RECONCILIATION TO GOD / AVOIDING HELL !!! THREE FORMS PENANCE PRAYER FASTING ALMSGIVING !!! FEB 18 Lady Birgitta had this revelation in Naples at the request of Lord Elzear, son of the countess of Ariano and, at that time, a young scholar of good disposition. He had then asked Lady Birgitta to pray to God for him. While she was at prayer, the Virgin Mary appeared to her and gave to her this revelation, by means of which she informs him about the measures to be maintained in his life and very beautifully says that reason must be the doorkeeper and guardian of the soul, to expel all temptations and resist them manfully lest they enter one's inner house. Book 7 - Chapter 5 SAINT BRIDGET PATRON SAINT OF EUROPE PART II By those who strive to undermine this type of foundation I mean those who speak to you thus and say: "My Lord, be a layman and take to yourself a charming, noble, and wealthy wife so that you may rejoice in your offspring and heirs and no be weighed down by the tribulation of the flesh." And others perhaps reply in this manner: "If you want to become a cleric, then also learn the liberal arts, to the end that you may be called 'master' while procuring for yourself, by prayers or gifts, as much as you can of the goods and revenues of the Church. Then you will have worldly honor for your knowledge; and by your worldly friends and your many servants, you will be glorified for the abundance of your riches." Behold: if perhaps anyone should offer you such persuasion, immediately make the guardian, ie, reason, answer him and say that you would be willing to endure ...

Entry from: Chiang Mai, Thailand Entry Title: "Chiang Mai: Elephant Rides & Alms Giving" Entry: "Without a doubt, for many of us on the tour, our most fun day was the one where we visited the Maetamon Elephant Camp outside Chiang Mai. When we arrived we saw a baby elephant, only 10 days old and weighing in at 250 pounds. It was adorable. We were given bananas to feed the elephants and touch them. Then came the elephant ride. Two on each elephant with the ride being far more comfortable than when we went on the "tiger" hunt in India. The terrain was beautiful and on our elephants we crossed the river, rode through a tropical wilderness and passed beautiful farmland. We had loads of fun. Following our ride, we saw the elephants being bathed in the river and then headed for the elephant show. The elephants danced and performed lots of tricks but the highlight was when two of the elephants painted....one on a T-shirt and one on canvas. It was unbelieveable. One of our group purchased the canvas and had it signed by the elephant. What a souvenir! After returning home, we noted that the show has been filmed and is on youtube. After the elephants we took a raft ride on the river that was serene and beautiful. We saw the night market of Chiang Mai....highly commercial and congested and got up early one ...
