Bridie Carter - Dancing With The Stars - Week 9 - Pt 2/3 Vote for Bridie! 1902 55 77 16 or SMS 'Bridie' to 19 19 77 FINAL NEXT WEEK!! Argentinian Tango. Scored 35 and finished 1st in this part. =1st for the night. She progressed to the FINALE next week! :) VOTE PEOPLE VOTE!!!! :) I really liked this. This is the first really OTT theatrical number they have tried to do and this was pretty darn clever. Hard to do two tangos back to back ... they did great. Off the final now!!! If you can, get behind Bridie and vote!

Bridie Carter - Dancing With The Stars - Finale - Round 2 No need to vote anymore. :) Guess what, guess what? She won! :) Congratulations Bridie and Craig! In this round the celebs picked their favourite dance of the series to repeat. Both picked Samba. IMO this was even better than the first time they did it so I am glad the judges rewarded it accordinging ... perfect 40! :) You had me foxed there for a minute or two Paul ....... :P

Bridie Carter - Dancing With the Stars - Week 2 Vote for Bridie! 1902 55 77 16 or SMS 'Bridie' to 19 19 77 She scored 29 points this week and finished equal 1st (also of course survived first elimination)! I have to agree with the judges. Bridie is the best by a country mile. Just loosen up and try not to take it so seriously!

Bridie Carter - Dancing With The Stars - Week 6 Vote for Bridie! 1902 55 77 16 or SMS 'Bridie' to 19 19 77 Waltz. Scored 33 points and finished 1st. Finally Helen woke up and smelt the 9's again .. only two weeks late Helen! :) Of course (combined with her =1st score 31 in Bollywood group) she survived elimination again. Bollywood Group number to follow lol .. you have to see this to believe it!

Bridie Gallagher - Cottage by the Lee Lyrics: 'Tis well I know that often folk keep wond'ring When in my eyes a far off look they see, What it can be the cause of all my dreaming, What is this dream so very dear to me? And, truth to tell, 'tis often I go roaming In dreams along the road of memory, To where my heart will find its consolation, Within the lovely cottage by the Lee, My home, sweet home that I so fondly cherish, The dear ones there mean ev'rything to me; In all this world, if there can be a heaven, I'm sure it's in that cottage by the Lee. 'Tis well I stand outside that cottage doorway, And gaze across the corn fields rich and gold, To hear the stream go rippling by the meadow, Or watch the shepherd calling to his fold. From down the lane that winds behind the garden, The blackbird greets the smiling summer morn, And as his music echoes o'er the valley, You smile and bless the day that you were born. Yes, that's my dream, my lovely dream of homeland, And though I thought a rover I could be, It's soon I found I left my heart behind me, Within that lovely cottage by the Lee.

Bridie Carter - "The Morning Show" - Appearance I was watching Sunrise for the first time in about 7 months and they mentioned that Bridie Carter would be on their late morning show "The Morning Show". Caught the short interview for people who are interested. Basically she was promoting her appearance on Dancing With The Stars. ... always dangerous when people start talking up favourites! ;) ... See Mark Beretta at the end, watch out for him. Worst dancer but definitely the hardest campaigner! :) People like him often end up knocking off "favourites" haha

Jacqui & Bridie's Folk Club On Sunday 23 January 2011 Jacqui & Bridie's Folk Club meets for a final, and very special, concert at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. Bridie Carter - Dancing With The Stars - Week 9 - Pt 1/3 Vote for Bridie! 1902 55 77 16 or SMS 'Bridie' to 19 19 77 FINAL NEXT WEEK!! Salsa. Scored 31 points and finished =2nd in this part of the night. I thought this was good, not their best but still good. What is up with Paul? Lowballing but much ... for weeks now. No more shocked looks at Mark (see when results are handed out) Paul for rewarding Bridie fairly. After Hobo's supremely ridiculous 10 in Disco, it truly is a case of the pot calling the kettle black ... not to mention your 9 for the Hobo Tango tonight when he fell over his feet more than once ... tut tut! :PI wonder who he will side with now his fave has departed! :P

Bridie Carter - Dancing With The Stars - Week 3 Vote for Bridie! 1902 55 77 16 or SMS 'Bridie' to 19 19 77 Foxtrot this week. Scored 30 points and finished 1st in a three way tie. Of course she survived elimination again. She looked much more relaxed this week. Pretty routine I thought.

Bridie Carter - Dancing With The Stars - Week 4 Vote for Bridie! 1902 55 77 16 or SMS 'Bridie' to 19 19 77 Paso Doble. Scored 35 points and finished =1st. Of course she survived elimination again. This is a great routine! :) It's quite funny watching this show because the longer the celebs are in it, the more they seem to want to win and want to do well. You could tell Bridie was pretty darn happy to see those 9's come up. Personally I was disappointed with Helen. I had her pegged for a McLeod's tragic and was sure Bridie would get at least straight 9's for this set! Come on Helen! :P Just have to add that Craig Monley is a great dancer! ... not that I am in any way qualified to make such a statement. He has been fabulous every week though. I think definitely one of the best professionals the show has ever had. (at least in the 2 and a bit seasons I have watched lol). I also need to add that I can't stand Daryl Sommers. Seriously this show would be so much better without his 1980's hosting style ....

Bridie Carter - Dancing With The Stars - Week 8 - Part 1 Vote for Bridie! 1902 55 77 16 or SMS 'Bridie' to 19 19 77 Tango. Scored 36 points and finished 2nd in this part of the night (personally thought she was somewhat screwed by going up first and the fact that Paul was tripping on Bindees ... or was that Hobson Haze lol .... all night long ... more on that later haha). Not much to say this time except this was all class and although the scores didn't reflect it, imo probably their best performance all season. Props to this pair for not resorting to trashy show numbers to avoid the actual dancing requirement of the show. The only pair left not doing this ....

Bridie Gallagher - Rose of Mooncoin Lyrics: Oh how sweet tis to roam by the Suirs lovely stream and to hear the birds coo neath the morning sunbeams where the thrush and the robin their sweet notes enjoin On the banks of the Suir that flows down by Mooncoin CHORUS Flow on lovely river, flow gently along by your waters so sweet sounds the larks merry song on your green banks Ill wander where first I did join with you lovely Molly, the Rose of Mooncoin Oh Molly dear Molly it breaks my fond heart to know that we two forever must part Ill think of you Molly while sun and moon shine on the banks of the Suir that flows down by Mooncoin CHORUS she has sailed far away ore the dark rolling foam far away from the banks of her dear Irish home where the fisherman sports with his small boat and line on the banks of the Suir that flows down by Mooncoin CHORUS then heres to the Suir with its valleys so fair as oft times we wandered in the cool morning air where the roses are blooming and the lillies entwine on the banks of the Suir that flows down by Mooncoin CHORUS

Bridie Carter - Dancing With The Stars - Finale - Round 1 No need to vote anymore. :) Guess what, guess what? She won! :) Congratulations Bridie and Craig! ChaCha ( is that right lol ). Bridie Carter - Dancing With The Stars - Week 5 Vote for Bridie! 1902 55 77 16 or SMS 'Bridie' to 19 19 77 Just a quick thanks to Bridie's European fans who have sent messages thanking me for posting these! You are more than welcome! :) I am just pleased you are enjoying seeing another side of her outside of McLeod's Daughters. Rumba. Scored 36 points and finished 1st. First 10 of the series!! :) Of course she survived elimination again. If I wasn't a huge Bridie Carter fan before, I definitely am now! I absolutely adore Eva Cassidy ... and this was a dedication to her! (RIP Eva - voice of an angel - shame they couldn't use her original track of this song). Beautiful routine. Helen needs to pull that 9 or 10 out soon! .... the rest of the show was truly a train wreck. In comparison Bridie deserved to receive 60 out of 40. Craig Monley is awesome!

David Bridie - Act of Free Choice Artist: David Bridie Title: Act of Free Choice Director: Mark Worth The so-called 'Act of Free Choice' was a sham referendum held in 1969 to decide whether Indonesia should govern West Papua. The small sample of indigenous West Papuans selected to vote were threatened with physical atrocities if they voted against the Indonesians. Of course they all voted unanimously for Indonesia. To this day, on the basis of this farce (sanctioned, incidentally, by the UN), Indonesia holds West Papua under military rule. This short film by the late Mark Worth (1958-2004) is a precursor to his outstanding documentary "Land of the Morning Star" and succinctly outlines the political history of West Papua to date. "Act of Free Choice" is the title of David Bridie's debut solo album, and although the song "Act of Free Choice" was played live at David's shows it was omitted from the album for "textural" reasons (in other words, it didn't fit in with the other tracks). It later appeared on the 5-track "Act of Free Choice" EP. Papua Merdeka! Bridie Carter - Dancing With The Stars - and the winner is.. Nuff said. Also includes Bridie's "journey" montage. I had to cut out Anh's journey clip to get this under 10 minutes ... but if there are Anh fans out there who want to see it, send me a message and I will add that seperately. That was just the easiest part for weary me to cut at this hour ....... :) Between Bridie, Nat and Kevin Australia got 2 out of 3 right. I'll let you decide which two :P

The Hills of Glenswilly | Bridie Gallagher Bridie Gallagher - Hills of Glenswilly Lyrics Attention pay, my countrymen, and hear my native news Although my song is sorrowful, I hope you'll me excuse I left my peaceful residence a foreign land to see And I bid farewell to Donegal, likewise to Glenswilly Some stalwart men around me stood, each comrade loyal and true And as I grasped each well-known hand to bid a last adieu I said, My fellow countrymen, I hope you'll soon be free To raise the flag more proudly o'er the hills of Glenswilly It is these cruel English laws, they curse our native isle Must Irishmen always live like slaves or else die in exile? There's not a man to strike a blow or to keep down tyranny Since Lord Leitrim like a dog was shot not far from Glenswilly No more beside the sycamore I'll hear the blackbird sing No more to meet the blithe cuckoo to welcome back the spring No more I'll plough your fertile fields, a chuisle geal mo chroídhe On foreign soil I'm doomed to toil far, far from Glenswilly God bless you, dark old Donegal, my own dear native land In dreams I've often seen your hills and your towering mountains grand But the last three thousand miles of life separates these hills from me I'm a poor forlorn exile cast far, far from Glenswilly I'm a poor forlorn exile cast far, far from Glenswilly

Bridie Gallagher - Boys of the County Armagh Bridie Gallagher with the song that she made popular, The Boys of the County Armagh. Lyrics: Theres one fair county in Ireland With memories so glorious and grand Where nature has lavished its bounty On the orchard of Erins green land I love its cathedral city Once founded by Patrick so true And there in the heart of its bosom Lie the ashes of Brian Boru Its my old Irish home Far across the foam Although I've often left it In foreign lands to roam No matter where I wander Through cities near and far My hearts at home in old Ireland In the county of Armagh I've travelled through parts of this county Through Newtown, Forkhill, Crossmaglen And round by the gap of Mountnorris And home by Blackwater again Where the girls are so gay and so hearty None fairer in Erin go Bragh And where are the boys that can court them The boys of the county Armagh Its my old Irish home Far across the foam Although I've often left it In foreign lands to roam No matter where I wander Through cities near and far My hearts at home in old Ireland In the county of Armagh

David Bridie - Canopy (from "Hotel Radio") Promo clip for "Canopy". Artist: David Bridie Album: Hotel Radio Produced by Nick Littlemore with David Bridie David Bridie is one of Australia's foremost composers for film and television, as well as a popular recording artist, both solo and with My Friend The Chocolate Cake. His career began with ambient/art band Not Drowning, Waving who were pioneers of the burgeoning World Music genre in the 1980s. They also appeared as support act on Peter Gabriel's 1994 Australian tour. David's two solo albums, "Act of Free Choice" (2000) and "Hotel Radio" (2003) both sold well in Australia. "Act of Free Choice" was a darker, broodier affair than much of his earlier work and garnered a good deal of attention in the UK. "Hotel Radio" was lighter in mood, strong on melody and message, and thoughtfully and intricately produced. David is currently putting the finishing touches to a new My Friend The Chocolate Cake album, titled "Home Improvements", scheduled for release in February 2007. His latest soundtrack is for the soon to be released Working Title feature "Gone". Rose of Tralee - Bridie Gallagher Lyrics: The pale moon was rising above the green mountain the sun was declining beneath the blue sea when I strayed with my love to the pure crystal fountain that stands in the beautiful vale of Tralee CHORUS she was lovely and fair as the rose of the summer but twas not her beauty alone that won me Oh no was the truth in her eyes ever dawning that made me love Mary, the Rose of Tralee The cool shades of evening their mantels were spreading and Mary all smiling was listening to me the moon thru the valley her pale rays were spreading when I won the heart of the Rose of Tralee CHORUS

Jacqui & Bridie - Back Buchanan Street Back Buchanan Street Written by Gordon & Harry Dison A fella from the Corpy just out of planning school Has told us that we've got to go right out of Liverpool They're sending us to Kirkby, to Skelmersdale and Speke But we want to stay where we used to play in Back Buchanan Street Don't want to go to Kirkby, don't want to go to Speke Don't want to go from all I know from all I know in Back Buchanan Street I'll miss the fog horns on the river and the old Pierhead (ooh yes!) And slipping up the jigger when we're rolling home to bed There's lots of other little things like putting out the cat Cos theres no back door on the four***th floor of a Unit-Camus flat Don't want to go to Kirkby, don't want to go to Speke Dont want to go from all I know in Back Buchanan Street I'll miss the pub around the corner with the parlour painted red Like I miss the Green Goddesses (the trams!) and the Overhead (railway!) From Walton to the Dingle you'll hear the same old cry Stop messin' round with Liverpool at least until we die Don't want to go to Kirkby, don't want to go to Speke Don't want to go from all I know in Back Buchanan Street And I'll miss the Mary Ellens (ladies with shawls!) Me Dad'll miss the Docks (where the boats come in!) Me Gran'll miss the washhouse where she washed me Grandad's socks They've pulled down Paddy's Market (and built it again!) where me Mam once had a stall And soon their picks and shovels will be through our back yard wall Don't want to go to Kirkby, don't ...

Bridie Gallagher - Lovely Inishowen Bridie Gallagher - Lovely Inishowen Lyrics: You've heard about Killarney and the castle of Dunloe, The hills of County Wicklow and the moonlight in Mayo, There's some would say that Galway Bay is where they long to be, But the lovely Inishowen is the only place for me. Chorus: From Carndonagh down to Malin town, Culdaff and Bonagee, Oh, the lovely Inishowen is the only place for me. From the peaceful shores of Swilly, to the waters of the Foyle, In the Valley of Glentogher, you may linger just a while. But the scene that haunts my memory, when I am far away, is a crimson sun descending down behind Trawbreaga Bay. Chorus Sure no matter where I wonder and wherever I may be, Even with the sights and the wonders I may see, I always will come back again to place I long to be, to the lovely Inishowen, it's the only place for me. Chorus Oh, the lovely Inishowen is the only place for me.

Noreen Bawn | Bridie Gallagher Bridie Gallagher, the Girl from Donegal - Noreen Bawn Lyrics There's a spot in old Tyrconnell There's a wee house in that glen Where there dwelt an Irish colleen Who charmed the hearts of men She was winsome, hale and hearty Fair and graceful as the dawn Neighbours loved the widow's daughter Happy smiling Noreen Bawn Then one day there came a letter With her passage paid to go To the place where the Missouri And the Mississippi flow So she said goodbye top Erin And next morning at the dawn That old mother broken hearted Bid farewell to Noreen Bawn Weary years that mother waited Till one evening at her door Stood a gorgeous looking lady Awful grand the clothes she wore Whispering, "Mother don't you know me? Now I've only got a cold" Yet those purple spots upon her cheeks The tragic story told There's a churchyard in Tyrconnell Where the blossoms sadly wave There's a sorrow stricken mother Weeping o'er that lonely grave "Poor Noreen" she is calling "Tis I'm lonesome since you're gone Twas the shame of emigration Laid you low my Noreen Bawn"
