What Causes Cerebral Aneurysms? In this video, Dr. David Newell explains what causes cerebral aneurysms, and answers common questions that patients have about aneurysms. A cerebral aneurysm can be caused by a combination of a weak spot in the blood vessel, flow patterns of the blood vessel, and things patients are exposed to such as hypertension or smoking. Family history, genetics, and environmental exposures are other risk factors that can lead to a cerebral aneurysm. For more information about cerebral aneurysms and Swedish visit

Nirvana - Aneurysm Here are some facts about "Aneurysm" from Wikipedia : "Aneurysm" is a song written by Nirvana. The song is notable in that it was never released as a single during the group's existence, and yet is one of the group's most popular songs. It is also noted that the song was written by all three members of Nirvana, in contrast to the majority of the group's songs which were written by frontman Kurt Cobain. A 2000 poll from BBC Radio 1 saw it voted as the third best Nirvana song, behind "Smells Like *** Spirit" and "Heart-Shaped Box". History The original studio version of the song featured as a B-side to the band's first hit single "Smells Like *** Spirit" in 1991 and also the 1992 tour EP Hormoaning. This version also appeared on the 2004 box set With the Lights Out. A second studio version recorded for the BBC radio program Evening Session and produced by Miti Adhikari appeared on the band's 1992 album Incesticide. Pieces of two live performances (from 25 November 1991 in Amsterdam, Holland, and 23 January 1993, Hollywood Rock, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) were put together on the 1994 home video Live! Tonight! Sold Out!!. This footage was released as a promotional video in 1996 for promotion of From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah. There is also another promotional video which just shows the entire Aneurysm performance from Amsterdam instead. Aneurysm Surgery-Mayo Clinic Brain aneurysms can be very deadly. The ballooning vessel can rupture, leaking blood into your brain. If that happens, there's a 60% chance you won't make it. Doctors agree that it's vitally important to fix aneurysms at risk of bleeding. Let's go to Mayo Clinic to learn about a new technique for repairing aneurysms. It's less invasive than traditional surgery and some patients can go home the same day.

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm This 3D animation on abdominal aortic aneurysm surgery depicts the anatomy of the aorta and both the open and endovascular procedure for repairing an abdominal aortic aneurysm. Abdominal aortic aneurysm (also known as AAA, pronounced "triple-a") is a localized dilatation (ballooning) of the abdominal aorta exceeding the normal diameter by more than 50 percent. In the open procedure the abdomen and aorta are opened and a graft is sown into place. In an endovascular procedure catheters are used to place a stent graft in the aneurysm. BRAIN ANEURYSM-ANEURISMA CEREBRAL -A brain aneurysm, also called a cerebral or intracranial aneurysm, is an abnormal bulging outward of one of the arteries in the brain. It is estimated that up to one in 15 people in the United States will develop a brain aneurysm during their lifetime. Brain aneurysms are often discovered when they rupture, causing bleeding into the brain or the space closely surrounding the brain called the subarachnoid space, causing a subarachnoid hemorrhage. Subarachnoid hemorrhage from a ruptured brain aneurysm can lead to a hemorrhagic stroke, brain damage and death. The main goals of treatment once an aneurysm has ruptured are to stop the bleeding and potential permanent damage to the brain and to reduce the risk of recurrence. Unruptured brain aneurysms are sometimes treated to prevent rupture. Learn more about treatment options for a brain aneurysm. Incidence Rates of Brain Aneurysms Approximately 0.2 to 3 percent of people with a brain aneurysm may suffer from bleeding per year The annual incidence of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage in the US exceeds 30000 people. Ten to 15 percent of these patients will die before reaching the hospital and over 50 percent will die within the first thirty days after rupture. Of those who survive, about half suffer some permanent neurological deficit Brain aneurysms can occur in people of all ages, but are most commonly detected in those ages 35 to 60 Women are actually more likely to get a brain aneurysm than men, with a ratio of 3:2 -ED ...

Severe Brain Aneurysm and Quantum Neurology A cerebral or brain aneurysm is a cerebrovascular disorder in which weakness in the wall of a cerebral artery or vein causes a localized dilation or ballooning of the blood vessel. A small, unchanging aneurysm will produce no to little symptoms. Before a larger aneurysm ruptures, the individual may experience such symptoms as a sudden and unusually severe headache, nausea, vision impairment, vomiting, and loss of consciousness, or the individual may be asymptomatic, experiencing no symptoms at all. Onset is usually sudden and without warning. Rupture of a cerebral aneurysm is dangerous and usually results in bleeding into the meninges or the brain itself, leading to a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) or intracranial hematoma (ICH), either of which constitutes a stroke. Rebleeding, hydrocephalus (the excessive accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid), vasospasm (spasm, or narrowing, of the blood vessels), or multiple aneurysms may also occur. The risk of rupture from an unruptured cerebral aneurysm varies according to the size of an aneurysm, with the risk rising as the aneurysm size increases. -wikipedia To find out more about Quantum Neurology, visit Find out more about Dr. Chase Hayden, Chiropractor and Quantum Neurologist visit one or all of the pages below: /DrChaseHayden /DrChaseHayden

Mayo Clinic Study on Brain Aneurysms A new international collaborative study led by Mayo Clinic found that the risk of a brain aneurysm rupturing over time depends on the location and size of the aneurysm. A brain aneurysm, also known as an intracranial or cerebral aneurysm, is an abnormal sac or tiny balloon on a blood vessel to the brain. Aneurysms can rupture and bleed into the area between the brain and the surrounding membrane, leading to stroke and death. An estimated 2 percent of Americans, approximately 6 million people, have brain aneurysms. These aneurysms rupture in about 25000 people each year. This study provides us with very useful information that will allow us to better guide our patients with unruptured aneurysms regarding the risk of aneurysm rupture during a very long period of follow-up, says Robert Brown, MD, a Mayo Clinic neurologist and the studys lead investigator. This study was part of the International Study of Unruptured Intracranial Aneurysms, which includes 4059 patients with unruptured brain aneurysms at 61 different medical centers in North America and Europe. These patients have been followed for an average of more than nine years. Dr. Brown and his team found that rupture risk was somewhat higher among patients with aneurysms in the back of the brain or in the posterior communicating artery, also in the back of the brain, compared to those in the front of the brain. Additionally, patients whose aneurysms were more than 13 millimeters (mm) in diameter were at least twice as ...
