1940 American Bantam pickup project The serial number on the motor is 65000 (they started the numbers at 60001) so it was made in 1940, which was the last year of production. This engine has a whopping 22 HP which is actyually more than all the earlier Bantams..They only made the "American Bantam" 3 years...1938-39 and 1940. There was suspossedly only 260 pickups built in those 3 years, and probably only about 5 per cent survived.. Most of the Bantams you see are the roadsters and the coupes and sedans.. I'm sure the engine has been rebuilt, as I found in the paper work, receipts for all the gaskets, and engine parts, rebuilt starter, etc. . The first guy got very ill, and had to quit working on it, so it has been in storage for several years. . The clutch is stuck, but I should be able to free it up with no problem. That "Bantam Sales and Service" is WAY more rare than the actual truck, and is in minty condition with the original hanger. Buck Bantam BHW: Field Utility Favorite The light weight Buck Bantam BHW folding knife is excellent in role. The question is, what is the role of this somewhat large, non spring assisted blade? With a 3 5/8" 420 HC stainless steel blade, thermoplastic handle, mid-lockback, a nice lanyard hole, and some fair jimping on top and bottom, this knife has it's limits, but also plenty of strengths. After a period of every day carry, I chose to place this knife into a "field utility" role. I now use it for hiking, camping, shooting excursions, and other outdoor activities where a pricier EDC blade might be in jeopardy of getting lost or damaged. I highly recommend the Buck Bantam BHW for use in this role, and I'm certain that if you put it in the same role it will serve you well. I forgot to mention that it also makes a great ice breaker when closed, and I don't mean a conversation piece. Wrap your thumb over the top and you can quickly smash up a bag of ice with the base of the handle; the other party goers will thank you for your foresight! With such a low price, and so many uses, why not pick one up?

Bantam Rooster - "You're the Sun" This is from the "F*ck All Ya'll" LP Bantam Rooster was an American garage punk band, formed in 1994 in Lansing, Michigan and disbanded in 2003. Over the years, Bantam Rooster comprised Thomas vocalist and guitarist Jackson Potter (Tom Potter), bassist Eric Cook, and drummers Mike Alonso (ex-Dirtys) and Nick Lloyd (ex-Buzzards). Known for their hillbilly-influenced garage punk sound, the duo fluctuated between the all-out rock of 'Dumb it Down' to the more melodic & lyrical stylings of 'Perceptive ***star'. Jim Diamond, the music producer and one-time member of The Dirtbombs along with Potter, has been dubbed as the '3rd Rooster', appearing occasionally live and producing. The group were first signed to Crypt Records in 1996, releasing 'Deal Me In' (1997) and 'Cross and the Switchblade' (1999) to critical acclaim. In 2000, they moved to the revered Sympathy for the Record Industry imprint for the release of 'F*ck All Y'All', and received further exposure through their similar approach to their then label-mates, The White Stripes. Bantam Rooster disbanded in 2003 as Potter formed the funk rock band Detroit City Council. Potter also did time in the Dirtbombs, appearing on their albums "Ultraglide In Black" and "Dangerous Magickal Noise". He was also in a Bob Seger tribute band called the Seger Liberation Army. Bantam Rooster was mentioned (and Potter as an unnamed character) in Elmore Leonard's novel Mr. Paradise.

Bantam Pilot Car Watch a perfectly authentic re-creation of the original Bantam Reconnaissance Car Pilot (the world's first jeep) go on-road and off in a demonstration by builder Duncan Rolls. The Pilot Re-creation required over 3500 hours of work to build. The drive components are original Bantam and Continental parts, as are the gauge cluster and other parts (a total of 60 per cent of the vehicle). Duncan made the chassis and body completely by hand. The only original sheet metal was a stock Bantam cowl, but even that had to be widened by six inches, just like the original was. The original Pilot, delivered to the Army at Camp Holabird, MD on September 23, 1940, was lost to history after successful testing. Enjoy seeing this 4-year re-creation project come to life at the 41st Annual Trophy Meet of the Austin Bantam Society, held in Carmel Valley, CA, Oct. 16-17, 2009.

Buck Bantam knives: "Knock-out Punches for Lightweights" by Nutnfancy Hot cars, cool guns, fancy knives are all great. But truth told I am a fan of high value, that is things that deliver high performance at a very reasonable cost. That's where my loyalties lie and hopefully that message comes through in most of my videos. Here I cover a perfect example of high value, seemingly high performance knives: The Buck Bantam Series. These knives possess many qualities that I like: lightweight, low cost, good steel, strong lockups, clips that hold tight, hollow grinding, comfy handles, and a choice of finishes (the Real Tree camo version looks awesome). Moreover, their 420HC steel is expertly hardened, cryogenically treated, and tempered making them, from many reports, outstanding edge-holders at this price point (they have Paul Bos heat treat according to Buck as well). Also they have a nice grind terminating in sharp, shallow angle edges that need no re-grinding. But all is not perfect in Buckland: the clip is pivot mounted and can't be switched, the smallest model (BBW) doesn't even have one (?!). They may not be the fastest deploying Zytel knives out there and you might get one with a stodgy, overly tight pivot pin (like one example I show of the smallest BBW model; second one was fine). Mottled Cochin Bantam Chicks Soldiers returning from China brought the first Cochin bantams to England in the 1860's. They were known as "Pekin" bantams then and are still referred to as "Pekins" in many parts of Europe. Cochins are heavily feathered down the shanks and toes and appear to be much larger than they actually are. They are very gentle, excellent setters, require little space, and with their many color varieties are absolutely beautiful to look at. Cochins are the most popular of the feather legged bantams and one of our best setters. A lustrous, greenish black base color with many of the feathers tipped in white. A color contrast that really makes it stand out in a flock.
