  • Sharwood's Papadums, Chutneys & Tamarind Sauce! Papadums are one of my all-time favorite snacks. Here's how I enjoy them! :) *LOUD BIRD CALL at 02:47 -- I apologize for my ekkie, Maggie! I edited out several others but missed this one, apparently. *shy* Alright, back to the subject matter: Papadums are healthy, vegan and gluten-free; quick, easy and delicious! These are crisp, thin bean wafers which bubble and change shape when cooking. Papadums are from East Indian cuisine, and they are both vegan and gluten free. Usually served as an appetizer in US restaurants, papadums are made from a base of legume flour of some kind (typically lentil-based; these from Sharwood's have black graham bean flour and some rice as well in them) and a leavening agent. They are traditionally eaten with chutneys (Indian condiments; most with a texture similar to chunky salsa) and other dipping sauces. In this video, I share about Sharwood's Puppodums (the spelling of these crunchy, delectable yummies can vary!); two different chutneys and tamarind paste! I make a dipping sauce with the. latter. All items may be found at Whole Foods or other fine health food grocers. Enjoy! ;) ~*This is AnaGirlEmpath's debut how-to/info video made especially for the collaborative channel she runs with @SessanDydland: @EDCommunityRecipe! • Ruth Clemens' Spiced Apple Chutney Recipe! Ruth shows you that making chutney is a quick and easy process of cooking chopped autumn fruit with flavourings and spices, sugar and vinegar. This will make a rich chutney that will see you through for months or you can give as a gift to someone special. Chutneys are best left to mature for a couple of months before eating because the acids from the vinegar soften and the fruit flavours have time to meld and become more complex. Home-made chutney is a great staple for the larder and is more useful than you might think. Chutneys can be enjoyed with sharp, mature cheddar and other hard cheeses.
