  • Cambodia: CITY OF THE GODS (1of6) [EN] SITUATED between India and China, Southeast Asia has been the birthplace of several cultures, some of which rank among the world's greatest civilizations. Among the Indianized kingdoms which sprang up in Southeast Asia before the Common era, the great Khmer civilization and its capital, Angkor, in modern day Cambodia. The advent of Indians in Southeast Asia has hardly a parallel in history. In view of the ethnic affinities between the prehistoric Austro-Asiatic races of India and those of Suvarnabhumi, contact between the two regions may well go back to the remotest antiquity. Most of the countries of Southeast Asia came under the cultural and religious influence of India. This region was broadly referred to by ancient Indians as Suvarnabhumi (the Land of Gold) or Suvarnadvipa (the Island of Gold). Vedic Indians must have charted Java, Yawadvip, thousands of years ago because Yawadvip is mentioned in India's earliest epic, the Ramayana. The Ramayana reveals some knowledge of the eastern regions beyond seas; for instance Sugriva dispatched his men to Yavadvipa, the island of Java, in search of Sita. Southeast Asia was often called by many British, French and Indian scholars as Farther India, Greater India, L'Inde Exterieure, and the Hinduized or Indianized States. The whole area was so influenced by India, that according to a European scholar who wrote in 1861, that "the Indian countries situated beyond the Ganges hardly deserve the attention of History."The various states ...
  • The Gift of Forgiveness To read more, visit: To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you. ~ Lewis B. Smedes Most of us carry around anger, resentment, jealousy, or some other negative emotion directed to others. Unless dealt with, they will eventually start to broadly affect the quality of our lives and those around us. Forgiveness is the act of unchaining yourself from thoughts and feelings that bind you to an offense, imagined or real, committed against you. It is a commitment to a process of growth and change. The first step is to recognize the value of forgiveness and the positive impact it can have in our lives. When we forgive, we release the control and power of the offending person and stop playing the victim. We no longer define our lives by how we have been hurt and instead can define ourselves by how we have grown. Anger makes you smaller, while forgiveness forces you to grow beyond what you were. ~ Cherie Carter-Scott Main Website: Foundation Website Community Website ©2009Humanity Healing. • Atrium Carceri - A Place to Call Home Strange, isn't it? The fourth album from composer Simon Heath (Sweden) ventures beyond the vestiges of your mortality, granting a fleeting glance at the world beyond the veil. As ever, Simon has reinvented the genre as well as himself with a unique ambience created from his ever-increasingly complex and obscure techniques of mental dissolution and musical innovation. (Cold Meat Industry) Ambient music is a musical genre in which sound is more important than notes. It is generally identifiable as being broadly atmospheric and environmental in nature. It's primary feature is that the music is intended to drift in and out of the listener's awareness while creating its effect on the listener's consciousness. Dark ambient is a general term for any kind of ambient music with a "dark" or dissonant feel, but often involves extensive use of digital reverb to create vast sonic spaces for frightening, bottom-heavy sounds such as deep drones, gloomy male chorus, echoing thunder, and distant artillery. It has an eerie feel. Generally the music tends to evoke a feeling of solitude, melancholy, confinement, and isolation. However, while the theme in the music tends to be "dark" in nature, some artists create more organic soundscapes. (Wikipedia)

  • Beatification of John Paul II Commission of cardinals approves needed miracle January 12, 2011. The beatification of John Paul II is just one step away. The cardinals of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints have approved a miracle through the intercession of John Paul II. This is the necessary step before the Pope convenes the beatification. Benedict XVI will meet in the coming days with Cardinal Angelo Amato, prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, for final approval of the miracle and the announcement date of the beatification. The miracle is the instant and unexplainable healing of the French nun Marie Simon-Pierre, who suffered from a form of Parkinson's. The disease forced her to retire from her duties as a nurse in the maternity hospital of Arles, France. In June 2005, after praying to John Paul II for an improvement in her disease, the Parkinson's totally disappeared. Paris, France, Mar 30, 2007 / 12:13 pm (CNA).- "All I can tell you is that I was sick and now I am cured. It is for the church to say and to recognize whether it is a miracle," so said the 46 year-old Religious Sister who many think may have been miraculously cured through the intercession of the late Pope John Paul II. The French nun, the identity of whom was unknown to the world until this week, spoke to the press in today. According to the Associated Press, Sister Marie Simon-Pierre stopped short of declaring her recovery a miracle, saying that was for the church to decide. But she said her life "totally changed" after her symptoms vanished in one night of ...

  • La Dueña Parte 4 (English Subs) Life seems to smile broadly upon Regina Villareal. Beautiful and extremely wealthy, she lives with her Aunt Berenice, whom she loves as if she were her own mother, and her cousin Laura, whose life is corroded by the envy she has for her cousin. When Regina's fiance, Mauricio, (who only wanted her for her money) abandons her at the altar, Regina's sweet personality turns cold and authoritative. She goes to live on one of her properties, "Los Cascabeles" and there she meets José María, who owns a neighboring ranch. In very short time everyone there grows to hate her because her sadistic foreman, Macario, commits atrocities in her name although she is not aware of it. But José María, a handsome and honest young man, falls in love with Regina's beauty and strong character despite this. In conflict after conflict, his love slowly scales the fortress Regina has built around her heart.

  • BATTLE OF BRITAIN 'Main Theme' - Ron Goodwin Battle of Britain is a 1969 film directed by Guy Hamilton, and produced by Harry Saltzman and S. Benjamin Fisz. The film broadly relates the events of the Battle of Britain. The script by James Kennaway and Wilfred Greatorex was based on the book The Narrow Margin by Derek Wood and Derek Dempster. The film endeavoured to be an accurate account of the Battle of Britain, when in the summer and autumn of 1940 the British RAF inflicted a strategic defeat on the Luftwaffe and so ensured the cancellation of Operation 'Sealion' Hitler's plan to invade Britain. The huge strategic victory of the outnumbered British pilots would be summed up by Winston Churchill in the immortal words: "Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few." The film is notable for its spectacular flying sequences, echoing those seen in Angels One Five (1952) but on a far grander scale than had been seen on film before. These made the film's production very expensive. The film has two musical scores. The first was written by Sir William Walton, and conducted by Malcolm Arnold. However, the music department at United Artists objected that the score was too short. As a result, a further score was commissioned from Ron Goodwin. Producer S. Benjamin Fisz and actor Sir Laurence Olivier protested this decision, and Olivier threatened to take his name from the credits. In the end, one segment of the Walton score, titled The Battle in the Air, which framed the climactic air battles of ...

  • Antibodies and the Quest for an AIDS Vaccine In 2009, the first report of new and more potent HIV-specific broadly neutralizing antibodies kicked off something of an antibody frenzy. Since then, researchers have isolated nearly two dozen broadly neutralizing antibodies from HIV-infected donors. These antibodies are vital clues for HIV vaccine development and are now being used by researchers to try to reverse engineer vaccine immunogens. In this second installment of IAVI Report's Living History of AIDS Vaccine Research, Managing Editor Kristen Jill Kresge and Science Writer Regina McEnery turned to four experts to provide some perspective on these recent advances in antibody research and to frame the current efforts to design vaccine candidates that can induce antibodies against HIV.

  • DRESDEN Brief photo slideshow of the city of Dresden. Dresden is the fourth largest urban district in Germany after Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne. It lies on both banks of the river Elbe, and was sometimes called "Elbflorenz" (Florence of the Elbe) as it offers to the visitor plenty of Baroque-style architecture and numerous world-renowned museums and art collections. Dresden was the capital and royal residence for the Electors and Kings of Saxony. The controversial bombing if the city during WWII by the British and the US Air forces, which completely destroyed the inner city changed the face of Dresden broadly, but considerable restoration work has settled the damage. During the German Democratic Republic, it emerged as a major industrial centre and a cultural, political, and economic centre in East Germany, and many block apartments were build. The original parts of the city are almost all in the districts of Altstadt (Old town) and Neustadt (New town). When I visited it, in 2006, it still seemed that the whole place were under reconstruction. I hope that within the next few years I will have the opportunity to visit Dresden once more, and admire it in full glory. Music: Brahms Hungarian Dance N° 20 in E minor

  • Alex Jones - Herman Cain: Another Establishment 'Pimp' 2_2! September 28th 2011 Herman Cain Describes Ron Paul Supporters' Concerns As "Stupid" Suggests Paul campaign is deliberately out to "nail" him Businessman Herman Cain has made remarks somewhat unbecoming of a presidential candidate, declaring his annoyance at "stupid" questions continually put to him by Ron Paul supporters. The former Godfather's Pizza CEO, who is running for the GOP nomination on a broadly libertarian platform, seems to have a problem with Paulites' concerns regarding the Federal Reserve. "I get the same stupid question at almost every one of these events," Cain writes in a forthcoming book "This is Herman Cain," to be released in early October. According to the Daily Caller, which has obtained an advance copy of the book, Cain claims that Paul's supporters are "threatened by me" and are "trying to destroy me on the fact that I was once affiliated with" the Federal Reserve. Cain even has his own conspiracy theory that Paul's campaign is deliberately sending people out to Cain events to attempt to discredit him: "I know it's a deliberate strategy." Cain writes, "How can a person randomly show up at a hundred events and ask the same stupid question to try to nail me on the Federal Reserve?" Is Cain serious? Clearly he has no concept of the determination and reach of Ron Paul's grassroots support base. Paulites are focused and unwavering, just as their chosen candidate has been for thirty plus years. Ron Paul has warned his supporters for three decades and ...

  • The Northern Indo-Europeans Given the unusual form and fabric of Beaker pottery, and its abrupt appearance in the archaeological record, along with a characteristic group of other artefacts, known as the Bell Beaker package, the traditional explanation for the Beaker culture has been to interpret it as a diffusion of one group of people across Europe. Noting the distribution of Beakers was highest in areas of transport routes, including fording sites, river valleys and mountain passes, it was suggested that Beaker folk were originally bronze traders, who subsequently settled within local Neolithic or early Chalcolithic cultures creating local styles. While broadly related to the Corded Ware culture, the origins of the Bell-Beaker folk are considerably more obscure. The Beaker culture overlapped with the western extremity of Corded Ware culture, west of the Elbe, and may have contributed to the pan-European spread of that culture. There have been many different views concerning the ultimate origins of the Corded Ware culture, broadly divided between archaeologists who see an influence from pastoral societies of the steppes north of the Black Sea and those who think that Corded Ware springs from central Europe. The distribution of the Corded Ware culture coincides in part with the earlier Funnel Beaker Culture, with which it shares a number of features, such as cord impressions on pottery, and the use of horses and wheeled vehicles, with one of the oldest wheels found in southern Germany, dating back ...

  • Dr Bruce Lipton- Where Mind and Matter Meet 17 By Bruce Lipton Recent advances in cellular science are heralding an important evolutionary turning point. For almost fifty years we have held the illusion that our health and fate were pre programmed in our genes, a concept referred to as genetic determinacy. Though mass consciousness is currently imbued with the belief that the character of one's life is genetically predetermined, a radically new understanding is unfolding at the leading edge of science. Cellular biologists now recognize that the environment, the external universe and our internal physiology, and more importantly, our perception of the environment, directly controls the activity of our genes. This video will broadly review the molecular mechanisms by which environmental awareness interfaces genetic regulation and guides organismal evolution

  • Atrium Carceri - Observatory What you hear: ("Atrium Carceri" - "Observatory" from the album "Ptahil") The fourth album from composer Simon Heath (Sweden) ventures beyond the vestiges of your mortality, granting a fleeting glance at the world beyond the veil. • La Dueña Parte 2 (English Subs) Life seems to smile broadly upon Regina Villareal.

  • Monoliths of Europe This is a re mix of an old favorite. The sound quality is much better as with the photos. I hate to get rid of the old version of this video and lose all the wonderful comments but it has to be done. Enjoy! A stone row or stone alignment is a linear arrangement of upright, parallel megalithic standing stones set at intervals along a common axis or series of axes, usually dating from the later Neolithic or Bronze Age.Rows may be individual or grouped, and three or more stones alined can constitute a stone row. "Alignement", a French word , has been used to identify standing stones rows of long 'processional' avenue.Stone rows differ from a prehistoric avenue, in that the stones are always in a broadly straight line rather than following a more curving route. Stone rows can be few metres or several kilometres in length and made from stones that can be as tall as 2m, although 1m high stones are more common. The terminals of many rows have the largest stones and other megalithic features are sometimes sited at the ends, especially burial cairns. The stones are placed at intervals and may vary in height along the sequence, to provide a gradated appearance, though it is not known whether this was done deliberately. Stone rows were erected by the later Neolithic and Bronze Age peoples in the British Isles, parts of Scandinavia and northern France. A hill fort is a fortified refuge or defended settlement, located to exploit a rise in elevation for military advantage. The ...
  • GHRF2006: Realizing the Korean Dream *Topic: Realizing the Korean Dream - A Knowledge Driven Economy, Healthy Families, and Thriving Communities *Speaker: - Thomas A. Kochan , Professor of MIT Workplace Center, USA *Summary: A knowledge economy needs a broadly shared commitment to building a knowledge-based, skilled, and motivated workforce and the workplace, labor market and community institutions and relationships. Today, all who participate in the labor force have to be the "knowledge workers" of the future, not just an elite sub-set of the workforce. To achieve this requires a broadly shared vision and coordinated, collaborative strategy for the ways the economy can compete and the type of society a country aspires to achieve. The basic ingredients for success and many of the key organizations and sectors of the economy and society that need to work toward a knowledge-based society have participated in this conference. The question going forward from here is whether all these parties, and others with a stake in the future, will work together. It is an honor and privilege to participate in this global HR Forum focused on the future of the Korean economy and society. The rich array of experts who have presented ideas at this conference have provided a great deal of food for thought and action in the years to come. Now comes the challenge of putting these ideas to work. Doing so will require leaders from all sectors to develop a shared vision and strategy for moving forward and to work together to build the ...

  • Mysticism and Science-CG Jung The rift between mysticism and the modern sciences derives mainly from elements of scientism in the latter: certain branches of the natural sciences, broadly disavow subjective experience as meaningless, misunderstanding the limitations of the ancient languages. Physicist David Bohm speaking of consciousness expressing itself as matter and/or energy would be completely understood by the mystic, whatever his cultural/religious heritage. The mystic's attempt to describe cause and effect between one's internal state and the miraculous, hints at a close connection between psychological stability (ego transcendence) and the mysterious realm of causality quantum physicists are now deciphering - dimensional reality shifts that synchronize with states of consciousness and unconflicted choices. Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961) a Swiss psychiatrist and psycho***yst who groundbreaking work in depth psychology was greatly influenced by his exploration of alchemy, astrology, and mythology. Jung introduce the concept of psychological archetypes into psychotherapy. A student and follower of Sigmund Freud, he broke tradition with Freud, who ideas about the development of the psychical processes he found too limiting. Jung spent a great deal of his time doing his own personal introspection which influenced his ideas on the role of spirituality, dreams, and art as important components of the integrative process. Carl Jung was particularly important in rediscovering and bringing to light the ...
  • Henrik Freischlader Cry Again Henrik Freischlader is a German guitarist who just released his fifth album called Recorded by Martin Meinschäfer, an album that is of exceptionally high quality. The album broadly fits in the Blues-rock category, yet his playing is thoughtful and restrained, there is no excess use of notes. Also Freischlader is no soundalike, and avoids the clichés that can be the pitfalls of the genre. Henriks vocals are clear, non-accented and very soulful. It is refreshing to pick up a modern blues based album with such a strong set of original songs! • Lowkey - Defend the Muslim Community Launch meeting of Kafa - Enough a Campaign to defend muslim communities. --------------------------------------------------- Founding Statement: Muslims in Britain face attacks on many fronts. A broadly based campaign is being launched to confront the growth of racist attitudes towards Muslims and rising governmental and state harassment. It is supported by Muslim organisations, MPs, trade unionists, prominent members from the world of arts and media, church representatives Founding Statement Muslims in Britain are facing attacks on many fronts. These include: * The high-profile arrests under terror legislation of Muslims who are subsequently released without charge, creating a climate of fear and harassment; * An increase in violent attacks on Muslims in the streets and on Muslim places of worship; * The targetting of Muslims by the far-right British National Party; * Aggressive policing of Muslims on demonstrations, apparently designed to deter them from participating in peaceful protests; * The racist misrepresentation of Muslim views and practices in the mass media; * The political harassment of Muslim leaders by government ministers. These and other developments threaten to create a climate of hostility towards Muslims in Britain in contradiction to traditional tolerance and damaging to community cohesion. We believe that all people should come together in support of Muslims in Britain, and not leave them to confront these challenges alone. We call ...

  • Dr Bruce Lipton -Where Mind and Matter Meet 1 By Bruce Lipton Recent advances in cellular science are heralding an important evolutionary turning point. For almost fifty years we have held the illusion that our health and fate were preprogrammed in our genes, a concept referred to as genetic determinacy.
