  • "On A Night Like This"- Dave Barnes Cover A song I played at my school's Valentine's Day concert. Yes, I wrote a second verse. On a night like this I could fall in love I could fall in love with you In this dark so dense, we talk so soft The way young lovers do The days last sight turns to cool nights breeze And this love hangs thick like these willow leaves Ive hid myself away from this But your silhouette is the Judas kiss On a night like this I could fall in love I could fall in love with you On a night like this I could fall in love I could fall in love with you With a heart so full of the warmth of you This night made one from two I knew my chance was slim to none So I hardened my heart and kept it for one I tried so hard, I did my best But you had your sweet plans and I acquiesced On a night like this I could fall in love I could fall in love with you

  • 2009 GRASSROOTS Infowars Money Bomb - $upport Alex Jones' Work! This is the Official Video of the 2009 Infowars Money Bomb! This is a whole new Money Bomb concept. For more information or to donate, please visit **DISCLAIMER** This Money Bomb is an entirely GRASS ROOTS effort to support the Alex Jones Production Company and the Infowar and has been put together by a single listener and fellow Infowarrior in Chicago. Despite numerous attempts to contact The Alex Jones Show in regards to this Money Bomb, none of my calls have been returned and this idea has been completely ignored by both him and his production staff. I know Alex was hesitant to get involved in the Money Bomb last year but at the last minute, he acquiesced as support for the idea grew. HOWEVER, last year, most of us were MONEY BOMBED out after 2 Ron Paul Money Bombs and the request was for a pretty steep $100. That instantly turned the vast majority away from the idea. Hence, the 'Liberate Your Lincolns' concept. I mean, EVERYONE can afford 5 bucks, right? I am assuming Alex felt the results were a bit less than he anticipated last year even though he was gracious in thanking all who participated and donated. I am also assuming he feels that this idea will not work and doesn't want to set himself up for failure or ridicule from his opponents. I guess that is understandable. Personally, I believe this attitude is wrong and feel that everyone who gets this message, listens to his show and knows how vitally important that this information get ...

  • The Infamous Dan Deacon Interview WARNING: THIS VIDEO CONTAINS OFFENSIVE CONTENT We would like to extend our sincere apology for this interview. Dan Deacon's people had been hounding us to interview him for weeks, and we eventually acquiesced. At that time, we had NO IDEA about Mr. Deacon's negative feelings towards cats. (How could we? He has a song called "Crystal Cat.") Had we known about his hatred in advance, we never would have gone forward with this interview. American Friendship takes journalistic standards very seriously. We are now working with an outside company who will perform background checks on all our interviewees to ensure that their appreciation for cats is good and true. You deserve that. Your cats deserve that. And it's the least we can do. Thank you all for supporting us in what has been a truly difficult time.

  • Bad King John - The Most Evil Men and Women in History (part 1 of 2) Bad King John (1166-1216) He murdered his nephew, inspired the legend of Robin Hood and caused the creation of Magna Carta.John (24 December 1166 -- 19 October 1216) was King of England from 6 April 1199 until his death. He acceded to the throne as the younger brother of King Richard I, who died without issue. John was the youngest of five sons of King Henry II of England and Eleanor, Duchess of Aquitaine, and was their second surviving son to ascend the throne; thus, he continued the line of Plantagenet or Angevin kings of England. Prior to his coronation, he was Earl of Cornwall and Gloucester, but this title reverted to the Crown once he became King. During his lifetime John acquired two epithets. One was "Lackland" (French: Sans Terre), because, as his father's youngest son, he did not inherit land out of his family's holdings, and because as King he lost significant territory to France. The other was "Softsword" signifying his supposed lack of prowess in battle. Apart from entering popular legend as the enemy of Robin Hood, he is perhaps best-known for having acquiesced —to the barons of English nobility— to seal Magna Carta, a document which limited kingly power in England and which is popularly thought as an early step in the evolution of limited government.
  • South Park and the Prophet Mohammed Recently Comedy Central's South Park was going to air another episode blasphemous in nature. This time the blasphemy of South Park was going to insult the Prophet Mohammed of the Muslim faith, Islam. However a group called the Revolution Muslim, issued a veiled threat stating if the episode aired with its insult to the sensitivities of Muslims, there may be violence. So the cowards at Comedy Central acquiesced and cleaned up that episode. They did not do this out of their sensitivities towards Islam, it was done out of fear. In a society where we enjoy free speech people and groups will be offended and insulted. That is a residual of free speech. The *** thespians in Hollywood take this to an extreme recklessly abandoning any sense of behaving responsible in a civil society. For the last 30 years the *** thespians in Hollywood started eroding respect for Christianity by first attacking the religion as a whole, then to the clergy, the Pope and finally Jesus Christ Himself. Perhaps the Muslim community did not want the same faith to fall upon their religion. South Park in the attempt to air such an episode insulting the Prophet Mohammed did so to insult, and enrage. Now that they got what they asked for, their ***ed feelings are hurt. After 30 years of constant attack by Hollywood on religion in the USA, it has done nothing to erode Americas reference towards God. Americans go to mosque on Fridays, synagogue on Saturdays, and church on Sundays. God bless America ...

  • SYD BARRETT - Octopus (Take 11) "The Madcap Loughs" (1970) 'Octopus' - B Side - Track 1 - Take 11 Recorded on 12 June 1969, overdubs added on 13 June Produced by Syd Barrett and David Gilmour After leaving Pink Floyd, Barrett distanced himself from the public eye. At the behest of EMI and Harvest Records, he embarked on a brief solo career, releasing two solo albums, The Madcap Laughs and Barrett. Most of the compositions on both albums date from Barrett's most productive period of songwriting, late 1966 to mid-1967, and it is believed that he wrote few new songs after he left Pink Floyd. The first album, The Madcap Laughs, was recorded in two sessions, both at Abbey Road Studios: a few tentative sessions took place between May and June 1968 (produced by Peter Jenner), while the bulk of the album was recorded between April and July 1969. The record was produced first by Malcolm Jones, a young EMI executive, and then by David Gilmour and Roger Waters. In his book "The Making of the Madcap Laughs," Jones states that "when Dave came to me and said that Syd wanted him and Roger to do the remaining parts of the album, I acquiesced." A few tracks on the album feature overdubs by members of the band Soft Machine. Barrett also played guitar on the sessions for Soft Machine founder Kevin Ayers' debut LP Joy of a Toy, although his performance on "Religious Experience" was not released until the album was reissued in 2003
  • Tokyo Trial - The Worst Hypocrisy in Recorded History The very existence of the entire body of international law on the subject of war gives evidence of the legality of war. The proposition that killing in war is not murder. That killing in war is not murder follows from the fact that war is legal. This legalized killing -- justifiable homicide, technically, perhaps -- however repulsive, however abhorrent, has never been thought of as imposing criminal responsibility. If the killing of Admiral Kidd by the bombing of Pearl Harbor is murder, we know the name of the very man whose hands loosed the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, we know the chief of staff who planned that act, we know the chief of the responsible state. Is murder on their consciences? We may well doubt it. We may well doubt it, and not because the event of armed conflict has declared their cause just and their enemies unjust, but because the act is not murder. Show us the charge, produce the proof of the killing contrary to the laws and customs of war, name the man whose hand dealt the blow, produce the responsible superior who planned, ordered, permitted or acquiesced in this act, and you have brought a criminal to the bar of justice. ........................................................ • Willem Mengelberg The most controversial aspect of Mengelberg's biography centers around his actions and behavior during the years of the *** occupation of Holland between 1940 and 1945. Some newspaper articles of the time gave the appearance that he acquiesced to the presence of the ***'s ideological restrictions on particular composers. Explanations have ranged from political naiveté in general, to a general "blind spot" of criticism of anything German, given his own ancestry. Because of Mengelberg's co-operation with the occupying regime in The Netherlands during World War II, he was banned from conducting in the country by the Dutch government after the war in 1945. He was stripped of his honours and his passport. The original judgment was that Mengelberg would be banned from conducting in the Netherlands for the remainder of his life. Appeals by his attorneys led to a reduction in the sentence to a banning of six years from conducting, retroactively applied to start from 1945. This notwithstanding, he continued to draw a pension from the orchestra until 1949 when cut off by the city council of Amsterdam.[3] Mengelberg retreated in exile to Zuort, Sent, Switzerland, where he remained until his death in 1951, just two months before the expiration of his exile order. Willem Mengelberg was the uncle of the musicologist and composer Rudolf Mengelberg and of the conductor, composer and critic Karel Mengelberg, who was himself the father of the prominent improvising pianist and composer ...

  • Ludwig Van Beethoven - Grosse Fuge, Op. 133, Part I As I promised to upload more pieces, please welcome Ludwig Van Beethoven and his Große Fuge(Grosse Fuge), Opus 133! He wrote this piece when he was completely deaf a short time before he died, in 1825-1826. The Große Fuge is a single-movement composition for string quartet by Ludwig van Beethoven. Beethoven originally composed the massive fugue as the final movement of his String Quartet No. 13 (Op. 130). However, the Fugue was so demanding of contemporary performers and unpopular with audiences that Beethoven's publisher urged him to write a new finale for the string quartet. Beethoven, notorious for his stubborn personality and indifference to public opinion or taste, acquiesced to his publisher's request on this occasion and published the Fugue as a separate opus number, opus 133. He then wrote a finale that replaced the Fugue, which is considerably lighter in character, more akin to the other movements of the opus 130 quartet. Today, performances of the quartet include either the Fugue or its replacement movement. This is my third video, after Pachelbel's Canon: and Saint-Saëns' Danse Macabre: I see you enjoy the pieces from your very lovely comments. It encourages me to upload more^^ BTW, this(the Fuge) is one of my favorites. I have first heard this piece in the movie "Copying Beethoven". I enjoyed the movie very much, highly recommended. • Discovery Channel - Fall of Great Empires: Storm over Persia 4/5 On either 10 or 11 June 323 BC, Alexander died in the palace of Nebuchadnezzar II, in Babylon at the age of 32.[124] Plutarch gives a lengthy account of the circumstances of his death, echoed (without firm dates) by Arrian. Roughly 14 days before his death, Alexander entertained his admiral Nearchus, and then, instead of going to bed, spent the night and next day drinking with Medius of Larissa.[125] After this, and by 18 Daesius (a Macedonian month) he had developed a fever, which then grew steadily worse.[125][126] By 25 Daesius, he was unable to speak.[126] By 26 Daesius, the common soldiers had become anxious about his health, or thought he was already dead. They demanded to see him, and Alexander's generals acquiesced.[126] The soldiers slowly filed past him, whilst Alexander raised his right hand in greeting, still unable to speak.[127] Two days later, on 28 Daesius (although Aristobolus's account says it was 30 Daesius), Alexander was dead.[125][126] Conversely, Diodorus recounts that Alexander was struck down with pain after downing a large bowl of unmixed wine in honour of Hercules, and (rather mysteriously) died after some agony,[128] which is also mentioned as an alternative by Arrian, but Plutarch specifically refutes this claim.

  • ROY HARRIS: Symphony Number 2 (1934) - III: Maestoso (Final Movement) The Albany Symphony Orchestra conducted by David Alan Miller from Albany TROY515 (2002) Two world premiere recordings by major American composers. With this release, the Albany Symphony Orchestra brings to light two major American symphonies that have been unjustly neglected for more than half a century. These works were conceived with great optimism and enthusiasm by their creators, young men then ascending the crest of celebrity and now ranked among America's most important 20th century composers. But both symphonies had difficult entrances into the world, their original spark dimmed by patchings and pasteups imposed to correct supposed musical shortcomings. In spite of the revisions both men acquiesced to, however, critical reaction to the symphonies was disappointingly mixed. Harris withdrew his piece. Gould's soon faded from the repertoire. This was the situation when the Albany Symphony Orchestra pursued programming both of these works. Having already recorded music by Gould and Harris, the orchestra had faith in the validity of the composers' initial creative impulses. A score and set of instrumental parts to the unknown original version of Gould's Third were tracked down. These were used for this recording. Then, Ray Bono, the Albany Symphony Orchestra's copyist, worked to restore the bulk of the original material Harris had expunged from his Second Symphony. Also, the errors in the almost 75 year old score and parts had to be corrected. It ...
  • Israel's Fight For Freedom - Part 01 of 10 - The Movie After leaving active duty, Marcus continued his Army service as a member of the Judge Advocate General's Corps in the Organized Reserve Corps. After the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, he was recalled to active duty. He served initially as executive officer to the military governor of Hawaii. He was assigned ultimately to Civil Affairs in Washington whose mission was to plan for the establishment of occupation governments after Axis-occupied territories were liberated. Ostensibly to assess civil affairs requirements first hand, he participated in the Battle of Normandy in 1944, joining the first wave of paratroopers jumping into France. Marcus helped draw up the surrender terms for Italy and Germany and became part of the occupation government in Berlin after 1945. During that time, Marcus was placed in charge of planning how to sustain the starving millions in areas liberated by the Allies, and clearing out the *** concentration camps. He was subsequently named chief of the War Crimes Division, planning legal and security procedures for the Nuremberg trials. Israeli military career: In 1947, David Ben-Gurion asked Marcus to recruit an American officer to serve as military advisor to the nascent Jewish army, the Haganah. He could not recruit anyone suitable, and Marcus volunteered himself. In 1948, the United States War Department informally acquiesced in Colonel Marcus, still a reservist, undertaking the mission provided Marcus disguised his name and rank to avoid ...
  • CBI-raids-Kalaignar-TV-office DMK`s links to the 2G scam for 214 Core A midnight raid by CBI at the headquarters of Kalaignar TV, owned by Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi`s family, further sharpened the focus on DMK`s links to the 2G scam. Sources said the agency is also planning to question Karunanidhi`s daughter, DMK MP Kanimozhi, in what will take the CBI literally to the TN chief minister's doorsteps. Launched in 2007 when the Karunanidhi family fell out with Sun TV`s Maran brothers, Kalaignar TV is part owned by Rajya Sabha member Kanimozhi, who owns 20% in the channel bouquet. Kanimozhi has been aligned with sacked telecom minister A Raja in DMK`s factional equations. MK Dayalu, Karunanidhi`s second wife, holds 60% in the channel. CBI is investigating a Rs 206-crore transaction to Kalaignar TV in 2009, arranged by DB Group, which owns Swan Telecom, one of the biggest beneficiaries of the scandalous 2G allocation by Raja when he was telecom minister. In his interaction with TV editors on Wednesday, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had blamed the spectrum scam on DMK and its leadership`s insistence on keeping the telecom portfolio during the two tenures of UPA. Sources said CBI was likely to question Kanimozhi in Delhi to avoid embarrassment to DMK — the reason why Raja was arrested in New Delhi. They also said CBI had no plan to question MK Dayalu. CBI`s focus on Kalaignar TV proves wrong any estimate that the agency would not pursue the DMK angle beyond Raja. The Dravidian outfit has so far acquiesced to the agency's ...
  • The Sow that Eats her Farrow "The Sow that Eats her Farrow" This song lyric was uninspired - as against 'inspired' - by a series of tragic events in Ireland over the past 30/40 years the consequences of which have only become apparent over the past 2-4 years. The reports of the Ryan and Murphy Tribunals uncovered the institutional abuse inflicted by members of the Catholic church upon their subjugates; and established that the Catholic church, as an institution regarded itself as above and outside the law. The state and its leaders acquiesced by remaining subservient to the church thus leaving vulnerable children with no state protection or voice. The corruption in the Irish political system, as evidenced by enquiries into planning influences at local authority level and the abject failure of the state authorities to regulate the banking sector, has led most right minded citizens to believe that many politicians were in bed with the bankers, builders and developers such that their independence was fatally compromised. There is a growing belief that political leaders over the past several decades have been motivated principally by the desire to gain power for themselves, their friends and their political parties rather than to provide leadership and vision for the people they purport to represent. • Ludwig Van Beethoven - Grosse Fuge, Op. 133, Part II As I promised to upload more pieces, please welcome Ludwig Van Beethoven and his Große Fuge(Grosse Fuge), Opus 133! "[it is] an absolutely contemporary piece of music that will be contemporary forever." - Igor Stravinsky This is my third video, after Pachelbel's Canon: and Saint-Saëns' Danse Macabre: I see you enjoy the pieces from your very lovely comments. It encourages me to upload more^^ BTW, this(the Fuge) is one of my favorites. I have first heard this piece in the movie "Copying Beethoven". I enjoyed the movie very much ...
  • Question Time 02 12 09 - segment relating to the banning of Geert Wilders Question Time 12 Feb 09 - the barring of Geert Wilders from the UK, and the implications for freedom of speech. All of the main political parties have either backed the ban or at least acquiesced with it. There is a danger that disaffected voters will shift their allegiances to other, more extreme parties that claim to represent free speech.
  • ACCESS' Covert Mission under "attack" from "loud, powerful" parents The Devil is a "living enemy" says Christine Burford of ACCESS Ministries. Yet whilst God's love is more powerful "be prayerful [don't] fall into ***iness", she advises speaking at Naringal Baptist Church on ACCESS Sunday. Christine was "a lost sheep", thinking independently at school and committing acts of wanton sailing by the age of 21. Fortunately, whilst in PNG in a "little thatch church" God "apprehended" Christine and "said will you trust me, now will you let me take over your life". That was "a major significant experience", Christine understates with absolute seriousness but now of course sees "many hands of God over my life". Apart from having a one way conversation with a deity who wanted to take over her life (she seemingly acquiesced), Christine also opines as to the "small groups with different world views". Far from being just those who don't hear God ask to take over their lives, it appears there's a perceived attack on those who don't hallucinate. "We face the world... secular situations with other world views who have a loud voice and penetrate a swell, to bring unrest and undermine the work of God in schools and of course ACCESS Ministries does represent God, so it's gunna be attacked". In fact Christine likens this "opposition" (of having a different world view) to the opposition to the rebuilding of the ancient biblical wall of Jerusalem. Strangely, I didn't see that coming - seriously! Delusion, arrogance and battle regalia aside, all thinking ...
  • East Timor National Anthem In May 2002, after 450 years of continuous foreign occupation, East Timor became the worlds newest independent state. However, East Timor's road to independence was long and traumatic. The Portuguese first arrived on the island in the early 16th century and by the 1550s had occupied the eastern part. The Dutch took control of the western part, which became part of the Dutch East Indies and, after independence, Indonesia. In 1975, the new left-wing Portuguese government relinquished all of its colonies. East Timor then enjoyed just a few days of independence, before the Indonesians annexed it as their 27th province. There was little local resistance and the international community largely acquiesced. ********** This description is from WORLDTRAVELGUIDE. World Travel Guide own all copyright to this description. • My IT Band Stretch I spent thousands of dollars on physical therapy and tried every cure on the internet and still could not get my IT band pain to subside. It prevented me from running for six months and I was about a week away from getting surgery on it. My surgeon insisted that I see one more PT before he operated on me and I begrudgingly acquiesced. He taught me this one little stretch that impacted my problem relatively fast. I've tried to describe it on running forums but it's much easier to just explain. I mumble a lot, so I apologize if my babbling is incomprehensible to you, probably for the better! Just watch what I do, then repeat it as many times during the day that you possibly can!
  • The Beatles Break Up - Interview / Paul McCartney in High Courts, London 1970-1971 Watch more: Apple Corps during this period was plagued by business problems. Lennon and Ono met with Allen Klein regarding managerial advice. Subsequently, Lennon requested that Klein represent his business interests in the band. Harrison and Starr acquiesced, while McCartney had ambiguous feelings about Klein's managerial potential. McCartney's growing relationship with Linda Eastman opened the opportunity for Lee and John Eastman, Linda's father and brother, respectively, to become involved in advising the band's financial and legal decision-making. However, the band members' quarrels and disharmony over musical matters soon permeated their business discussions. Dick James, who held substantial rights to Northern Songs (the Lennon/McCartney song catalogue), became increasingly concerned over the band's dissension and resentment towards him. Without informing the Beatles, he inconspicuously entertained offers to sell his substantial shares in Northern Songs. Klein and the Eastmans were caught off-guard and their attempts to reclaim control of the Beatles (via Maclen Music) failed. It soon became evident that the Eastmans and Klein had developed an adversarial relationship given their disparate advice and counsel. This further aggravated the underlying mistrust and antipathy experienced within the band. The Get Back/Let It Be project from the January 1969 recordings and filming was aborted. However, the group ...
  • McCain Flip Flops on Tax Cuts New TYT Network channels: New TYT Facebook Page(!): Follow us on Twitter: ***: FREE Movies(!): Note: The above two links are for TYT sponsors. Read Ana's blog and subscribe at: TYT Network (new WTF?! channel): Check Out TYT Interviews This afternoon on Fox News, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said Congress should vote to pass the tax cuts deal negotiated between President Obama and congressional Republicans. "We have sent the message that we will not increase people's taxes," McCain said. During the interview, McCain took a moment to mock Obama for backtracking on the Bush tax cuts for the rich McCAIN: I guess it was my old beloved friend Morris Udall who said the politician's prayer is: may the words I utter today be tender and sweet because tomorrow I may have to eat them. We're seeing clips all over the place — "We can't extend these tax cuts for the rich," "it's the rich people" — you know, all of the clips of the President. While it is certainly true that Obama has acquiesced on his principled stand against doling out unnecessary tax cuts to the rich, he's not the only one. In fact, John McCain was once a crusader against the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy. In 2008, of course, McCain ran on an agenda of rewarding the wealthiest Americans with a huge tax cut. But, the "maverick" McCain of early 2000s ...

  • IRA (Free Ireland) In 1845, the onset of the Great Irish Famine resulted in over a million deaths. Ottoman Sultan Khaleefah Abdul-Majid I declared his intention to send 10000 sterling to Irish farmers but Queen Victoria requested that the Sultan send only 1000 sterling, because she had sent only 2000 sterling herself. The Sultan sent the 1000 sterling but also secretly sent 3 ships full of food. The English courts tried to block the ships, but the food arrived in Drogheda harbor and was left there by Ottoman Sailors. Due to this the Irish people, especially those in Drogheda, are friendly to the Turks. (Note, in 1845, the 10000 pounds dedicated to the Irish from the Sultan would be worth approximately 800000 pounds today, that is $1683280 US Dollars. On the other hand, the Queen gave the equivilant of 160000 pounds today or 336656 US Dollars) The Osmanli Traveller blog has copied to text a writeup by a Christian Priest who wrote about the Sultan of the time in his travelogue. His account mentions this incident briefly. What is interesting is that without knowing of the secret sending of the ships, the priest was already impressed with the character of the Sultan in his response to the Queen. On the Character of Sultan Abdul-Majid Khan, by the Rev. Henry Christmas MA (Christian Priest) written in 1853: 'One or two anecdotes will put his character in its true light. During the year of famine in Ireland, the Sultan heard of the distress existing in that unhappy country; he immediately conveyed ...
