We went to the town, and only found one Camel left. He said the market was over. After he asked around, Moustaffa and he take us for quite a long, interesting, but a little scary ride. We were off the radar, no one knew where we were, and anything could have happened out there. Luckily, we were relieved, saw an amazing Market where they herders sell Camels from Egypt, Sudan and Somalia...for meat consumption. One of the most amazing days of our life...especially when your heart's beating a little fast, the entire time you are there. One herder wanted to trade his whip for my shades. There is animal abuse there, so sometimes it is hard to watch.

Besides, even Noel's voice had pitch correction applied on the album! The odd part about this particular video is that I screwed up royally halfway through editing, cutting out much of the second verse and half of the solo. I had to start my editing from scratch. That's an hour I won't get back. Sheesh. Also note the lack of metronome. I had to play this on the fly. Even the solo was originally recorded without playback of the "backing video." I kept the footage of the solo, but used Final Cut's voiceover tool to re-record it. Musically it's not all bad. But vocally? Eh. First there will be no photos here as the internet is stuffiung up again, sorry Well, Sarah and I last left you all in amazing Aswan, where relaxation had well and trukly kicked ib due to the sheer luxury of not having a travel plan or timetable, the feeling of freedom after so many months of trying to deal with a truck load of people through some pretty hard times, and the fact that Aswan just sucked us in with its laid back nature, friendly people and wewll, it was hard to leave the pool overlooking the Nile which you saw in the last blog update. After a good three or four days of doing very little, we did manage to get off our butts and actually do something, and it was spectacular!! We took a day trip to Abu Simbel (spelt at least 5 diff ways on maps etc), which is the site of the 'Great Temple of Abu Simbel', where one of Egypt's longest ruling and most (self) celebrated Pharoahs, Ramses II, built the temple, ostensibly to honour the Gods Pa-Harakhty, Amun and Ptah, but somehow becore an incredible monument to himself and his ego. The temple was built into a mountanside (its original site was going to be covered by Lake Nasser so it was moved upwards in a pretty incredible feat wehere the whole temple was cut into blocks and painstakingly reassembled in the new ...
