia could expect at least as much from their soldiers. Stalin eliminated the mass hero of the proletariat and replaced it with an ...
