The Wedding Chapel at Allaire Simple in its beauty and understated elegance, the Chapel in the Historic Village of Allaire has become one of the most popular wedding spots at the Jersey shore. For nearly two hundred years, this early 19th century church, listed on the National Register of Historic Sites, has played host to thousands of weddings, including that of Thomas Andrews and his betrothed, Maria Haggerty Allaire, James P. Allaires own daughter. The Chapel, decorated in period colors with rich beige walls and white trim, light oak flooring and pews and just a hint of blue on the altar, sets a neutral backdrop that compliments any brides color scheme. The pristine setting of Allaire State Park and the Historic Village of Allaire make the perfect setting for wedding photos as well. Climate controlled and ADA compliant with a ramp for those who might be physically challenged, the Chapel is available for weddings, christenings and baptisms, memorial and church services. For more information, please contact the Wedding Coordinator Monday through Friday between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM at (732) 919-3500 and let the Historic Village of Allaire help to make your Special Day a much more memorable one. Costumed interpreters in period dress will be on hand to host your wedding and see to any special needs or requirements that you or your guests may have.

Christmas Chapel I, O Come All Ye Faithful I love the Christmas Eve services and the traditions that go along with them. In our church, it means lighting candles and passing them symbolically from one person to another. As I envisioned this tradition on canvas, I began to imagine that in an ideal world the Christmas Eve service would happen in a country chapel along a snowy wooded lane. I envision this painting as the first in a series of three Christmas Chapels, each taking their inspiration from a classic Christmas carol. My prayer is that this series will give each of us a chance to rekindle the simple joys of the Christmas season. -Thomas Kinkade

"St Peter's and Sistine Chapel" Travellingross's photos around Vatican City, Italy A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Vatican City, Italy by TravelPod blogger Travellingross titled "St Peter's and Sistine Chapel". TravelPod is a company of TripAdvisor™. Travellingross's travel blog entry: "Never thought I would spend the whole day at the Vatican, but I did. Started at St Peter's Square, which is open to the general public and not behind the Vatican City walls. The weather wasn't too good initially but cleared up after I got out of the Basilica. Didn't take long to get in. The Basilica is so clean, huge and perfect. It looks so well maintained that u would think it was only built a decade or so ago. I did actually think it was older than the 1500's. They knocked down the original to build this one. So many side chapels, monuments and mosaics. The Altar is v impressive. Along the side are tombs containing the bodies of former Pope's -- u can actually see the body inside the glass coffin! I did the audio tour, which was good albeit long and sometimes preachy. I had planned to get there for the 10am mass service (Nan would be proud of me). It was entirely in Italian & only 40 mins because no sermon, but it is a lasting memory for me that I have had communion at the Vatican in St Peter's Basilica. The mass was held in a side chapel where it is believed St Peter was crucified (he was hung on a cross upside down because he did not believe he was worthy to die the same way as Jesus!). All fascinating stuff and, again, so much history. Now I ...

Chapels feelings for wolfgang/crooks [3:05:22 AM] Chapel: First off, I'm going to let you know that we knew it was you about 12 hours ago. Second, why are you such a ***ing pubbie? Third, why are you such a ***ing pubbie? [3:10:21 AM] Chapel: Actually, I dont mind going real on you: Im not often in your company, let alone in Tinychat. Having said that, youre claim that "we need to leave her alone" should likely be addressed. [3:12:02 AM] Chapel: Given that you are currently acting like an internet faggot, which is frankly, beneath you, and Constance ALWAYS acts like an internet faggot, you two likely spend a lot of time together. Keeping that in mind, have you considered for a moment that you may be skewed in what you know? Have you considered ONCE, that it may be possible that in 4 months, we have not only left Constance alone, but not given a living *** about her? [3:12:40 AM] Chapel: And that MAYBE, Wolfgang, she's RELIABLY been harassing, ARing, harrassing, harrasing, and harrasing the three of us ever since? [3:14:35 AM] Chapel: Dont get me wrong, the three of us have all of our *** backed up, and arent attatched to names, but the fact that you are clearly falling for such an act of victimisation from someone who is actively (and via logs, provedly) trying to harass us to no end, speaks worlds of you. [3:16:37 AM] Chapel: Quit acting like such a faggot and grow a dick. You're basking in the worship of pubbie ***s who have zero grasp on reality, let alone sensitibility. [3:18:49 AM] Chapel: As ...

Chile: Desert Chapels -Trailer This trailer presents the first 10 minutes of the CRTN - documentary "Desert Chapels." Production Date: 2005 Duration: 14 Copyright : CRTN Language: English, German, French, Spanish, Czech Executive Producer: Mark Riedemann Director: Agnes Dzieduszycka Rain is almost unheard of in the Atacama, recognized as the driest desert in the world. The barren nature, however, belied a hidden wealth and for a short time this area became a centre of mining for copper, gold and silver. In 1830, the first shipment of nitrates provided a short burst of economic activity, which further drew workers to the region. As with all cycles, however, the boom soon gave way to an economic downturn and in the 1960, the last nitrate mine closed. The miners became obsolete. Poverty stricken families abandoned and continue to abandon the rural areas to seek better luck near Chile's economic centres. The result has been a overcrowding of slums surrounding Chile's main cities. Excepting government programs, one of the few institutions effectively helping the poor is the Catholic Church. Promoting clean water programs, food kitchens and shelters, the Church is also taking into consideration the spiritual needs of the population. One recent initiative has been the development of small chapels to provide the poor a place to gather, pray and receive the sacraments As Christiane Raczynski, Aid to the Church in Need Director and supporter of the Chapels for Chile outreach explains: "How can we have vocations ...

Over 3000 students, faculty and staff gathered in Biola's Chase Gymnasium on Wednesday, August 25 to kick off the first day of classes at the Fall 2010 Convocation Ceremony. This year's incoming class marks the largest in Biola's history by far--over 1300 new undergraduates. These men and women come from 42 states and 16 countries, and in keeping with Biola's high standards of academic excellence, they have an average unweighted GPA of 3.52. These new students, along with 17 new faculty, were ceremonially introduced and welcomed into the Biola community. President Corey charged and commissioned the new students and faculty to academic excellence and to uphold Biola's mission and vision. Returning faculty lined the first rows of bleachers, extending their hands in a prayer of dedication. Participating in the ceremony for the very first time was new Provost, Dr. David Nystrom. Nystrom presented the new faculty to President Corey, while also receiving the charge given by the President.
