Wiitech: Point tracking and approximation demo This is the demo for wiitech functionalities of point tracking and approximation. You will se up to four points being tracked or approximated. Solving at least the task of point tracking is of crucial importance for headtracking and thus should be done proparly.

Approximating Volumes by Summation The Wolfram Demonstrations Project contains thousands of free interactive visualizations, with new entries added daily. The volume of a solid shape can be approximated by slicing it into layers and summing the volumes of all of the layers. The limit of this process is an integral that yields the volume of the solid. This is an ***ogue of a Riemann summation of the area ... Contributed by: Jason Harris

Automatically Generated Morph Sequence A computer vision based morph between 6 hot celebrities, and 6 random women from Google Image Archives, (perhaps on their way to becoming celebrities themselves). Our vision system optimized the sequence of faces and the smoothness of each transition pair in order to morph without the usually required manual-entry of control point pairs. The sequence optimizations were implemented using Simulated Annealing to improve a Greedy Tour as an approximation to the NP-hard Travelling Salesman Problem, which must find an optimal Hamiltonian Circuit through the graph of face-nodes among the exponential possibilities of such tours. You can tell that even our approximated system is wise, because Lindsay Lohan is morphed into Dar Williams, producing a few frames of what could only be otherwise achieved through decades of expensive cloning and DNA splicing procedures. This is a Final Exam Team Project for the University of Pennsylvania's GRASP Robotics Lab course: CIS-581, Computer Vision. Taught by Professor Jianbo Shi, Fall 2008. Bright Eyes - Approximated Sunlight (live at The National) This video was shot at the National in Richmond, VA on March 6th 2011. I think this was the second or third song played of the night, about 30 seconds in you can see Conor fall off the stage. What is awesome is he got kept singing (for the most part) and continued like it never happened. Great show, Great song. Video was shot by myself, the music is owned by Bright Eyes.

A Thousand Miles Per Second [Animazement 2009 Winner] Please read if at Animazement '09!! There are 2 versions of this video. The one on Youtube is the original .wmv that I made for a friend's birthday. It was later entered into the Anime America AMV Contest '08, then the Animazement 2009 AMV Contest. The AZ09 version is only slightly different with 3 major effect changes, a different dedication, and a shorter ending. I made those changes because those parts of my video always bugged me, and I wanted my video to look a little better for Animazement '09. The reason the dedication was changed is because I wanted to do something special for my cousin who attended AZ09 with me. I was confident that my video might win something. I approximated about a 70% chance while I crossed my fingers. Therefore, I put my cuz's name in their so she could get some recognition if I won. I'm still very good friends with the original dedication. ^-^ The AZ09 version is available for download. It will not be uploaded to Youtube due to WMG copyright complications. Chanting the Chakras - Visit for more New Age Videos, Articles and Discussion on Meditation, Yoga, Astrology, Accupuncture, Qi-Gong In Hinduism and its spiritual systems of yoga and in some related eastern cultures, as well as in some segments of the New Age movement -- and to some degree the distinctly different New Thought movement - a chakra is thought to be an energy node in the human body. The word comes from the Sanskrit "cakra" meaning "wheel, circle", and sometimes also referring to the "wheel of life". The pronunciation of this word can be approximated in English by 'chuhkruh', with ch as in chart and both instances - the commonly found pronunciation 'shockrah' is incorrect. The seven main chakras are described as being aligned in an ascending column from the base of the spine to the top of the head. Each chakra is associated with a certain color, multiple specific functions, an aspect of consciousness, a classical element, and other distinguishing characteristics. The chakras are thought to vitalise the physical body and to be associated with interactions of both a physical and mental nature. They are considered loci of life energy, or prana, which is thought to flow among them along pathways called nadis.

Renaissance flute - tenor dimensions Here is renaissance tenor flute N°3 of Biblioteca Capitolare in Verona, Italy, all dimensions in millimeters and approximated to the next mm for distances, and to the next 0.2 mm for diameters. It is probably one of the finest playing tenor flutes in existence, due also to the fact that fortunately it is not restored (or at least it was not 20 years ago when I measured it). The flute is in boxwood, and its pitch about A430-435, lowest note d'. For modern pitch the speaking length 544 should be reduced to about 530 and fingerholes moved accordingly. A picture of a copy is in my website . Information at email@example.com.

Interactive Multi-View Façade Image Editing Przemyslaw Musialski and Christian Luksch and Michael Schwärzler and Matthias Buchetics and Stefan Maierhofer andWerner Purgathofer We propose a system for generating high-quality approximated façade ortho-textures based on a set of perspective source photographs taken by a consumer hand-held camera. Our approach is to sample a combined orthographic approximation over the façade-plane from the input photos. In order to avoid kinks and seams which may occur on transitions between different source images, we introduce color adjustment and gradient domain stitching by solving a Poisson equation in real-time. In order to add maximum control on the one hand and easy interaction on the other, we provide several editing interactions allowing for user-guided post-processing.

Approximation of convex hull by Physarum polycephalum Slime mould Physarum polycephalum approximates concave hull of a planar point set. The data-points are represented by Kalms Tablets. See details in Adamatzky A. Slime mould computes planar shapes. (2011) Abstract Computing a polygon defining a set of planar points is a classical problem of modern computational geometry. In laboratory experiments we demonstrate that a concave hull, a connected alpha-shape without holes, of a finite planar set is approximated by slime mould Physarum polycephalum. We represent planar points with sources of long-distance attractants and short-distance repellents and inoculate a piece of plasmodium outside the data set. The plasmodium moves towards the data and envelops it by pronounced protoplasmic tubes.

Japanese Pretz Commercial Three commercials advertising three new Pretz flavors. Information on ads by commenters: 1st and 2nd ad by Maddruck "Tsuppari" is the name for the slapping motion that they are making here, it's a sumou term. The pun is that she is saying something more like "tsuppuri" so that when repeated it sounds like "pretz". "Dosukoi" is a shout used in sumou also. It doesn't have a real english translation, though it can be approximated as something like "come 'ere!". 3rd ad bySadsolstice9: "Pu-Ri-Tsu Ang Ang" = 'Pretzels Nom Nom' "Ookui na okuchi de" = 'Open your mouth wide" The women are from the Heian period. So if you listen carefullym they say "HEI-An-An" A play on words basically for "HEY Nom Nom".... Thanks to those who provided more information on the significance of the different actors, their outfits, and what they are saying. I do not own the rights to Pretz nor this commercial and has been uploaded for entertainment purposes only.

Simple Harmonic Motion -- Swinging Although this is technically not simple harmonic motion, it can be approximated as such. It is characterized by a period and amplitude. If this motion is approximated with a simple harmonic equation, what would that equation be? Note that the maximum distance from equilibrium is 9 feet. (Hint: Get a stopwatch!)
