The Two United (3:03) Ambitus is a word used by composers when they want to sound smart. (Yes, I want you to think I'm smart.) It refers to the distance between the lowest and highest notes of a given musical passage. Naturally, with the given instrumentation, (as I smartly discovered) the highest notes will be very high and the lowest notes will be very low. The first movement is - well I cant tell you about the first movement because its a surprise. The second movement is also exactly what it sounds like.
