USA Bending guitar strings with excellent technique, style and accuracy involves work on three important areas: 1). Bend Types: There are two categories here; Standard Bends and Pre-Bends. Each category has sub-categories, such as, (but not limited to), sustain and release concepts. 2). Pitch Accuracy: Bending a note to a wrong note is still a wrong note. However, tweaking notes out of pitch for short durations, (as in; 1/4 or 3/4 increments), can yield very interesting effects. 3). Practice Exercises: In order to achieve great results with bending, players need to practice various bend styles as well as, pitch accuracy. With this 3-part series, I discuss a solution that substantially minimizes Kahler's bending and tuning problem. I first talked about the bending problem on my Kahler vs. Floyd Rose video series. With Kahlers common behavior, the player needs to dive with the tremolo bar to bring the string(s) back to pitch after a bend. There are ways to ineffectively cheat (or hide the problem), which I also discuss with this video series. My goal is to make Kahlers stay in tune with bends + dive bombs + pullups. My solution involves four steps 1. Decreasing the spring tension to tilt the cam forward 2. Bending the string windings by 75 degrees and applying a thick layer of solder 3. Using a Kahler model with a flat cam such as the latest 2300 4. Applying a bit of Chapstick between the strings and the cam I compared my setup and stringing procedures (and results) to the setup and stringing procedures suggested by Kahler. I also discuss various one-time steps to make Kahlers in tune. Topics involve locking nut, saddles, string risers, allen screws, roller lubrication, spring setup, Hybrid vs. 2300, etc.

Celebrated as the undetectable murder weapon in the plots of 1930s detective novels, they certainly represent an all too real hazard for deep sea divers and astronauts. There are, however, a rapidly growing number of biomedical applications in which bubbles can offer significant benefits. In this talk Eleanor Stride will describe how bubbles have transformed the state of the art in ultrasound imaging and are emerging as powerful therapeutic tools in treatments for major diseases including stroke and cancer.

Radiohead, in the "Live at the Astoria" concert on 27 May 1994, notable mainly for its collection of songs that would not appear until the release of THE BENDS, ten months later. It is also Radiohead's only concert home video/DVD to date. This dvd captures Radiohead playing an absolutely amazing gig. The quality of the performance is remarkable - Thom Yorke's soaring voice, Jonny Greenwood's frantic yet precise lead guitar, Ed O'Brien's haunting atmospheric sound.
