The Inner Life of the Cell Harvard University selected XVIVO to develop an animation that would take their cellular biology students on a journey through the microscopic world of a cell, illustrating mechanisms that allow a white blood cell to sense its surroundings and respond to an external stimulus. This award winning piece was the first topic in a series of animations XVIVO is creating for Harvards educational website BioVisions at Harvard.
Cell Block Tango from "Chicago" "Cell Block Tango" from the movie Chicago. For those who are wondering, the speech by Hunyak, who is Hungarian, translated is: "What am I doing here? They say my famous tenant held down my husband and I chopped his head off. But it's not true. I am innocent. I don't know why Uncle Sam says I did it. I tried to explain at the police station but they didn't understand." credit for that information goes to

The wonders of a tiny cell a brief animation of one of the few things that happend in a cell. Thats when we start to scratch on the surface of some true complex systems. Oh, and this video does in no way say that there is a "God" behind it all. We should atleast learn 1 thing from this, and that is that we really dont know much, yet.

The Schwann Cell and Action Potential This video demonstrates the development of myelin in the peripheral nervous system and the propagation of action potential along a myelinated axon. The video was completed by Marziah Karch as her 2008 sabbatical project from the script and voiceover of Professor Marilyn Shopper. This is close captioned, but in some cases a few of the words were left out to make it possible to read it at all.

The Cell : The Hidden Kingdom BBC الخلية المملكة الخفية In a three-part series, Dr Adam Rutherford tells the extraordinary story of the scientific quest to discover the secrets of the cell and of life itself. Every living thing is made of cells, microscopic building blocks of almost unimaginable power and complexity. The first part explores how centuries of scientific and religious dogma were overturned by the earliest discoveries of the existence of cells, and how scientists came to realize that there was, literally, more to life than meets the eye.

"Cell Respiration" - Cellular Respiration Song A song about Cellular Respiration, based on Black Eyed Pea's "I Gotta Feeling." Lyrics written by, song performed by, and Powerpoint slide show done by a simple high school science teacher named Mr. Hsu. mp3 available (finally): c3 This song and video have been made solely for educational purposes. Its level of depth and detail into the process of cellular respiration are aimed at High School Honors Biology students (at least the ones I teach). If you find any errors or omissions (ie I didn't mention 1,3-biphosphoglycerate), this is due to the fact that I'm not teaching AP Biology or college-level Biology AND I'm being constrained by describing such a complex biochemical process through a fairly recent pop song with incredibly repetitive lyrics. I actually performed this song for my students in class the day before our cellular respiration test. If you're lucky, you might find a video of such a live performance somewhere in the vast internet (quite a few of them were recording me singing it in class, after all). This video is a result of me taking a simple digital camera and aiming it at my computer to try and record the performance my students experienced (so sorry for the crude recording and poor quality). I have recorded an mp3, and if I have time, I will find a place to upload it for public download, so that other Biology students can listen and study for their tests on cellular respiration. Also, if I have time, I may upload a better version of this ...

Eukaryotic Cell Cycle | Biology | Genetics To purchase this DVD please visit Segment from the program Cellular Reproduction: Mitosis, Cytokinesis, and the Cell Cycle DVD Description Our Mitosis DVD starts by introducing the cell cycle and briefly describing the process of binary fusion in prokaryotic cells before going on to a detailed look at the eukaryotic cell cycle from the G1, S and G2 phases of interphase through the prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase phases of mitosis. The difference between cytokinesis in animal and plant cells is then illustrated. The program concludes by explaining why an understanding of cellular division is critical to: conquering cancer, cloning organs, and perhaps even reversing aging.

A Real Example of Cell Communication This 3-D movie is a close look at some of the cell signaling and responses that take place throughout the body during the fight-or- flight response. The dynamic ways in which cells communicate with each other through molecular signals is depicted without focusing on anatomy, vocabulary or chemistry.
