Shifters and Mates; Jemi Ch. 23 "Mhmm. It smells amazing Aunt Dani." "Oh why thank you, sweetheart. I'm happy someone acknowledges my hard work," she said, sending her husband and sons pointed looks, but none of them noticed, their eyes were filled with lust for food. "I appreciate your cooking mom." Joe said, beaming at his mother beguilingly. Danielle smiled at her son and patted his cheek gently. "Oh Joe. You're such a charmer." She gave him a flat look. "But don't try kissing up. My answer is still no. Demi can't move into your room with you." Joe scowled and sighed, his shoulders slumping in defeat. I laughed. Wait.. what? "Wait what?!" I repeated out loud. Aunt Dani grinned at me and winked, leaving my question floating in the air, unanswered. I gently nudged Joe's foot with my own. "What is your mom talking about?" Joe shrugged, a smirk curved on his soft lips. My eyes narrowed at him suspiciously but I let it go. I'll just have to ask him later. Dani took her seat and smiled at us all, her eyes twinkling with happiness. "Guys," she called. Everyone's gazed directed towards her. Aunt Dani looked at me. "This year, Thanksgiving is extra special. It's our first Thanksgiving with a new member to the Jonas family, not only as a daughter," she glanced at Joe, "but as a symbol of happiness for my sons, especially one in particular." I smiled at Joe. "I'm so happy you're Joe's mate. I was so scared it was going to be Taylor for a moment." Danielle laughed. Mostly everyone laughed except Joe whose lips ...

Miss Firecracker - Trailer Academy Award Nominee Holly Hunter is sensational as Carnelle Scott, a catfish-factory worker from Mississippi whose rep as the town slut can't stop her dream to win the local Miss Firecracker Beauty Pageant. Orphaned at eight, she was raised with her two spoiled first cousins. The well-mannered Elaine--a beguilingly ***y Mary S***burgen--is a former Miss Firecracker who would rather not see her scraggly cousin succeed. Cousin Delmount (Academy Award Winner Tim Robbins) has just been sprung from an asylum, and he's eager to sell the decrepit family mansion Carnelle still calls home. Delmount treats the local belles like dogs, but succumbs to a salt-of-the-earth seamstress named Popeye (Alfre Woodard) who claims, "He makes my heart hot." Author Beth Henley's antic humor carries the day for her characters; lively loons who laugh to keep from toppling into the abyss. MPAA Rating: PG Cast: Holly Hunter, Tim Robbins, Scott Glenn, Mary S***burgen, Alfre Woodard

FLOATING WEEDS (Masters of Cinema) Original Theatrical Trailer "A thoroughly absorbing affair" -- Total Film "Ozu's familiar combination of melancholy regret and buoyant comic gaiety is beguilingly in evidence." -- Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian "A poignant tale of everyday folk; their lives, loves and losses, rendered with exquisite care, compassion and no small measure of humanity by one of the masters of Japanese cinema." -- Film 4 "Floating Weeds'' (1959) is like a familiar piece of music that I can turn to for reassurance and consolation. It is so atmospheric--so evocative of a quiet fishing village during a hot and muggy summer--that it envelops me." - Roger Ebert Towards the end of his career, Japanese master Yasujirō Ozu (Tokyo Story; Late Spring; Early Summer; An Autumn Afternoon; Good Morning) returned to a story he had made some 25 years earlier as a silent, Ukigusa monogatari [A Story of Floating Weeds], for a magnificent colour reworking, photographed by legendary cinematographer Kazuo Miyagawa (Rashomon, Ugetsu monogatari). When a travelling theatre troupe brings their show to a seaside port, Komajurō (Ganjirō Nakamura), an ageing actor, is reunited with his former lover, sake bar owner Oyoshi (Haruko Sugimura), and his illegitimate son Kiyoshi (Hiroshi Kawaguchi), to the distress of his current mistress Sumiko (Machiko Kyō). From this simple scenario, Ozu builds, one exquisite image at a time, a saga of profound humanity and rich understanding. Encompassing a novelistic range of emotions and tones with the utmost ...

TIM CHAISSON & MORNING FOLD - PART II PRESENTED BY NOEL COPEMAN BALCONYTV TORONTO IS BROUGHT TO YOU IN ASSOCIATION WITH INDIE WEEK AND THE UNDERGROUND GARAGE http The first half of the bio can be found at or in the description section of Tim Chaisson - Part 1 on BalconyTV! Chaisson needn't be so humble. With Broken Hearted Beat, Petty and Springs*** would be proud to keep such company. A tour-de-force in amalgamating diverse backgrounds and genres, the album unites the finite intricacies of folk, pop, country and even the Celtic inspiration that initially spurred Chaisson on in his youth; it is a wonderfully diverse beguilingly chameleon-esque experience. While much of the album is spawned from his own seeds of creativity as primary songwriter, Chaisson notes that renowned Canadian-bred musicians Joel Plaskett (Thrush Hermit, Joel Plaskett Emergency) and Gordie Johnson (Big Sugar) were crucial in realizing Broken Hearted Beat's wide scope and boldness. Co-penning material as a team and utilizing Johnson's invaluable experience as a musician and producer for Broken Hearted Beat, Chaisson, Johnson and crew captured the live essence of the band at Plaskett's studio before heading down to Willie Nelson's Austin-based Pedernales Studios in order apply finishing touches. "Gordie and I started working together a few years ago and he introduced me to Joel," Chaisson reflects. "We wrote about nine songs together almost immediately. I was a huge fan of both of them before any of ...

Karol Szymanowski - Violin Concerto No. 2, Op. 61 (Konstanty Kulka, violin) Karol Maciej Szymanowski (Tymoszówka, Ukraine, 3 October 1882 - 28 March 1937) Violin Concerto No. 2, Op. 61 (1932-33) Konstanty Kulka, violin and the National Symphony Orchestra of the Polish RTV conducted by Jerzy Maksymiuk Sketched over August 1932 at the insistence of his friend, violinist Pawel Kochanski -- who provided (as he had for the Violin Concerto No. 1) the cadenza -- Szymanowski could not begin the orchestration until March, completing the full score on September 6, 1933. Weak from tuberculosis, Szymanowski was easily exhausted, and this was his last large-scale work. No less cunning than the Violin Concerto No. 1 in terms of motivic unity and continuous development, the work opens with a berceuse-like exposition of several melodic oddments evoking a sort of primal ethnic nostalgia, gyrating slowly, hypnotically within the interval of a third and alternating beguilingly between major and minor. A second, more animated thematic group enacts a plein air dance and march leading to an extensive cadenza ranging histrionically but brilliantly over both moods while marking the work's mid-point. The opening themes, combined with more adventurous melodic material traversing a tenth, amplify the play of dreaming wakened by raucous celebration, becoming grander and more eldritch by turns, led by bursts of something like dissonantly rustic fiddling to a high-kicking apotheosis. TEDxWWF - Tim 'Mac' Macartney - A Line In The Sand About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations) Drawing on profound and challenging experiences gained when mentored and trained by a group of metis Native Americans, Mac uses story and powerful imagery to awaken and evoke our innate wild nature. Speaking to a deeper, more ancient part of our tribal memory, he braids beauty, wildness, and the 'heathen' pulse of the human spirit into a single narrative. It is a call, a paean, a heart-song, to the many millions of us who still stand on the sidelines and passively watch as our planet is slowly, systematically, and meticulously tamed, caged, and broken. Clever, we undoubtedly are, but wise we are not. Not yet. Mac will ask us some beguilingly simple questions and offer an invitation. An invitation which, if accepted, will take us into unknown territory, to the edge of our courage, and perhaps, one step closer to the world of our longing.

The General Marshall Story ARC Identifier 2569675 / Local Identifier 111-TV-408. The story of General George C. Marshall, told on Army's "THE BIG PICTURE" -- This is a personal history film of General George C. Marshall who resigned from the Defense Department and settled in Leesburg, Virginia, in 1951. It is a pictorial record of his role as a public servant, spanning a critical half century, which ultimately placed him in the ranks of great American patriots. It is rare in history when a man who has distinguished his name in war goes on to greatness in peace. But for George Catlett Marshall it was a short step from a brilliant military career to his role as statesman, diplomat, and peacemaker winner of the Nobel Prize for Peace. Narrated by Walter Cronkite, and introduced by Master Sergeant Stuart Queen, "The General Marshall Story" will appeal to old and young for it has been skillfully written and produced. It approaches General Marshall's life story from an objective viewpoint with a beguilingly fresh format, used on THE BIG PICTURE this past season in relating the General Bradley story. The same excellence that applied in the Bradley story has been carried into "The General Marshall Story." Visually, and as a professional motion picture exploration for television into the lives of five-star Army generals, THE BIG PICTURE production staff has created a new list of subjects for forthcoming episodes in the weekly TV series. Department of Defense. Department of the Army. Office of the Deputy ...

Julian Jacobson and Orchestra Platform Seven - Mozart Piano Concerto in G Major K 453 Julian Jacobson performing Mozart Piano Concerto in G Major K 453 with Orchestra Platform Seven at St James' Church Piccadilly London. Review: "...Similarly K453 was a tonic. Some beguilingly elegant oboe contributions along with the clean sounds of the strings made this a pleasure to hear against Jacobson's refined playing. The slow movement had an affecting stridency in places, and the finale, sprightly and flowing, unafraid of fleeting darkness, revealed both grandeur and humour, with deft touches from the soloist." - Julian Jacobson has performed in more than 40 countries and five continents. As a conductor he has worked with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, RTE Orchestra of Dublin and European Union Youth Orchestra, and conducted five of his own film scores. Orchestra Platform Seven is a hand-picked ensemble of recent graduates and advanced students mainly from the Royal College of Music, where Julian Jacobson is a Professor of Piano and Chamber Music.

beguilingly beautiful bruges... part 2: taking a ride on a horse drawn carriage we are lucky to have a very entertaining coach driver. you could hear us chuckle and laugh on this 45 minute ride around the city's cobblestone streets. we had so much fun on this short city trip. this is the equivalent of a hop-on hop-off tour in other big cities. ate cory even commented how pleasant it is to hear the clattering sound of the horse's hooves on the streets of the city. this unique experience adds to the charm of the city of bruges. this is one of the happiest moments i had while i am accompanying ate cory and nikki on their european tour 2012 (i wrote down the year because i know that there would be more european tours ahead). we were laughing very hard after the coach driver asked us the question, "do you know why it's so hot in hell?" to which i asked back, "why is it?" and then the witty reply we didn't expect to hear, "because all the bad girls are there. good girls go to heaven... bad girls go everywhere." parang belgian version ng pinoy pick-up lines lang. haha! the entrance/gate to the UNESCO world heritage site of the begijnhof (beguinage) can be seen starting from 8:07 and the minnewater (lake of love) with lots of swans near the bank.

John Cage - Daughters of the Lonesome Isle Daughters of the Lonesome Isle, for prepared piano solo (1945) Boris Berman, piano Before Cage embarked on his great lifelong experiment with indeterminancy in music—a historic exploration in which he sought to create music through chance events rather than predetermining it through artistry and/or craft—he had already gained a reputation as a radical because of his creation and use of the prepared piano. This is a piano that has been set up before the concert with various devices attached to specific strings: nuts, bolts, wires, and the like that might dampen or alter the pitch or tone produced, which is unlikely to be the one normally associated with each key. The result is radical in effect but seems to have emerged from a practical problem: Cage had been engaged to provide music for modern dance and wanted to make percussion and rhythmic effects without engaging lots of percussion players and instruments. In effect, then, a "prepared piano" is really just a box of percussion sounds. These sounds are not chancy at all: In his prepared piano pieces Cage meticulously prescribes just what piece of hardware goes where in the piano. Now, the key question: How does all this sound? Actually, the music is usually beguilingly exotic and pleasant to listen to. Daughters of the Lonesome Isle is a ten-minute, 1945 composition written for dancer Jean Erdman, and is one of the best and most famous of this entire genre of Cage's music. (His efforts reached their compositional zenith ...

9/11: The No-Plane Chronicles (2/7) I've said elsewhere that 9/11 was a Psy-Op. I've already said the so-called "9/11 Truth Movement" was pre-planned, and the various "Truth Heroes" were pre-ordained as a part of the planning. I've said that for the simple reason it is obvious. If you want to create The Perfect Crime, then you cannot afford to leave clues. But you will always leave clues, because The Perfect Crime does not, and cannot, exist. So it is absolutely essential to have a means of directing every critical thinker away from the real clues, by substituting pseudo-clues. The pseudo-clues are what so-called "Truthers" follow, and hold dear to their hearts. Consequently all the various prominent "Truth Heroes" are actually "UNTruth Heroes", promulgating (in unison) the pre-ordained pseudo-clues. The so-called "9/11 Truth Movement" is, in actuality, a "9/11 UNTruth Movement". What is also pretty obvious is that "No-Planes", the real truth (being very, very deep) was not planned for. It was not expected that this depth of research would be undertaken. It was expected that the plausibility of the "UNTruth Heroes" would be sufficient to quell any fluttering hearts. And, to a large extent, the perpetrators were correct in their assumptions. The position of these "UNTruth Heroes" is readily dismissible by the media in all its various forms (articles, videos, etc). Let alone any court of law. In practice, a "Truther" can see that "something is wrong with 9/11". So they look around on the Internet. And find ...

WITOLD LUTOSLAWSKI: "Grave" for Cello and Piano (also known as "Metamorphoses for Cello and Piano") Caroline Stinson, cello Molly Morkoski, piano from Albany TROY1281 Caroline Stinson offers beguiling performances of this imaginative program. Lines, the title of this imaginative program, beguilingly performed, links pupils to teachers in three principal strands Bloch-Sessions-Harbison; Lutoslawski-Stucky-Waggoner and Weesner; and Boulanger-Carter. While it is difficult to overestimate the influence of a powerful mentor, not all mentor relationships develop in formal arrangements. Carter was deeply influenced by Sessions, and was close with him, without having enrolled as his student. Both Waggoner and Weesner forged close relationships with Harbison, and in different works reveal Harbison's influence as much as Stucky's. While in his early works Harbison often exhibited Sessions' influence, his baroque sensibilities have more in common with the neoclassical predispositions of Bloch, his "grand-teacher." The criss-crossing of the lines hints at the wealth and variety of music influence and tradition. Acclaimed cellist Caroline Stinson offers magnificent performances of this repertoire. Noted for her vibrant lyricism and fresh interpretations, Ms. Stinson is on the faculty at Syracuse University and The Juilliard School. Contents: Ernest Bloch, composer Suite No. 3 for violoncello solo Caroline Stinson, cello Roger Sessions, composer Six Pieces for Violoncello Caroline Stinson, cello John Harbison ...

Early Autumn Meditation on an English Forest Going a bit abstract and hippy here but nothing beats British woodland at this time of year. The Autumnal colours are emerging, the winds bring life and movement and the light is beguilingly defused. This short clip was taken in a forest on the South Downs, an hour or so from central London. The trees are mainly Beech (I think) and you can hear the Beech nuts falling as the strong breeze shakes them loose.

RICHARD DAWSON DIES AT 79-DIAMOND RIO-I BELIEVE-WEB-.wmv NEW YORK — Richard Dawson, the wisecracking British entertainer who was among the schemers in the 1960s sitcom "Hogan's Heroes" and a decade later began kissing thousands of female contestants as host of the game show "Family Feud" has died. He was 79. Dawson, also known to TV fans as the ***ney POW Cpl. Peter Newkirk on "Hogan's Heroes," died Saturday night from complications related to esophageal cancer at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, his son Gary said. The game show, which initially ran from 1976 to 1985, pitted families who tried to guess the most popular answers to poll questions such as "What do people give up when they go on a diet?" Dawson won a daytime Emmy Award in 1978 as best game show host. Tom Shales of The Washington Post called him "the fastest, brightest and most beguilingly caustic interlocutor since the late great Groucho bantered and parried on `You Be Your Life.'" The show was so popular it was released as both daytime and syndicated evening versions.

In short, they were a knife industry success story. There was just one downside. In the early 1990's, United States Customs outlawed the importation of all butterfly knives under, what can only be assumed to be, an arbitrary and unreasonable interpretation of the Switchblade Act. Many US states soon followed suit including our home state of California, where mere possession of a Butterfly knife is a FELONY. This policy has severely curtailed the availability of these awesome tactical folders. Now Cold Steel is proud to introduce a completely legal version of the butterfly knife that we call The Paradox™. It's designed from the ground up to specifically mimic a traditional Balisong or Butterfly knife in every respect but one -- it can't be opened with one hand! That's right, the Paradox ™ is not a switchblade, gravity knife, or ...
