Classic Game Room HD - BOWLING! for Magnavox Odyssey 2 Classic Game Room HD reviews Bowling for the Magnavox Odyssey 2 video game console. Also known as the Philips Videopac G7000 in Europe and other places, the O2 had some pretty cool games. This isn't one of them. In fact, this could be the worst "bowling" game ever created, if you can even call it bowling. Wii Sports Bowling this is not. Turn on your G-7000 and insert the enormous, handle bespeckled cartridge into the slot with a loud "CaCHunk!@" sound. Turn on the power and be greeted with minutes of entertainment from giant blocks that do little more than move about the screen in an illogical manner. Classic Game Room loves the classics, but even in 1980 or '79 or whatever year this came out this game sucked. It was fun to review though, because in between the awesome games like KC Munchkin, Bioshock and Assault Heroes we need to review some duds? How can you know if a game is really good if you can't compare it to a game that is awful beyond words. Well, here's one word - BOWLING! Strike... out! This is the gutter whore of the gutter ball, the rancid hot dog of the bowling alley, the smelly shoes from the rental stand. This is BOWLING! on the Magnavox Odyssey 2 video game system. We think we counted 50 at 7am, it must be time for the locals (and everyone) to start the day. What a beautiful morning. Although awakened early, we laid in bed for a while enjoying the view from our window and watching the square below begin to come to life. There were local delivery trucks bringing in the day's fresh fare, locals heading out to sea for a morning of fishing, and tourist beginning their day either waking up here in the morning, or arriving by boat or train for day tripping from elsewhere in Italy. We enjoyed breakfast with our view, then headed out to find a cup of coffee and get supplies for our day. Our plan today was to hike from Vernazza, our home base, south approximately 5 miles through three other cities; first Corniglia, then Manarola, and finishing in Riomaggiore, finally taking a ferry ride back to Vernazza. We began the trail between two buildings next to the farmacia (those were the directions) and headed up the steep canyon walls through winding stair cases up, up and up until the town was below us and the views just kept getting better.
