Coda by Margueritte: not to dig in for history not to dig in for history the world, a concrescent crucifixion sadly scattered, pod-like; now a hole in the rib cage to breathe through; it is to this hole I journey; peering into blackness pure; free of holiness; free in the absence of the thing called God so often belched across penitent tongues; a breath of the air-borne virus; a gasping suck; free too of the augur of hags and harridans; of the augur of the ogre wrapt in his own image. I am not negative space and never beggared; I'm paid my own way and paved a path with the spade of my choice; the weight of the *** shibboleth is sometimes; more; sometimes; weep if you must; my pillow is dry; my dream b***; just look into my brain once; it is all that I ask; for one to see my brain as other; then I can sleep. 12/29/91

India vs England [Drawn] WC 2011 ~ 27 Feb # 2011 - Highlights & Post match Discussion On an evening that simply beggared belief, England tied with India in an incredible finale in Bangalore. Andrew Strauss was England's inspiration, producing an extraordinary 158 from 145 balls, the highest score by an English batsman in World Cup history, as England threatened the unthinkable, and set off in full pursuit of India's seemingly unobtainable total of 338 - a score that had been made possible by a brilliant 120 from Sachin Tendulkar. Such was the clarity of Strauss's strokeplay and the passivity of India's attack, at 280 for 2 in the 43rd over, England were cruising towards an extraordinary triumph. However a late intervention, sparked by a reverse-swinging Zaheer Khan, left them clawing for breath as a silenced Chinnaswamy stadium rediscovered its roar, and when the requirement shot up to two runs a ball, there seemed no way back into the contest. However, a ballsy volley of sixes from England's lower order hauled them back from the brink, and with two runs needed from the final delivery of the match, Graeme Swann drilled Munaf Patel to cover to salvage a share of the spoils. The breathless finale was entirely in keeping with a contest that twisted and turned like an insomniac in a mosquito-pit. From the first over of the match, in which Virender Sehwag might have been dismissed three times in five balls, through the sumptuous strokeplay of first Tendulkar and later Strauss, and on through a pair of batting collapses - one apiece for the lower order of both ...

Prof. Joshi emphasized that most of us consider that the purpose of education is to equip us to get better jobs, which provides us wealth and good living. Our education does not prepare a student for dealing with life, merely prepares him for a job. Our education does not teach us how to examine goals we set in life, how to sort our conflicts, how to deal with relationships with family and friends. Todays children do not have opportunity to learn about value system from grand parents. There is no guidance from any quarter about meaning of life, importance of spirituality, simplicity and modesty. Because we ignore human values in our educational system we are witnessing rise of crime, erosion of social discipline and atomization of family. The evil of corruption has permeated all sections of our society. Our education should shape our students to become honest, self confident and responsible citizens. Fernando Pessoa - sonnet n.5 How can I think, or edge my thoughts to action, When the miserly press of each day's need Aches to a narrowness of spilled distraction My soul appalled at the world's work's time-greed? How can I pause my thoughts upon the task My soul was born to think that it must do When every moment has a thought to ask To fit the immediate craving of its cue? The coin I'd heap for marrying my Muse And build our home i'th' greater Time-to-be Becomes dissolved by needs of each day's use And I feel beggared of infinity, Like a true-Christian sinner, each day flesh-driven By his own act to forfeit his wished heaven.

A prodigal son.wmv Canción con letra de la poetisa inglesa romántica Cristina Rossetti, hermana de Dante Rossetti y demás. Grabada con mucho ánimo y una pandereta. Pero sin cables. En cierto sentido, es unplugged. A PRODIGAL SON Does that lamp still burn in my Father's house, Which he kindled the night I went away? I turned once beneath the cedar boughs, And marked it gleam with a golden ray; Did he think to light me home some day? Hungry here with the crunching swine, Hungry harvest have I to reap; In a dream I count my Father's kine, I hear the tinkling bells of his sheep, I watch his lambs that browse and leap. There is plenty of bread at home, His servants have bread enough and to spare; The purple wine-fat froths with foam, Oil and spices make sweet the air, While I perish hungry and bare. Rich and blessed those servants, rather Than I who see not my Father's face! I will arise and go to my Father:— "Fallen from sonship, beggared of grace, Grant me, Father, a servant's place." -- Christina Rossetti

The Wrecking Crew by Thomas Frank--Audiobook Excerpt Listen to this audiobook excerpt from Thomas Frank's book The Wrecking Crew: How Conservatives Ruined Government, Enriched Themselves, and Beggared the Nation. The Wrecking Crew supplies the first and—lacking future fact-finding commissions—probably the only full reckoning of what conservatism has wrought. Casting back to the early days of the conservative revolution, Frank describes the rise of a ruling coalition dedicated to dismantling government. But rather than cutting down the big government they claim to hate, conservatives have simply sold it off, deregulating some industries, defunding others, but always turning public policy into a private-sector bidding war. Washington itself has been remade into a golden landscape of super-wealthy suburbs and gleaming lobbyist headquarters. And though arch-lobbyist Jack Abramoff has crashed and burned, the government-by-entrepreneurship he pioneered so outrageously has become the law of the land. Jimmy Savile: Report Reveals Full Scale Of *** Abuse Police have revealed the "vast" extent of ***ual abuse by Jimmy Savile - saying his crimes spanning more than 50 years were probably unprecedented in the UK. The late TV presenter's alleged victims included 28 children aged under 10, including 10 boys aged as young as eight. A further 63 were girls aged between 13 and 16 and nearly three quarters of his victims were under 18. Some 214 criminal offences have been recorded across 28 police forces and 34 rapes have been reported. Presenting a joint report by Scotland Yard and the NSPCC, Detective Superintendent David Gray said: "The sheer scale and the severity of his offending is appalling." Savile must have thought about his abuse "every minute of every waking day", he added. Police said the attacks took place over 54 years - the earliest in Manchester in 1955 - and in 14 locations, including hospitals and a hospice, where he was accused of ***ually touching a patient aged between 13 and 16. Allegations against him include 14 offences relating to schools across the country, partly when children had written to him for his Jim'll Fix It programme. The report said he used his celebrity status to control victims and "hide in plain sight" Claims of his abuse peaked between 1966 and 1976 when he was aged between 40 and 50. The offences cover the period when Savile worked at the BBC between 1965 and 2006 and include allegations linked to the final recording of Top Of The Pops. Some 450 people came forward to police about Savile ...

Christina Rossetti The Heart Knoweth Its Own Bitterness" Poem animation Heres a virtual movie of the great Christina Rossetti reading her very powerful bittersweet confessional poem "The Heart Knoweth Its Own Bitterness". Written in 1857. Christina Georgina Rossetti (5 December 1830 29 December 1894) was an English poet who wrote a variety of romantic, devotional, and children's poems. She is best known for her long poem Goblin Market, her love poem "Remember", and for the words of what became the popular Christmas carol "In the Bleak Midwinter". Rossetti was born in London and educated at home by her mother. Her siblings were the artist and poet Dante Gabriel Rossetti, William Michael Rossetti, and Maria Francesca Rossetti. Their father, Gabriele Rossetti, was an Italian poet and a political asylum seeker from Naples; their mother, Frances Polidori, was the sister of Lord Byron's friend and physician, John William Polidori, author of The Vampyre. Zambia fondly remembers its late President Mwanawsa Mr. Mwanawasa, who died this week in France, deserves to be remembered more fondly than the showmen who have beggared much of the African continent. He made serious efforts to cleanse Zambia's pervasive corruption. Because of his anti corruption drive capital poured in. Zambia's mineral-rich economy, soared and crashed according to the vagaries of world commodity prices, but its recent growth, at 6% or so a year, driven by copper exports should be attributed to decent policies that kept inflation low and helped spread benefits to the poor. The economy benefited by tourists and white farmers who diverted from Zimbabwe. Liberalization and Mr .Mwanawasa stolid efforts got unusually large dollops of aid and debt relief as well. Though not an oil-producer, Zambia is one of Africa's biggest recipients of Chinese investment, as the resource-hungry Asian giant pours capital into mining and agriculture. Mwanawasa, was also a rare voice among Africa's leaders who damned Mr. Mugabe's misrule and demanded a change of course. Seven years of Mr. Mwanawasa's rule has seen some change for better in Zambia.

GENE Profile Ep77pt1 KASR VIDEO Gene were an British Indie quartet who rose to prominence in the mid-1990s. Formed in 1993, they were popularly labelled as a Britpop band and often drew comparisons to The Smiths, because of their Morrissey-esque lead singer, Martin Rossiter. Gene's music was also influenced by The Jam, The Small Faces, Style Council, and The Clash. Gene's origins lie in a previous band first called "The Go Hole", named after a fictional 'Beat' club in John Clennam Holmes' novel Go, and later renamed "Sp!n." Vocalist/rhythm guitarist and songwriter Lee Clark, bassist John Mason, lead guitarist Steve Mason, and drummer Matt James were original members. The band was initially formed by Lee Clark (vocals/guitar) and Daz Walton (bass). Then John Mason took over playing bass and Matt joined on drums. A few years later, Lee, John and Matt recruited Steve Mason (John's younger brother) to play lead/rhythm guitar and free Lee's vocal style, which was limited by his mediocre guitar playing. After cutting their teeth for several years in Woolwich, London, Sp!n became a promising Stone Roses-like band who were sadly the victims of a serious road accident. Bassist John Mason suffered a serious head injury and went into an 11-day coma. Their road manager Daz Walton retired as a result of the crash. In a strange sequence of events, the day prior to the accident, Lee (the original vocalist, and main songwriter of Sp!n) had also offered his resignation in a letter to the rest of the band, due to his ...

Trees And The Menace Of Night by William Ernest Henley Trees and the menace of night; Then a long, lonely, leaden mere Backed by a desolate fell, As by a spectral battlement; and then, Low-brooding, interpenetrating all, A vast, gray, listless, inexpressive sky, So beggared, so incredibly bereft Of starlight and the song of racing worlds, It might have bellied down upon the Void Where as in terror Light was beginning to be. Hist! In the trees fulfilled of night (Night and the wretchedness of the sky) Is it the hurry of the rain? Or the noise of a drive of the Dead, Streaming before the irresistible Will Through the strange dusk of this, the Debateable Land Between their place and ours? Like the forgetfulness Of the work-a-day world made visible, A mist falls from the melancholy sky. A messenger from some lost and loving soul, Hopeless, far wandered, dazed Here in the provinces of life, A great white moth fades miserably past. Thro' the trees in the strange dead night, Under the vast dead sky, Forgetting and forgot, a drift of Dead Sets to the mystic mere, the phantom fell, And the unimagined vastitudes beyond.

Oil & The Elite - Oil Shortage Hoax Minister Lindsey Williams talked about the 'Energy Non-Crisis,' sharing suppressed knowledge that there is no oil shortage, which he said he initially learned while working as a chaplain to Alaskan oil pipeline workers. Obama's recent decision to allow offshore oil drilling suggests that "he was told to do so," by the elite, who also plan to devalue the American currency, Williams offered. Some Background There was a staggeringly important article on the front page of the Wall Street Journal. Briefly, it said that the immense run up in oil prices in 2008, from roughly $33 a barrel to roughly $150 per barrel was not caused by an oil shortage, was not caused by an immense upsurge in demand from China and India and Brazil, not caused by bandits in Nigeria. This finding was from President Obama's Commodity Futures Trading Commission, hardly a mouthpiece of Big Oil. The staggering 2008 run up in price, which beggared hundreds of millions of people throughout the world, was caused by the sinister machinations of a few dozen oil traders and speculators in the commodity pits and lush offices of hedge funds and investment banks. (Think Goldman, Sachs at its worst.) The shortage, which terrified innocent people and literally killed the US automotive industry, made a few dozen or maybe a few hundred people very rich. It also made the nation believe we actually faced a major oil shortage. (I was briefly taken in before I realized that nothing in the supply demand situation had ...

The Last Hero, GK Chesterton The wind blew out from Bergen from the dawning to the day, There was a wreck of trees and fall of towers a score of miles away, And drifted like a livid leaf I go before its tide, Spewed out of house and stable, beggared of flag and bride. The heavens are bowed about my head, shouting like seraph wars, With rains that might put out the sun and clean the sky of stars, Rains like the fall of ruined seas from secret worlds above, The roaring of the rains of God none but the lonely love. Feast in my hall, O foemen, and eat and drink and drain, You never loved the sun in heaven as I have loved the rain. The chance of battle changes—so may all battle be; I stole my lady bride from them, they stole her back from me. I rent her from her red-roofed hall, I rode and saw arise, More lovely than the living flowers the hatred in her eyes. She never loved me, never bent, never was less divine; The sunset never loved me, the wind was never mine. Was it all nothing that she stood imperial in duresse? Silence itself made softer with the sweeping of her dress. O you who drain the cup of life, O you who wear the crown, You never loved a woman's smile as I have loved her frown. The wind blew out from Bergen to the dawning of the day, They ride and run with fifty spears to break and bar my way, I shall not die alone, alone, but kin to all the powers, As merry as the ancient sun and fighting like the flowers. How white their steel, how bright their eyes! I love each laughing knave, Cry high ...

The Company Men Here we have Ben Affleck, who plays Bobby Walker, a corporate executive who loses his job, as do others, including Tommy Lee Jones. But the movie doesn't connect with you. You don't really feel their pain. If you're the breadwinner and you're laid off, you lose your job, it's awful. You lose your self-confidence. You blame yourself. It becomes difficult to maintain your role in the family itself. And all of that is a major, major story. The country's been beggared. Many of the people responsible for the situation we're in have not been punished. And at the very least, we need a movie to lay it all out. This ain't that movie. Let's Get Drunk! The Heretic presents: A short poem of divine origins: Let's Get Drunk! There is a Water that flows down from Heaven To cleanse the world of sin by grace Divine. At last, its whole stock spent, its virtue gone. Dark with pollution not its own, it speeds Back to the Fountain of all purities; Whence, freshly bathed, earthward it sweeps again, Trailing a robe of glory bright and pure. This Water is the Spirit of the Saints, Which ever sheds, until itself is beggared, God's balm on the sick soul; and then returns To Him who made the purest light of Heaven, The finest Champagne of the soul, to make you drunk, on the divine.
