Awesome Video Game Music 171: Philistine (Rank 4: Margaret) *SPOILER ALERT* No More Heroes 2, having finished it recently, was an awesome game. It has its flaws (especially the disappointing final boss), but it's a great sequel to the first game. I'm still having a hell of a time deciding which I like more. They're both so different... One of the main reasons why it's so great is because of its boss battles- and boss music. Especially the theme of Rank 4, Margaret. I've probably never been this quickly hooked by a boss theme. Ever. It's so catchy it should be illegal. It's so catchy that even Travis starts humming it after the battle. Not to mention it establishes Margaret's personality in the absence of a large-scale intro. I love the vocals. The lyrics. The beat. The guitar. Probably my favourite NMH boss theme at the moment. It's just so... upbeat. I love it.

Animals As Leaders-Tempting Time Animals as Leaders is a Washington, DC based instrumental progressive metal project by guitarist Tosin Abasi. Their self-titled debut album was released in April 2009 by Prosthetic Records. Animals as Leaders was formed "out of the ashes" of guitarist Tosin Abasi's previous band, Reflux. The heavy metal record label Prosthetic Records saw Abasi's guitar work and asked him to create a solo album for them. Abasi initially declined, feeling such an endeavor would be "egotistical and unnecessary". When Reflux disbanded, Abasi decided to take the label's offer. The name Animals as Leaders was inspired by Daniel Quinn's 1992 novel Ishmael, which addresses anthropocentrism. Abasi coined the name as a reminder "that we're all essentially animals". The project's first album, Animals as Leaders, was recorded in early 2008. Abasi recorded all guitar and bass tracks on the album; drums and various synthesized effects were programmed by engineer Misha Mansoor. The album was released April 28, 2009 by Prosthetic Records. Reel Big Fish - Your Guts Reel Big Fish is an American ska punk band from Huntington Beach, California, best known for the 1997 hit "Sell Out." The band gained mainstream recognition in the mid-to-late 1990s, during the third wave of ska with the release of the album Turn the Radio Off. Since the band's founding in 1992 and their demo In the Good Old Days..., the only original member remaining is Aaron Barrett. Early The band's debut album, Everything Sucks, was an underground hit and led to a deal with Mojo Records. The album Turn the Radio Off established the band in the ska punk scene, and they began touring throughout the United States. After the single "Sell Out" began breaking into the mainstream, including MTV, the album made an appearance on the charts. However, the ska revival was short-lived, and their 1998 album Why Do They Rock So Hard? did not lead the band into the mainstream. In 1998, the band appeared in the movie BASEketball, performing in the stands to pump up the crowd. Why Do They Rock So Hard? was the last album for three members of the band. Trombonist Grant Barry and trumpet player Tavis Werts were either fired or left the band voluntarily, depending on the source. Drummer Andrew Gonzales left the band to spend more time with his family. Reel Big Fish then had a rotating cast of drummers and trumpeters over the next six years.
