Historic Canner Mansion c.1920 Extraordinary Canner Mansion was built by the affluent cannery owner, AW Feeser, in 1920 and no expense was spared. Grand and gracious with painted metal columns, elegant entry hall, high ceilings, custom millwork and historic detailing, and original leaded glass parlor pocket doors that open to create expansive entertainment spaces. This is a home of rare and beautiful distinction. HISTORY The Canner Mansion was built in 1920 by wealthy canner and agriculturalist, Arthur W. Feeser. The house boasts beautiful Georgian Colonial architecture and sits on the historic Littlestown Pike. Arthur W. Feeser Arthur W. Feeser was born March 11, 1873 in Silver Run, MD. He is responsible for founding and growing AW Feeser & Co., a farm and canning company that employed many Carroll County residents. In addition to his canning company Feeser also founded and Developed Silver Run Herd in 1933, a high quality herd of cattle with the best approved sires and breed. Feeser was very active in local politics and served as the Director of Littlestown Saving Institution and sat of the board of education for Carroll County. Feeser had a wife named Minnie M. Sheets, whom he married in 1897, and a daughter name Lead, who grew up to marry Paul Lawyer, who took over AW Feeser & Co upon Feeser's death in 1945.
Chicken Soup for the Canners Soul...The Adventure Continues (Contest)Closed 4 Qts Chicken Stock (I used 2 boxes) 3 cups diced chicken (I used 3 pounds of chicken breast) 1 medium onion finely diced 1 1/2 cups of diced carrots (about 2 stalks) 1 1/2 cups of diced celery (about 2 carrots) Salt/pepper to taste 3 chicken Bouillon (love that word Bouillon) cubes. Cook diced up chicken then add the vegies salt pepper bouillon cubes. Bring to boil then let simmer 30 minutes. I cooked it for an hour my bad. . Put it in hot jars inch of head space put lids and rings on it put it in pressure canner with about 2 inches of water at the bottom. Process for 1 hour 15 for pints and 1 hour 30 Quarts. 3 prizes at the end of the video.

Canning apple pie filling for the novice canner Apple Pie filling 12 C. apples, peeled, cored, sliced and treated to prevent browning 2 3/4 C. white sugar 3/4 C. ClearJel (see source below) 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (or to taste) 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg (or to taste) 1 1/4 C. cold water 2 1/2 C. unsweetened apple juice 1/2 C. lemon juice After preparing apples, blanche them for one minute in boiling water. Set hot apples aside under a towel. In a large, stainless steel pot, combine rest of ingredients EXCEPT apples and lemon juice. Bring to boil over med-high heat, stirring constantly. Cook until mixture starts to thicken and bubble. Add lemon juice and return to boil, boiling for one minute, again stirring constantly. Turn down heat and fold in apples, cooking until apples are heated through. Ladle apple pie filling into sterolized jars, leaving 1 inch head room space. Remove air bubbles and adjust headspace if necessary (that means adding more apple mixture to equal 1" below rim). Wipe rim. Add lid and screw band down until fingertip tight. Place jars in canning, making sure water covers jars completely when canner is filled. Bring to boil and process for 25 minutes.
